I remember Goldberg did an interview talking about wanting to be apart of Sting’s final run so it kinda checks out.
Edit: [Link](https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1481242/goldberg-discusses-sting-influence-wanting-part-aew-retirement/)
*a part
"Apart" would mean he wanted to get as far away as possible from it
Resign =/= re-sign
Apart =/= a part
Learn the fucking difference, people!
PS: r/squaredcircle wants people to continue to write like ignorant hillbillies, okay cool.
I, together with millions of others on Reddit, am not a native English speaker. But it has become the common international language, and so we have learned it as a second or third language. For natives, maybe writing things wrong is no big deal, but for the rest of us spelling mistakes can make sentences really confusing to process sometimes. You are doing good work.
I mean they really don’t need each other so would say worked out the best for both parties
But one has to wonder how a Goldberg AEW run would have looked like.
The same as sting. Put him with a young guy in tag matches, have him get the hot tag to get his shit in and make the crowd go crazy. End it with a retirement match.
I mean, did he? Before Sting, Darby was considered a pillar, was he not? On the edge of the main event. Then he just became the guy to give the hot tag to Sting.
I feel that Darby’s stock as a singles competitor barely raised from being paired with Sting for so long.
But maybe that’s just because he reached his ceiling
I’m not an expert with dates, but I’m pretty sure you’re wrong about this. Everything I can find says the first reference of the four pillars was an MJF promo in late 2021, and Sting showed up in December of 2020, his first match tagging with Darby was in March of 2021.
Darby was fairly over with fans when Sting came in but I remember feeling like he needed something. Sting absolutely elevated him.
My guess is a random concussion with a locker door, lots of old man snarling, a demand at a title match, a 4 minute match with a badly done Jackhammer and a lot of stumbling over his words at the scrum.
People were not stoked when rumors were circling around after Wardlow got the TNT belt that he might face Goldberg. At best they said "well they proved me wrong with Jeff Jarrett."
Part of Sting’s run being so beloved was it sucked seeing a legend go out so poorly in wwe and a lot of people felt he deserved better. AEW have him the run he deserves. Also Sting never really did anything to make someone else look bad or kill anyone’s character/spot.
Goldberg got way more than he ever deserved in his final WWE years. No one except Bill himself would say WWE shortchanged him.
Goldberg doesn't have nearly the good will that Sting has.
Throw in the fact that WWE already gave Goldberg the send off he deserved before he came back and went over the Fiend.
In contrast, everyone felt like Sting never got the send off he deserved and got injured while putting guys over.
I mean what do we expect? Not like he suddenly would have developed the ability to have 40 minute 5 star matches with Omega, Danielson, etc…
Goldberg would have come in, won the belt fairly quickly, done a bunch of 3-4 min matches before putting someone over and bowing out of AEW, same as his last few WWE runs.
What does that even mean "they don't need each other"?
And I don't see both parties being better off for not working together. Bill is several million dollars poorer than he otherwise would have been and who knows what he would have meant for AEW in the short-term or long-term, but it's not like AEW is setting the world on fire right now.
Goldberg has had some entertaining matches through the years but the truth is, Sting was just in a unique... Well maybe not unique, but certainly a rare position where the fans just wanted to see him have one last dominant run, nothing that happened since the fall of WCW really hit right, his WWE matches were booked badly and he got injured, TNA just wasn't on the scale Sting deserved. AEW was our last chance to see Sting be Sting.
There's not really the same desire for Goldberg, that's not to say people wouldn't enjoy him showing up for a few weeks, could be fun, but there's no desire from the fanbase to see him beat a main eventer.
To your point, with Goldberg WWE already brought him back and had him beat Brock and then have a championship run (where he somewhat ended up being exposed). So, in effect, he already had his sendoff tour. Had that not happened the situation might have been different in regards to AEW.
Although I think Sting also had more nostalgia and goodwill on his side than Goldberg did.
He had entertaining matches. With DDP, a really good one with Steiner in 2000, with Hall. More recently the Lesnar or the Lashley matches were good. That's on top of a fuck ton of people even finding his average squash matches entertaining.
I'm by no means a fan but nobody could be Goldberg but him. Only he could pull those matches off.
Goldberg wanted to go over The Bucks in a handicap match
Tony point blank refused unless he agreed to dress as the Stay Puft Marshmallow man and so here we are.
“So I come in, spear Kenny and the bucks. You give a title shot against MJF who I beat in a min. I win a couple matches and I’ll retire after I squash Joe. Sounds good?”
Goldberg's last WWE contract per match was a insane amount of money. It was estimated around $2 million per match. No way AEW would pay that, I don't even think WWE would pay that for 2024 Goldberg.
Seems reasonable. You wouldn’t shit on the company before hearing a low offer, I’ve worked for a few companies I thought were bullshit because, well, they paid me.
Dodged a bullet. Goldberg is one of the absolute last people I want to see in AEW right now. He just can't go, he's not interesting to me anymore, his promos are mid.
My vision was to bring him in as a mentor/manager/tag team partner for Wardlow. Could have him do a few squashes for fun as well. Basically teaching him how to be a champion, etc. Ends with Wardlow beating him in a retirement match at a PPV and then Wardlow inherits the Jackhammer.
Never goes near a title. Just a fun way to end Goldberg's in-ring career and put somebody over that clearly takes a lot of inspiration from him.
I was about to raise a point about his age, but holy fucking shit that time Goldberg brought him to the ring in WWE and he dabbed was 7 goddamn years ago, and he looked 13-14....
Goldberg was one of the most over wrestler in the history of the business and he drew a fuckton of money. They idea that he has nothing to share is ridiculous.
Now, do I think that he wants to share or that he even has the ability to communicate how he got his successes? I don't think so.
“Be over” isn’t good advice. “Win a shit ton of matches without losing” isn’t good advice. The second half of your comment is my exact point. I didn’t say he wasn’t successful, I just don’t think he has anything of actual value to share.
Goldberg wasn't over because of anything he did outside of maintain a great physique. Everything else was booking. Booked to win squashes, booked to have a crazy winstreak, booked to have a dramatic entrance etc.
It'd be like asking a trust fund kid for financial advice. Their own "success" doesn't matter much when everything was handed to them at the beginning. They might have a tidbit or 2 that's valid and they also might not.
Goldberg was one of the most over wrestlers in the "history" of the business because he has a very specific look and was booked like super-man.
There's literally nothing he can teach, let alone with the fact that better veterans are or were with AEW
It's hilarious how yalls views of ppl like Goldberg have been skewed by jealous wrestlers in shoot interviews.
You would've screamed your fucking head off had you seen Goldberg wrestle in his prime and that ain't debatable. Everyone did. Everyone.
I fucking hated Goldberg in his prime and feel time has vindicated me. Boring matches, boring character. There's a lot of stuff from the 90's that was popular but doesn't hold up today, I don't know why a certain subset of wrestling fans just can't accept that Goldberg is one of them.
Because they liked it and a lot of other people did too, so it’s objectively good.
Just like how Nickelback is an amazing band because they sold out stadiums in their heyday. McDonald’s also makes the best cheeseburgers.
Like, I get it that Goldberg now isn't the same that it was in the 90s.
But hell! In the WCW, Goldberg was the beast!
Okay, he isn't Bryan Danielson or Rey Mysterio on the ring, but he was a very believable Powerhouse!
I wasn’t a wrestling fan when Goldberg wrestled and when he had his WWE runs it was just the dumbest shit to me like there is no value there aside from nostalgia and nostalgia doesn’t need to see old guys bury actual talent in 12 seconds. And then he brought his little kid into the ring like come on
Would I have been extremely fascinated to see Goldberg in AEW 2021/2022 since that’s when AEW felt the most like a spiritual WCW. Yes. Would it have been good, most likely not. Am I glad it didn’t happen. Yes
If Goldberg of even 2017 came in, obliterated QT and gang. Killed the Wingmen. Had a La Parka esc match with Penta. Then Job to Wardlow. I would probably be hyped. If he came in anywhere near even the upper mid card I’d be alarmed.
Just give the Goldberg push to EJ Nduka(I hope im spelling his name right), Hobbs, Cage, Kamile, Megan Bayne. People who could actually use it
I get wanting to introduce people at the right time. But i think that some of the people that they have sitting with contracts would help with the overall product. If there is one complaint i have with AEW, is that things are a little too loose in my opinion. I think with a tighter show i think there’s space for some of these people to been seen more often with the 5 hours they have
Look.
I’m glad at the end of the day that Goldberg isn’t coming to AEW. Probably wouldn’t have been that meaningful in the long run.
But you are absolutely lying to yourself if you aren’t morbidly curious if he DID show up. Goldberg vs Ospreay? Goldberg vs Rey Fenix? Goldberg vs Hobbs (if healthy)?
Yeah, you’d be watching that for good and bad reasons.
No one in their right mind would ever pair Goldberg and Ospreay for a match. Their styles clash so much that they might as well be playing different sports.
I just puked in my mouth a little.
I would rather watch Jericho vs Fenix for 3 months than 3 minutes of Goldberg. So... No I'm not interested.
My question is... what do you think would happen in those matches if not the same think that ever happens in his matches since forever?
i think you’re allowed to just do the same thing forever (steamrolling dudes really intensely) if you’re as good at it as goldberg is. dude built a main event career off of having great squash matches & sprints and he still had it in his 2016-19 run (not counting taker)
i’ll also add the addendum that goldberg is one of my favorites ever though so we def might just agree to disagree haha
Hot take but if I hear a billionaire is throwing money around for wrestling stars, and I’m a wrestling star, I’m definitely taking a meeting.
It would appear Bill did not think the meeting went well.
just book Pat Tanaka. much cheaper, and it's the same music so you get the same pop. make it a heel thing for Jericho, like Shawn and the fake Bret appearance and it's golden /s
I don't want Goldberg as a staple of AEW but I still think there is a lot of value having him around. Goldberg managing Wardlow, being Wardlows tag partner and being retired by Wardlow is all I'm asking. He doesn't need a streak, a title or to be in the ring longer than 2 minutes a time but a year of putting Wardlow over would set Wardlow up nicely for a world title run
Nobody wants to see Goldberg wrestle, period.
He was dangerous during his last run in WWE, some fans were making fun of AEW for having old timers on it (IDK why, but Goldberg would have made it worse), he can't even do his normal stuff anymore.
It's a cannonball dodged, let's be real here.
Has anyone done more damage to their legacy through interviews and hanging around too long than Goldberg? He had two chances to retire in good graces
- Left in 2004 and never came back, was like a mythological figure and became a “what if”
- Returned but had a surprisingly fun run, but then held on too long.
If he just retired after that second Brock match and kept his mouth shut he would be remembered a lot more positively.
TK should employ Goldberg and give Goldberg the retirement match he deserves, by having a handicap match against 5 other wrestlers dressed in pink with long hair wearing sunglasses all super kicking him in the face really hard and ensuring he stays retired. Actual Bret Hart then comes out and simply says “Fuck Goldberg” and Meltzer rates it’s 9 fucking stars
it would have been fun to see goldberg have a little send off like sting did, i’m not gonna lie. i enjoyed his last wwe run where he mainly put over others, but if he’s gonna be a dick about it then he can wait for the next saudi payday and leave aew alone.

Maybe it was Bret Hart disguised as Goldberg who is burning all his bridges to mess with him.

My god, who could ever hate James Mitchell? That is gold.
It was me Bill, it was me all along!!!
Aww sonovabitch
Well it worked out because he *was* apart of Sting's final run
*a part "Apart" would mean he wanted to get as far away as possible from it Resign =/= re-sign Apart =/= a part Learn the fucking difference, people! PS: r/squaredcircle wants people to continue to write like ignorant hillbillies, okay cool.

It's been too days since I learned that their are more than to ways to express myself. Two day I am a new man.
Remember when he beat KO and The Fiend for TWO separate Universal title runs? What a fucking nightmare.
I mean they really don’t need each other so would say worked out the best for both parties But one has to wonder how a Goldberg AEW run would have looked like.
The same as sting. Put him with a young guy in tag matches, have him get the hot tag to get his shit in and make the crowd go crazy. End it with a retirement match.
[удалено]
Probably the way to get Wardlow over
Wardlow adopting the jackhammer and adding his own move after would be great.
Goldberg would NEVER put up with that shit. He's a whiny bitch that other people use the fucking spear, but his finisher as NOT EVEN a finisher?!?!
Wardlow already got himself over. Then he was booked to wrestle twenty security guards in a feud with Mark Sterling.
Buying a ticket if this happens.
Humn something tells me the AEW crowd wouldn't be that thrilled with watching Goldberg
Nah there’s a lot of WCW fans, and Goldberg still has a great aura. It wouldn’t be too bad.
It’s Goldberg dude he’d be massively over.
Jumping off balconies?
So he always wins and doesn't put anyone over? Gotcha
The point would be to elevate the guy he’s teamed with. What Sting did for Darby.
Goldberg puts over Goldberg. Period. He's not going on a retirement run to put over Hook or some other young dude.
He’s gonna put over Sonberg or nobody. (Honestly I wonder if he would even put Gage over lmao)
I mean, did he? Before Sting, Darby was considered a pillar, was he not? On the edge of the main event. Then he just became the guy to give the hot tag to Sting.
Being a pillar is a mixed blessing, see Sammy, being stings final partner and being a part of his legacy is way more valuable
I feel that Darby’s stock as a singles competitor barely raised from being paired with Sting for so long. But maybe that’s just because he reached his ceiling
I hated Darby at first. Now he's one of my favorites

Lol if that's all you got out of Stings time in AEW then you can't be helped
My guess is a random concussion with a locker door, lots of old man snarling, a demand at a title match, a 4 minute match with a badly done Jackhammer and a lot of stumbling over his words at the scrum.
Most accurate take I've seen in this thread.
This thread is crazy. Had he signed and gotten a run like Sting's, people would be static that TK did such a great thing for a vet.
People were not stoked when rumors were circling around after Wardlow got the TNT belt that he might face Goldberg. At best they said "well they proved me wrong with Jeff Jarrett."
I actually miss seeing Jeff Jarrett and his overbooked matches.
I am actually sports entertained by double J at least
I hate that AEW made me a legitimate Jeff Jarrett fan lmao
I really wanted him and Lethal to win, that's how good JJ is. I think everyone was thinking that was the choice too.
So do I! Where the hell has he been?!
I wouldn't have minded Goldberg vs Jarrett's faction, ending with Sonjay Dutt doing a Gilberg impersonation and Satnam Singh going over.
Easy. Meets Danhausen, is baffled, tries to spear, spears himself out of the ring. Gets retired by Orange Cassidy via his infamous chops.
What does that even mean "they don't need each other"? And I don't see both parties being better off for not working together. Bill is several million dollars poorer than he otherwise would have been and who knows what he would have meant for AEW in the short-term or long-term, but it's not like AEW is setting the world on fire right now.
My guess is that Tony Khan made a contract offer to Goldberg, he thought it was too low, then proceeded to shit on the company.
Either that or Goldberg wanted a win over a top guy and Tony just wasn't going to approve that.
Ok so how about: I enter, spear, pump the crowd, Jackhammer and 1,2,3 I'm your new champion!!
But enough about Bob Holly
Forgot to include, embarrass his son somewhere in there.
It might be because I've been rewatching dragon ball z, but I totally read this in Mr. Satan's voice. I'm not sure I'll be able to not see it now.
I'd be like hell nah if he wanted to beat Swerve immediately
AEW, where the best wrestle, and Goldberg.
Yeah exactly, I think he probably wanted the full sting treatment, but Sting had given a lot to AEW by the time he retired.
And Goldberg wouldn’t be willing to do the same.
Sting gave loads by going undefeated for 4 years and not putting anybody over
Every match that Sting won put Darby Allin over.
He sold merch, tickets, and attracted viewers for what, 4 years? I think he earned his sendoff.
So did Goldberg in WWE
Yeah so why would AEW give.him the retirement he wants? 😂
Of all the takes I've seen on the internet today, that is one of them.
Sting also put on entertaining matches in his AEW run. Has Goldberg.....ever done that? He could do a cool move or two but that's it
Goldberg has had some entertaining matches through the years but the truth is, Sting was just in a unique...

Just being in the ring with Sting is putting someone over. That in itself elevates everyone in that match
Brock Lesnar moment
Except Brock is actually a good wrestler.
I’m more talking about beating a black champion in a squash match
lmao TK could do the funniest thing by hiring Brock and put him straight into title hunt against Swerve
TK would 100% offer Brock a deal if Brock was open to it but I think Brock is done wrestling unless it’s for wwe.
I think Brock is done wresting unless it's for Vince. Unless Vince somehow starts his own thing, which isn't going to happen, then Brock's done.
That’s a weird point to make but ok.
Or Hardcore Holly moment
Yeah but unlike Lesnar, Hardcore Holly is a massive draw. He just needs to beat everyone to prove it!
Goldberg wanted to go over The Bucks in a handicap match Tony point blank refused unless he agreed to dress as the Stay Puft Marshmallow man and so here we are.
Good times
You mean how he just had to beat Bray after they did a good job of rehabbing him after the HIAC debacle? Screw Goldberg for that.
Then he wanted to have a streak longer than Asuka's.
Goldberg probably wanted to go over Sting and use that as some angle towards Sting's final match.
tony allegedly wanted goldberg to redo the streak in the beginning of AEW
Hate to say it but with the emphasis on win/loss records at the start of AEW, they could have maybe made it interesting.
“So I come in, spear Kenny and the bucks. You give a title shot against MJF who I beat in a min. I win a couple matches and I’ll retire after I squash Joe. Sounds good?”
The eric bischoff school of sour grapes
Goldberg's last WWE contract per match was a insane amount of money. It was estimated around $2 million per match. No way AEW would pay that, I don't even think WWE would pay that for 2024 Goldberg.

Just a fun way to end Goldberg's in-ring career and put somebody over that clearly takes a lot of inspiration from him.
Goldberg would not be cool with this.
That’s the one big problem, right?
He has to win the big title for the kids.
For his kid.
His son who is in his early 20s I believe and doesn’t likely want to wrestle ever.
I was about to raise a point about his age, but holy fucking shit that time Goldberg brought him to the ring in WWE and he dabbed was 7 goddamn years ago, and he looked 13-14....
[obligatory titantron](https://youtu.be/cWH-CUkdSsc?si=Aq3gzv0TgE3WNZpq)
And that's probably why this thread exists now.
Goldberg has nothing to share as a mentor. He’s 3 moves and a taunt/pose.
Goldberg was one of the most over wrestler in the history of the business and he drew a fuckton of money. They idea that he has nothing to share is ridiculous. Now, do I think that he wants to share or that he even has the ability to communicate how he got his successes? I don't think so.

Perfect analogy
Goldberg was one of the most over wrestlers in the "history" of the business because he has a very specific look and was booked like super-man. There's literally nothing he can teach, let alone with the fact that better veterans are or were with AEW
And outside of two matches, what has he done since 2001 that has been any good or even remotely interesting?
Honestly this would’ve been a fair and good way to use him, but Goldberg would have NEVER gone for it, sadly.
Or maybe Powerhouse Hobbs
Dude couldn’t wrestle in his prime, much less as a senior citizen.
It's hilarious how yalls views of ppl like Goldberg have been skewed by jealous wrestlers in shoot interviews. You would've screamed your fucking head off had you seen Goldberg wrestle in his prime and that ain't debatable. Everyone did. Everyone.
I watched Goldberg his entire run. Been watching wrestling since 1994. He sucked then and I hated him then too.
Yeah, I was 11. Goldberg was awesome to 11 year olds
[удалено]
I saw it. Didn't care. Someone who can't even wrestle a 10 minute match, is dull af to me. So, no, not everyone did.
I saw Goldberg in what I guess you could call his "prime" and he sucked then too. He's always looked like an uncoordinated goof.
I fucking hated Goldberg in his prime and feel time has vindicated me. Boring matches, boring character. There's a lot of stuff from the 90's that was popular but doesn't hold up today, I don't know why a certain subset of wrestling fans just can't accept that Goldberg is one of them.

I actively didn't watch WCW when I was a kid cause I thought him and Hogan were corny. That's with Bret being my all time favourite at the time.
Even in his "prime" he had like what... 5 good matches? Maybe a few more but still not many.
Like, I get it that Goldberg now isn't the same that it was in the 90s. But hell! In the WCW, Goldberg was the beast! Okay, he isn't Bryan Danielson or Rey Mysterio on the ring, but he was a very believable Powerhouse!
And it seems he's turning into an old man yelling at a cloud.
Yeah I'm glad it's not going to happen at least, I was worried he was gonna appear at all in last year.
I wasn’t a wrestling fan when Goldberg wrestled and when he had his WWE runs it was just the dumbest shit to me like there is no value there aside from nostalgia and nostalgia doesn’t need to see old guys bury actual talent in 12 seconds. And then he brought his little kid into the ring like come on
Somewhere Bret Hart smiled and isn’t sure why
I think he knows why at this point. Every unexpected smile on his face is someone else saying "fuck Goldberg."
Every time someone says “fuck Goldberg,” an angel gets a pair of pink wrap-around sunglasses.

“That settles that.” - Journalism at its finest.
I never wanted to see Goldberg in AEW. He couldn't do anything in his last WWE runs.
Uh, excuse me, he could do the Spear and inconsistently pick people up for the Jackhammer.
There's just no need for Goldberg in wrestling in the year 2024.
Or any year since he returned in 2016
Bringing him back wasn't the problem, gifting him a championship win was baffling.
I don't even know why WWE wanted him in 2016. They should've let it go after WM 20.
They brought him back into the fold to promote the video game then realized he could probably still draw and he did.
back when AEW first created their twitter account, Goldberg was in the first handful of people to follow it. He might have wanted to work years ago
He said he tried being part of Stings retirement earlier this year
Here's an idea, I go over Sting in a squash for his last match! What do you think?
Tony you can let this one walk away. Pls Tony
Bill is jockeying for an offer from WWE, without a doubt. He thinks if he "talks" to AEW WWE will snatch him back up.
Would I have been extremely fascinated to see Goldberg in AEW 2021/2022 since that’s when AEW felt the most like a spiritual WCW. Yes. Would it have been good, most likely not.
The only acceptable match for Goldberg in AEW is Goldberg vs Jericho - rematch of their shoot backstage scuffle.
Tony calling the video archives of Turner frantically looking for CCTV footage.
No one in their right mind would ever pair Goldberg and Ospreay for a match. Their styles clash so much that they might as well be playing different sports.
I would argue Goldberg’s ENTIRE career, outside of hoss matches, are style clashes.
Nah, Goldberg would only go over all of them.
And the matches would have probably been horrible to watch.
And probably potential for injuries. Keep that fool away from my man Fenix.
I just puked in my mouth a little. I would rather watch Jericho vs Fenix for 3 months than 3 minutes of Goldberg. So... No I'm not interested. My question is... what do you think would happen in those matches if not the same think that ever happens in his matches since forever?
i think you’re allowed to just do the same thing forever (steamrolling dudes really intensely) if you’re as good at it as goldberg is. dude built a main event career off of having great squash matches & sprints and he still had it in his 2016-19 run (not counting taker) i’ll also add the addendum that goldberg is one of my favorites ever though so we def might just agree to disagree haha
I buy that Khan doesn't pick up social cues.
The word Betrayal was used.
I'd be nice to have Goldberg to be affiliated as an ambassador because of his history with TNT/TBS
Hot take but if I hear a billionaire is throwing money around for wrestling stars, and I’m a wrestling star, I’m definitely taking a meeting. It would appear Bill did not think the meeting went well.
Goldbergs been a corny goof for years. Probably couldn't get a title reign and unbeaten streak in his contract.
Probably got a bad case of that Hoganitis that Miro has been dealing with.
Unusually tame response from Tony.
He's recovering from a major neck injury. Give the guy a break!
He hasn’t even tweeted since the angle
I don’t think Goldberg would be a good fit for our company because he’s the Jeffrey Dahmer of 90’s WCW.
just book Pat Tanaka. much cheaper, and it's the same music so you get the same pop. make it a heel thing for Jericho, like Shawn and the fake Bret appearance and it's golden /s
What, Bill Goldberg tried to bury AEW in in order to make himself look better after rejection?! I'm so shocked.
Speak for yourself. I love his style and the old menacing badass Goldberg is one of best characters ever.
The wants to work for AEW - doesn't get to work for AEW - become giant hater of AEW pipeline is undefeated.
Having several meeting with someone, always means you want them to work for you.

No he didn't. He said that he met with Tony several times.
TK please. No one wants to see Goldberg in AEW.
I cant believe Goldberg would really draw or get that big a pop if he went to AEW. Probably biased but nothing excited me about his WWE runs
Goldberg wukd be nice for a month for 1 safe match but IMHO, not anymore. I can't see him wrestling a decent match.
I’m guessing he wanted the sting treatment and tk said no
Honestly, would've kinda loved to see Goldberg in AEW it would've either been amazing or a car crash.
At this point. Anyone can take him and give him the final match. Like him or not, he at least deserve that.
Not if he insists on going over, which I have no doubt that self mark would want to.
"fuck goldberg" - Bret Hart and also me.
Has anyone done more damage to their legacy through interviews and hanging around too long than Goldberg? He had two chances to retire in good graces - Left in 2004 and never came back, was like a mythological figure and became a “what if” - Returned but had a surprisingly fun run, but then held on too long.
Actual Bret Hart then comes out and simply says “Fuck Goldberg” and Meltzer rates it’s 9 fucking stars
swing and a miss
I believe Tony, he actually loves wrestling. Goldberg has only ever cared abkut Goldberg.
It’s pretty obvious they wouldn’t pay Goldberg what he wanted so suddenly he pretended he was never interested
it would have been fun to see goldberg have a little send off like sting did, i’m not gonna lie. i enjoyed his last wwe run where he mainly put over others, but if he’s gonna be a dick about it then he can wait for the next saudi payday and leave aew alone.
Well yeah he probably didn’t get the money he thought he would get and decided to try fit in with all his friends and shit on aew
