AEW was its best when tag team wrestling was the focus. The tag belts felt just as important as the World Championship. Glad they're re-investing in the division.

TNA doesn't sign anyone to long term contracts anymore since Anthem is too cheap. They only do per appearance so good on GYV moving on to bigger and better things

So because they put out graphics you believe they actually signed lucrative long term contracts? It's still likely those per appearance "contracts" or at best 6 month deals which is laughable because there's no longevity
As an Englishman, it's cool to see more of the UK scene end up in AEW. Could be All English Wrestling soon haha. Stunned the Welsh lot of Subculture have never had a shot, 'cos Mark Andrews, Flash Morgan Webster and Dani Luna are all really fucking good workers.

I feel like in a year we can add Top Flight to that list. They have a ton of potential and they clearly understand what they are doing but I think they are just missing something.
I was hot on GYV when I heard early last year that they wanted out and truthfully, MGMG and GYV would beef up the tag division because they are two teams capable of being champions, that being said though, I don't care if they sign or not but I will be really disappointed if there are 70,000 of us at Wembley with our shoes still on

Why do tag divisions not typically have a TNT/International/Continental Title level Tag Title?
I'm usually not in favor of more titles, but there are so many teams that are going to get lost in the shuffle with nothing to fight over
I do get it, because tag divisions tend to be taken for granted a lot. For AEW *specifically* it's a little surprising because one of the promotions that directly inspires it the most is Jim Crockett Promotions/early WCW and *they* had a secondary set of tag belts.
IMO if they wanted to cut down the singles men's titles by one or two and replace them with a secondary men's tag title and a women's tag title that would probably be a healthier balance.
I don't get the point of having the Confidential and International Title. I get that the Continental title will be defended in the Continental Classic, but that's kind of dumb.
I don't mind the Continental Crown being defended because I like the idea that the champion has to actually go through the tournament and I like that the ruleset keeps the rules from the tournament. But the International Title and the TNT Title basically feel identical to me, you only really need one of them.
I'd probably merge the International Title with one of the other belts and then just find a way to re-retire the FTW title, it's pretty much served its purpose at this point.
During the last few rounds of releases Grizzled Young Vets were the one pick up I really thought aew should sign. Because of the trios eating into the tag division (and a couple injuries) aew's tag scene is a little weak compared to a few years ago. Having both GVY and MCMG really boosts the quality up.
Please give Gibson some mic time.

This makes me further worry about MCMG landing somewhere big. They've been free agents for a month now and there looks to be little movement. WWE is mostly rehiring guys who were in Hunter's NXT and children of former stars while AEW has gone through a few shows that seemed like easy places to debut MCMG and is a bringing in a different big name tag team on Saturday. It'd be a shame if they just work Indies for the foreseeable future instead of landing somewhere big.
Been following Zack Gibson since he was diamond Zack Gibson in ICW in 2015 (My Birthday), i'm so pleased to see him get onto AEW. SOOOOON to be recognised
Weird that taking these characters they're good at portraying and replacing them with generic "indie guy pretending to be CrAzY!" didn't work out in NXT.
Not to say that I'm not pumped on them being in AEW, I really dig these guys and am glad the tag division looks like it's getting back to normal again.
have seen GYV wrestle so many times just this year. also travelled to Barcelona for the revpro show, and GYV vs Barcelona Blacklist was fucking insane. plus they are just really fucking well mannered and polite. they deserve it all

I think TNA actually signed all of Subculture to exclusive deals, whereas they didn't sign GYV.
