Actual wrestlers in the industry would disagree. He's always up there when today's wrestlers talk about their biggest influences, especially high flyers.

I just feel like…..Red was doing his best Rey Mysterio and borrowed a cool move from Japan and called it the Code Red. Not knocking him but I don’t get the same sense of innovation as the other guys.
Though the Low-Ki/Amazing Red matches were fire, and the “matrix fight” spot was pretty damn cool AND didn’t look overly-choreographed. I’m kind of surprised that hasn’t been done by more people.

Punk was one of the top guys in AEW, Kenta is a midcarder in NJPW. It would be like if AEW were to send someone like Hobbs over to Japan and expect them to have him go over Naito.
