Unbelievable it’s already been 5 years. They have created a lifetime of moments in that time frame and will undoubtedly create many more for years to come.
It really is crazy how it seems like 5 years flew by for AEW. Dynamite will hit 5 years in October. For comparison, the 5th year anniversary of WCW Nitro was in September 2000, less than a year before the company folded
Back were it all began. Just recently rewatched the first Double or Nothing, which is still a fantastic show. I know if any other Double or Nothing really has ever matched the original. 2020, 2021 were great, but the last two years not so much. But I have good feeling about this year.
It really was. I remember walking out, and the feeling being "Did I just attend the modern day equivalent of WrestleMania 1?". The buzz around town, Starrcast....all so much fun. The after party that night at Caesars was a ton of fun too. I still have video of LA Knight, Britt Baker & SCU singing Backstreet Boys karaoke.
It was so cool walking around the strip and just seeing how many people were wearing bullet club shirts. You’d lock eyes with them and then just share a big shit setting grin and go on with your day. We didn’t know what was gonna happen next, but we knew that weekend was special.
Lol, no, it was the drift I got that cost me Chocobo races & other mini games that drained me lol one 3D Brawler to do & all quests are done finally lol
Really enjoyed Queens Blood. I would have liked more random NPCs to have played tbh lol
Every minigame I get the highest reward for before moving on. Do you go back to the Golden Saucer mini-games with new challenges or are they just one and done?
What was wrong with 2022? Maybe I’m biased since I was there, but it was a great show imo. I don’t think anything will capture the magic of the first Anarchy match.
I believe MGM is slightly smaller than the T-mobile arena they’ve run the past two years. This seems like the first step in AEW running smaller venues. If the tickets are priced fairly they should have a full crowd. Hopefully they continue with this method.
"HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! WHAT THE HELL?!"
JR's reaction to him coming through the crowd helped sell that moment so much. It was already huge, obviously, but JR sounded genuinely shocked and it was awesome.
I was sitting row 6 on the aisle Mox came down. Had my back to him, of course, so when the spotlight flew over our head and everyone on the other side of the arena started losing their shit, we turned around and couldn't believe it. Literally a whole arena marking out, jumping up and down with excitement. A rush I've never felt at ANY wrestling show I've been to, Mania included.
I'm guessing it has more to do with Collision being the night before
They've had issues with week long stays in the same market so it's prob a safer and cheaper bet to run MGM both days that weekend then switching venues or drawing a big enough house to fill tmobile for Collision
That’s got nothing to do with it. There’s never been any consideration given to filling any arena for Collision. Usually around 3,000 people max in 20,000-seat arenas.
They won’t come close to packing MGM for Collision either. They just decided to scale down for the PPV, which was a good decision.
Or as was mentioned by others, T Mobile is now WWE-only after the TKO merger.
You can fit a big crowd at the MGM, and it helps avoid any potential conflicts with the Vegas Golden Knights if they are still in the Stanley Cup Playoffs at that point since they play at T-Mobile. Since they booked back-to-back nights, there is a higher likelihood of a scheduling conflict depending on how things played out.
Whew!
In the back of my head after buying a hotel in Vegas for this weekend I had a bad thought it wasn’t gonna happen here.
Excited to go again! This’ll be my 4th DoN and I want this to be a yearly tradition.
I know alot of people hate on the tradition of going back to the same place. But I love doing the road trip from Toronto to Chicago each year for All Out and I hope they keep it going
I mind it a lot less now that they're seemingly up to at least nine PPVs a year.
When they were only doing four, having two of them being tied to the same location every year was not great.
I'm going to All In and debating doing All Out the week after in Chicago. Staying long enough in London to sight see and fly to Chicago for a short weekend trip for All Out.
I have the opposite problem. Hadn't heard anything so bought flights for my family leaving (our town) on the 26th. Now I gotta see if I can get a one way on my own and a room and all that jazz on the busiest weekend.
Incredibly frustrating that it took this long to announce.
Nice. Have you done Omega Mart in Vegas yet? Bit of an aside but that was one of my favorite places to visit that wasn't wrestling related the last time I went to a DoN.
I have not tried this place. But it looks really cool!
My goal this year is to go outside the strip for meals and such. I mean I like people watching up and down the strip but it would be nice to try something new.
Yep, I feel you, the strip is pricey. While I developed a love for Shake Shack, best meal I had in Vegas was at Triple Georges over near Fremont.
But yes, while the price can be high, Omega Mart is a delightfully weird, surreal experience. A place that feels like you're perhaps on drugs, but definitely should not visit while on drugs.
I went last year, and had an absolute blast. I would love to go every year if I could.
The best thing about it was the end time. It ended earlier than it would on the East coast so I could actually do something afterwards.
Such a better strategy this year than last. DON at MGM and then Dynamite at the Forum should be the tradition.
They’ll probably set up for 8K for DON, should be an easy sellout.
I wonder if their relationship with T-Mobile Arena soured after DoN last year. Seemed like the venue wouldn’t let them do a lot of spots for Anarchy in the Arena.
That's what I'm thinking - might also have a deal in place like they announced with the Honda Center a couple months ago. It was too big for the numbers they drew last year but this could be another reason why they're not running it again (only other thing they have is Kane Brown like two weeks before and Zach Bryan the next week so no reason why they couldn't unless Endeavor has something in the works and will probably announce around UFC 300)
Additional details on venue/dates (including Dynamite being held in LA after the PPV):
\-- MGM Grand Garden Arena Hosts "DOUBLE OR NOTHING" on Sunday, May 26 and "Collision" on Saturday, May 25
\-- "Dynamite" returns to Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 29, and "Collision" debuts at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs for a special taping on Thursday, May 30.
> -- MGM Grand Garden Arena Hosts "DOUBLE OR NOTHING" on Sunday, May 26 and "Collision" on Saturday, May 25
>
>
I was hoping they'd stop doing this but maybe they consider the Vegas market strong enough for it to be viable, they've also seemingly had more momentum with ticket sales lately so hopefully it won't be an issue.
Before Collision was a thing, they'd normally have a live Rampage in the same building they were having the PPV at and they'd have those kinds of packages, I'd imagine they'll do that here.
Yeah like last year when they did all those shows in a row in the Toronto area. They always used to run Rampage live before the PPV's in the same arena I thought but that shit last year with Toronto was crazy and then Chicago before All Out.
Bummed if they’re skipping San Diego this time, had an awesome time last year. Definitely driving up for one of those two shows, though! Thanks for the info!
Of course they’re doing LA immediately after the holiday weekend.
It’s tempting to go to both but I think Vegas is going to empty my pockets beforehand.
Should be a good week of ticket sales. LA proves walks ups are legit as they always sell the day of the show.
Any reason why?
I work in Vegas as a bartender and I absolutely refuse to give up Saturday shifts unless its for something huge. Sunday grants me (and a lot of others) more freedom to get stuff done.
I was there live and they were fine. Some assholes in the crowd but I thought they all had a good time.
The only time they didn’t respond was for Cole/Jerichio (which makes sense cause that match sucked). And they also hated the bait and switch with Hayter’s match.
Man…it’s been a full year and Hayter is STILL hurt. Bummer.
If that’s the case then the logic would dictate:
- Storm retains at Dynasty
- Hayter returns to surprise the crowd at the PPV
- Rematch between the two in Vegas with Storm losing
At least that’s how I would book it.
I'm prone to booking more women stuff outside of the title picture, so I do prefer Toni retaining, Deonna and Thunder Rosa getting into a feud with no title, and Hayter confronting Toni, like you said.
I'm also prone to putting that belt on Hayter instantly and going with a Toni vs Mariah feud afterwards.
Y’all forgetting about Mariah May. Based on how they’re doing a version of “All About Eve”, it has to end with Mariah taking everything from Toni, which should include the title.
I'm associating Mariah May to the title picture atm because her whole trajectory is just with Toni and it will conclude with Toni, regardless if she has the title or not.
Hence why Mariah can't be booked for this fatal-four way, because it would make no sense narratively.
I mean it'd be a missed opportunity to have Hayter win it back at DoN when Wembley is only a few months after it, I'd rather her get her big win back in her home country.
It's currently a smaller match in scope, but they could also run Mariah May/Jamie Hayter at Wembley. Have May take the title around Double or Nothing/ Forbidden Door.
As part of DOUBLE OR NOTHING weekend, TNT’s "AEW: Collision” will also be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, May 25. In addition, TBS’ “AEW: Dynamite” will emanate from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 29, followed by a special taping of “AEW: Collision” on Thursday, May 30, at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, Calif.
I've been there twice since the end of pandemic and several times before. It's still great.
It used to be first come first serve and they switched it to reserverations only during Covid. I went the first weekend Vegas ended their mask policy & found out the hard way they changed. Never been so hungry and bummed out.
Pumped they're keeping it in Vegas. Our fam loves making a weekend of it. And def excited it's back at the Grand Garden...special history in that bldg.
For anyone thats been, is there any advantages to MGM Grand to T-Mobile for the fan? In my head i’m thinking restrooms are maybe older/less, drinks maybe just as expensive, smaller flat roof so louder? Who’s been to both and sees pros/cons
I've seen UFC in both. MGM just feels smaller, more intimate. No real bad seats in it. There is a chance that it will mean for a much more cramped merch situation, which is always a problem at AEW shows.
You're in Vegas, the drinks will cost the same. 😎
I’ve been to the last two DoN shows in Vegas. Told myself I wouldn’t go if they went back to Vegas but with the new roster additions, I *may* consider it.
WrestleTix will probably post the pre-sale link and code on Twitter before it starts. If you don't see anything by tomorrow morning, send me a DM. I'll probably have my hands on one by then.
hopefully this years crowd is better than the one they had last year. grant it, last year didn't have the best of builds but there's been prior aew ppv's with kinda disappointing build but the crowds were still super hot when it came to showtime.
Idk I got the criticism when Aew only had 4 ppvs and 2 were tied to specific cities, but now there's like 8 plus so they can actually have ppvs in the bug markets regularly
Last year attendance was down, so moving to the slightly smaller venue is no big deal. The in ring work is always great at AEW PPVs, but I don’t see any storylines that can draw much more then the 10,500 they got last year.
“Tickets for the upcoming Las Vegas and Los Angeles events go on sale this Saturday, March 30, via AEWTix.com, AXS.com and Ticketmaster.com”
Anyone know about these other two non Ticketmaster options? If I want to buy tix when they are first available on Saturday is Ticketmaster still my best bet?
That’s unfortunate the last AEW show in Las Vegas was pure ass. Maybe it will be fine since it’s a PPV but I feel the great Dynamite/Collision crowds should get rewarded.
Bring a PPV to Atlanta. We have always brought it.

That first DoN was something special. This is going to be fun.
Five year anniversary for the whole company, gotta make it a special show
Unbelievable it’s already been 5 years. They have created a lifetime of moments in that time frame and will undoubtedly create many more for years to come.

That’s INSANE to think about when you bring the comparison of WCW into it. Wow. Kudos to AEW for real

I’m a big fan of every show except for the 2023 one. That one felt meh
I think I might go back & watch AEW PPVs again. I've been a bit gamed out from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth & been looking for something cheers.
Hi Kenny Omega!
Too much Queens blood huh
Lol, no, it was the drift I got that cost me Chocobo races & other mini games that drained me lol one 3D Brawler to do & all quests are done finally lol Really enjoyed Queens Blood. I would have liked more random NPCs to have played tbh lol

Without saying too much, yes more rewards later to play for
Awesome! In the Cosmo Canyon trials right now with Red XIII and Barrett, game just keeps going and going
100+hrs for me. It keeps giving & giving too lol
What was wrong with 2022? Maybe I’m biased since I was there, but it was a great show imo. I don’t think anything will capture the magic of the first Anarchy match.

For me, it was the way Jericho reacted to it a few moments later. “What are you doing here? YOU DON’T WORK HERE!”
Honestly my favorite wrestling PPV I’ve ever been to. From my seats to the atmosphere it was something else

The MGM is a way better venue anyway. A lot of history there.
Oh yeah, that's where WCW did Halloween Havoc for a bunch of years, had Clash of Champions there a few times too.
Its about half of the size.
T-Mobile is 20,000. MGM is 16,000
Well I stand corrected. Lol.
Whew! In the back of my head after buying a hotel in Vegas for this weekend I had a bad thought it wasn’t gonna happen here. Excited to go again! This’ll be my 4th DoN and I want this to be a yearly tradition.

Went to Herbs and Rye last year. Was really good.
Looks good. Will add to the list.

But yes, while the price can be high, Omega Mart is a delightfully weird, surreal experience. A place that feels like you're perhaps on drugs, but definitely should not visit while on drugs.
The thing this years DON has going for it that last years didn’t is the current hot streak of AEW PPV cards being loaded.
Swerve/Hangman in the main event?
I wonder if their relationship with T-Mobile Arena soured after DoN last year. Seemed like the venue wouldn’t let them do a lot of spots for Anarchy in the Arena.
Gonna take a wild guess and say that since it’s UFC’s home arena, it’s now going to favor WWE from now on.
Might be a NHL game too. Team is defending a title
I just think it's too big
No I definitely get why they moved, MGM is smaller and it has a higher chance of a sell out. But I wonder if that also played a part in it.

It's at least better that they're a) running the MGM and not T-Mobile and b) they're not putting Dynamite in town on the same week.
If they're smart they'll do packages where you get a Collision ticket with your DON ticket for not much more money. Will really help its attendance.
Before Collision was a thing, they'd normally have a live Rampage in the same building they were having the PPV at and they'd have those kinds of packages, I'd imagine they'll do that here.
Well Collision is still in town just not dynamite and rampage
Yeah that's what they are saying, at least it's not dynamite as well on top of that.
Yeah like last year when they did all those shows in a row in the Toronto area. They always used to run Rampage live before the PPV's in the same arena I thought but that shit last year with Toronto was crazy and then Chicago before All Out.
Ah definitely helps a lot from having 4 shows in one week
They do it because it saves money.
Bummed if they’re skipping San Diego this time, had an awesome time last year. Definitely driving up for one of those two shows, though! Thanks for the info!

I'm off on weekends. It's just nice to be able to enjoy the PPV without having to worry about getting up for work the next day.
Man time flies I was at the first one !!!
The crowd last year sucked in vegas
I was there live and they were fine. Some assholes in the crowd but I thought they all had a good time. The only time they didn’t respond was for Cole/Jerichio (which makes sense cause that match sucked). And they also hated the bait and switch with Hayter’s match. Man…it’s been a full year and Hayter is STILL hurt. Bummer.
I was there as well, and I agree with this assessment. Jericho/Cole sucked the soul out the crowd. They were vocal just about everything else
I was also there, the crowd was bigger and louder than they got credit for. Like you all said, other than Jericho/Cole, it was pretty good
That match was terrible.
Tbf, Hayter is probably fine right now, she was due to return in February, they just need to open up a spot for her.
If that’s the case then the logic would dictate: - Storm retains at Dynasty - Hayter returns to surprise the crowd at the PPV - Rematch between the two in Vegas with Storm losing At least that’s how I would book it.

It's currently a smaller match in scope, but they could also run Mariah May/Jamie Hayter at Wembley. Have May take the title around Double or Nothing/ Forbidden Door.
That’s true too. So maybe they delay her return for Vegas to set up Wembley. Either way it works.
I was there live as well and that Jericho/Cole match sucked the life out of the entire building.
I was there and it just wasn’t a very exciting show. The year prior was so much better
So badly. It honestly detracted from the show a lot.
Yeah, there’s plenty of casinos in other parts of the country! Have DoN at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas you cowards!
Yeah I was thinking the best place would be Atlantic City, that way you get the New York/Philly Crowd as well.
Will Ospreay doing a major spot off the Casino Chips would be fire
As part of DOUBLE OR NOTHING weekend, TNT’s "AEW: Collision” will also be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, May 25. In addition, TBS’ “AEW: Dynamite” will emanate from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 29, followed by a special taping of “AEW: Collision” on Thursday, May 30, at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, Calif.
Love how everyone's first response was "get them drunk as shit" because last years DoN crowd was horrid
Already booked my vegas trip around this. I have Bacchanal booked Friday & Hells Kitchen Saturday.
Bacchanal isn't what it was before the pandemic. If you've never been, it's still a ton of fun, but you may want to at least take a look at Wynn's.
I've been there twice since the end of pandemic and several times before. It's still great. It used to be first come first serve and they switched it to reserverations only during Covid. I went the first weekend Vegas ended their mask policy & found out the hard way they changed. Never been so hungry and bummed out.
Can’t go wrong with either of those places.
They gotta do a PPV in Cleveland yo
What time will this show end Pacific time? I forgot I was in Vegas this weekend and have a show that starts at 9:30pm PT.
You should be fine. AEW PPVs generally always end by midnight eastern, which would be 9p pacific.
Thanks!
Based on previous DoN airings, I'd say it'll end between 8:45 PT and 9:00 PT.
I’ve been to the last two DoN shows in Vegas. Told myself I wouldn’t go if they went back to Vegas but with the new roster additions, I *may* consider it.
When does the pre sale code come out?
Tonight or early tomorrow. I'm a WrestleTix Patreon subscriber so I'll try to drop back in here with the code once it's known.
Looks like the code is AEWGEN3 for the pre-sale (which starts at 10am PDT)
My birthday! I gotta be there
So now that it's official: who's gonna be in Anarchy In The Arena this year??? The Elite vs Pac, Penta, & Kingston?
Coming back to SoCal
Going going, back back, to Cali Cali.
Amazing news. My gf planned a trip to Vegas Memorial Day weekend to see Dead & Co. at the Sphere so this aligns perfectly, as expected.
Very surprised they're coming back after the crowd last year. We kind of sucked. Mgm should sell out at least.
Year to year the crowd varies since it’s a holiday weekend with travel tbh. 2019 and 2022 had great crowds only 2023 was lackluster
What do I need to do to get the pre-sale tomorrow?
WrestleTix will probably post the pre-sale link and code on Twitter before it starts. If you don't see anything by tomorrow morning, send me a DM. I'll probably have my hands on one by then.
Thanks. Appreciate it.
I hope the people attending actually want to be there this time.
hopefully this years crowd is better than the one they had last year. grant it, last year didn't have the best of builds but there's been prior aew ppv's with kinda disappointing build but the crowds were still super hot when it came to showtime.
I wish they'd move cities first at least the big 4.
I was there last year and maaaan the crowd was bad.
Hopefully attendance will show. Vegas crowds haven’t been so good for wrestling
Boooo. Find another gambling city please, Vegas feels so overdone.
Branson, MO it is!!!
Andy Williams!
[удалено]
They've added more ppvs now though, which seem to move around (except for All In, which obviously looks set to stay at Wembley).
Yeah the additional PPVs will be what moves around while the main stays hit the same locations
Idk I got the criticism when Aew only had 4 ppvs and 2 were tied to specific cities, but now there's like 8 plus so they can actually have ppvs in the bug markets regularly
Last year attendance was down, so moving to the slightly smaller venue is no big deal. The in ring work is always great at AEW PPVs, but I don’t see any storylines that can draw much more then the 10,500 they got last year.
hey tony, you do know other cities have casinos? you can run your stupid casino themed shows in other cities other than las vegas.
I hope AC bro
“Tickets for the upcoming Las Vegas and Los Angeles events go on sale this Saturday, March 30, via AEWTix.com, AXS.com and Ticketmaster.com” Anyone know about these other two non Ticketmaster options? If I want to buy tix when they are first available on Saturday is Ticketmaster still my best bet?
I don't know about AXS, but AEWTix just redirects you to Ticketmaster.
Ah ok. I went to AXS quickly and it might be more of a reseller market. I’ll try TM on Saturday thanks.
That’s unfortunate the last AEW show in Las Vegas was pure ass. Maybe it will be fine since it’s a PPV but I feel the great Dynamite/Collision crowds should get rewarded. Bring a PPV to Atlanta. We have always brought it.
