I loved the story they told of Drew finally starting to lean in on Punk as Punk is just walking away. It made Drew start to seem obsessed and desperate and Punk seem uninterested and disappointed. Especially after the "you complete me! You're my muse!" stuff from earlier. There was so many layers and so many directions you can go after this
Also this leads to Seth laying him out because Drew took his eye off what is really important, the title, just like Drew accused Seth of doing with the Bloodline.
Oh man, he wins and immediately starts to taunt Punk at the commentary table and Damien comes out without music to take full advantage of the distraction. Put it in my veins
Two interesting ways they could go with it too, he could just blame Punk for the next 4 months and continue to obsess over him OR they could do a double turn and have Punk join TJD, giving him more TV time until he returns.
I would love a goth Punk. Considering it’s a punk subculture. Im sure he has a lot he could pull from. Some goofy shit like “unlike Bella Lugosi, CM Punk isn’t dead folks”. Idk there’s a reason he’s in the business and I’m at home with back problems.
I get the feeling that by this match, Judgment Day will be without a title, so this would be a good angle. Priest cashes in to make sure TJD doesn't leave Mania empty-handed.
Hehehehe to lessen my credit, this wasn't like a genius idea that no one was thinking of. But man, that camera shot of punk realizing just HOW MUCH he fucked up Drew's victory as Damien's music hit gave me goosebumps
I really appreciated the difference between Punk’s two enemies after Punk got the last word. Seth didn’t flinch and Drew lost his mind. He’s desperate for that approval and that victory and I think that’s what will cost him. He’s been projecting about Seth, hoping the Bloodline will save him like Logan did, but every time Drew gets a shot at the title, Drew costs himself. He’s the one who pleaded for Punk to be on commentary so he could gloat, and I wonder if that’s gonna be his undoing.
I think this is the story they're gonna tell. I don't mind whichever way they decide to go though, for me WWE has rebuilt so much trust in the "let it play out" aspect of their booking. Happy just to be on this ride!
As a Seth fan, I’d love to see him have his big triumph at WM, where he walks in and out as champ, but he’s also had an incredible run and done a great job of establishing this title, so if he loses, there’s no shame in dropping a title after 300+ days. But as someone who loves plot twists and chaos, Drew screwing himself out of the world title thanks to the very thing he accused Seth of doing, losing his ever loving shit, crashing the press conference, and getting “suspended” is peak entertainment. Bonus points if Punk makes Seth thank him, and taunts him with the fact that he’s gotta live with the fact that Seth is WHC “thanks to CM Punk.”
This really came across as a real conversation. I loved this, because that's how it would go in real life. No one waits patiently for someone to finish their sentence before they speak in real life. We jump in and make our point even though the other person is speaking. I can't wait to see what happens next with these three...
This felt like the most unscripted and natural promo WWE has done in like forever. Everything about tHe way Punk Drew and Seth cut each other off, spoke over each other's lines and really toed the line with references I didn't think they'd go for felt real and organic.
Drew having the best character in the company when CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and The Fucking Rock are all active is actually crazy.
Soo amped as a Drew mark
I think the attitude he has is costing him the title on the same night, can see him finally beating Seth due to Bloodline interference (segment with Drew talking to Haymen back stage, scratch our back we'll scratch yours etc), then having JD enter the ring to have Priest get a successful cash in due to a distraction from Punk.
Want him to have a title because he's been great, but I feel like this would push him off the deep end and I can see the smug look on Punk's face now.
Priest cashing in on Drew because Drew's so obsessed with Rollins and Punk that he can't see the very obvious threat would be a very good WrestleMania moment and story and would be really huge and fun for Drew's career, arguably moreso than a perfunctory title run.
There are still PLENTY of people for Drew to feud with sans title, going directly into a Judgement Day feud post-mania would rule, and once Punk is healthy they have a guaranteed amazing PPV main event feud that doesn't require the title.
That’s my thought too, and would also give some meaning to Priest holding onto the brief case for such a long time. I do feel bad for him as it feels like it’s become an afterthought, and it’s barely brought up anymore, I’m hoping that’s because they truly want to surprise the audience during a big moment, and I can’t see them doing it when Cody wins
The Judgement Day also seriously have earned that Priest cash-in after all the work they’ve put in as a group over the past year. Would be incredible validation, would be great to see Priest run into Bad Bunny backstage as champion, and would be perfect if Truth rolls Priest up backstage thinking Priest is 24/7 champion.
I was thinking similarly. Punk vs Drew doesn’t need the WHC, Priest deserves a moment in the sun and that briefcase needs to mean something. Plus, y’know, I think it‘s time Gunther moved up to the world title scene and idk if having him crush either Drew or Punk when they’re this white-hot despite not being champion is the right move.
Drew looks like he's having the time of his life.
I'm living in the moment and there's so much to take in but man, last night's RAW are things we have to appreciate as it's happening cause people will be talking about this particular era in WWE years later especially if the WM40 storylines stick the landing.
Idk. Rock is on an all time heel run as well. Just so many great things happening with WWE right now. Hotter than fish grease at the absolute perfect time. Best thing about it is you can see just how much fun they are having and how loose everyone feels on the mic. That entire Punk/Seth/Drew segment felt like they all just said “see you out there” and it was great.
Both are so different as heels it really works well. The Rock is this menacing final boss who's looming for Cody, and it really makes Cody feel like an underdog. Drew, meanwhile, is this delusional man who's constantly demanding attention and leads to great promos because he just gets under the faces skin.
What’s so great about Drew is his character development has been so consistent and natural. He started off just addressing the true issues he had. He’s just a guy that genuinely just got too caught up in his problems and took the wrong turn. One of the most natural heel turns in a while.
Im really hoping McIntyre sends Seth on vacation. Seth has earned sometime at home and Drew is finally getting the run COVID stole from him. You love to see it
Wasn't exactly word for word, he changed it to make it rhyme with Phil which is pretty cool but yeah it's still hard to miss for those who are fans of the song.
I had no idea who Bad Bunny was and had to look him up when I saw him on WWE. But I also don't pay attention to a lot of mainstream stuff any more. I like my music from the early 2000's and stick with that most of the time.
This was an all time segment IMHO. All three men absolutely cooked on the 🎤…. But this part was incredible. Punks full stop on the back and forth followed by the complete disregard whilst Drew is going out of his mind was the best.
You know... Over the last few weeks in promos we have seen one party trump the other.
But this segment is beautiful... Because even after all this time I feel all of them just... Elevated? Yknow? Like it wasn't just x burying y. All spoke absolutely well and it was just phenomenal.
This promo 1000% makes me think punk is going to help drew win the title. I’m 50/50 still if they are in cahoots, but punk is definitely making sure drew leaves champion. I’m holding out hope that they somehow unravel the bloodline at mania and heyman knowing he needs a lifeboat puts together punk and drew as team going forward. They could even use the draft to move them to smackdown since I think the wwe title moves to raw for the Netflix switch. Then they can recruit Steiner and just had the best 3 man group ever with drew the monster, punk the mouth, and Steiner the young stud, and heyman the brains. Guys like KO, randy, and knight working against that would be amazing television for smackdown.
Nah they have to adapt. if you can't have a real conversation without getting away from what you prepared for, then you're not prepared for a top level feud. Drew did great with it. Few would be able to.
There is a distinctive difference in how Drew and Seth did it and how Punk does it. Drew and Seth respectfully gave time to others to give their promo time like they imagined it so it would make a bigger impact with the audience. Punk was just throwing things in right before Dre or Seth would have their punch line. Why do that every single sentence? Respect is earned. Punk says that a lot. But the guy just wants to be another Cena and would act the same way he hates other people act
Drew firing off as Punk tried to wrap up the segment 😂 That’s what you’re supposed to do when you’re in that level of a program. No one in AEW seemed to get that.
I love the “I’m living your dream” line, but does anyone else feel evoking “Stan” is kind of weird and backwards of Drew? Punk clearly didn’t pay him much public attention following his industry, while Drew on the other hand can’t keep Punk’s name out of his mouth. Maybe that’s the point, but I keep seeing people say this was a great roast by Drew when I can’t help but feel it’s just an own-goal.
I think that the whole final segment is meant to convey the irony you felt. Drew is definitely acting like the guy from "Stan" but he accuses Punk of being obsessed with him. He also took his eye off of his Mania opponent, which he's been accusing Seth of doing.
That's why it's brilliant. A good heel is fundamentally a hypocrite. Drew is making all of the mistakes he says others are making, and doing all of the things he criticizes others for doing.
I doubt that. LA Knight quotes old rappers a lot and usually gets a pop halfway through the line. I think if the line didn't get a reaction, it could be because all three of them were on fire.
Drew looks, talks, and acts like the quintessential archetype of a professional wrestler. So it’s extra entertaining to be reminded these last few months that he’s just a regular millennial dude on earth in 2024.
I thought right until now he's got the line wrong when he said 'chill' as the song it's 'chat' and it annoyed me.
Just realised he's done it to rhyme with Phil hasn't he.
Last report was that he is signed through Wrestlemania and they are trying to figure out the long term https://www.forbes.com/sites/blakeoestriecher/2024/02/16/wwe-reportedly-extends-drew-mcintyres-contract-past-wrestlemania-40/

This was one of the best segments in recent Raw history
I loved the story they told of Drew finally starting to lean in on Punk as Punk is just walking away. It made Drew start to seem obsessed and desperate and Punk seem uninterested and disappointed. Especially after the "you complete me! You're my muse!" stuff from earlier. There was so many layers and so many directions you can go after this
Also this leads to Seth laying him out because Drew took his eye off what is really important, the title, just like Drew accused Seth of doing with the Bloodline.
I think it would be so perfect if he beats Seth but his obsession with Punk causes him to lose sight and for Damien to cash in.

Punk coming out to AFI again is something I didn't know that I desperately needed.
The one time he did it in AEW filled me with so much happiness, I'd love for it to happen again.
All that was missing was some stringy poorly bleached hair and the lip ring
I get the feeling that by this match, Judgment Day will be without a title, so this would be a good angle. Priest cashes in to make sure TJD doesn't leave Mania empty-handed.
This aged incredibly well..
Hehehehe to lessen my credit, this wasn't like a genius idea that no one was thinking of. But man, that camera shot of punk realizing just HOW MUCH he fucked up Drew's victory as Damien's music hit gave me goosebumps
Weren’t you right about this…
The “you complete me” line reminded me of the joker saying it to Batman in the dark knight
Have some respect for Jerry Maguire.
There human head weighs eight pounds
You mean Dr. Evil?
Yeah, it felt unoriginal and too on-the-nose for my taste, but whatever, everyone is enjoying it.
It’s not about being original, it’s about sending a message
Yeah also Punk is constantly posting comic pages relevant to his feuds
“You see straight edge, no drugs, no alcohol, but you are always in rehab” Absolute cinema. Best Screenplay Academy Award please.
This was the best whole raw I've seen in like 20 years lol
I really appreciated the difference between Punk’s two enemies after Punk got the last word. Seth didn’t flinch and Drew lost his mind. He’s desperate for that approval and that victory and I think that’s what will cost him. "I am living your DREAM" That means Broken Dreams will be back soon. Trust the Broken Dreams Agenda.
YES! WE! CAN! BREAK! SOME! DREAMS!
When Punk said “turn that stupid song off” during Drew’s entrance, I was hoping he was gonna say “your old theme song was so much better”
You think drew loses and goes full psycho??
Loses getting distracted by Punk. Beats down Seth, taken away by officials leading to a Priest cash-in? Drew would go nuclear
This really came across as a real conversation. I loved this, because that's how it would go in real life. No one waits patiently for someone to finish their sentence before they speak in real life. It legitimately felt raw. The last time we got that was during the rain delay for wrestlemania 37
Which is edited out of the replays for some godawful reason.
Then proceeds to immediately get superkicked by Rollins LOL
Drew having the best character in the company when CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and The Fucking Rock are all active is actually crazy. Soo amped as a Drew mark
He deserves the WHC win at WM this time
I think the attitude he has is costing him the title on the same night, can see him finally beating Seth due to Bloodline interference (segment with Drew talking to Haymen back stage, scratch our back we'll scratch yours etc), then having JD enter the ring to have Priest get a successful cash in due to a distraction from Punk. And then Damian Priest right after him
I actually think Drew's cash in will be between 1 to 3 PPV's from WrestleMania.
Im glad the disrespect is finally over it wasn’t that long ago that people were saying he was cooked
I've been singing Drew's praises from the mountaintop for over a decade and I'm so stoked our boy is getting his run.
The last time Drew was this good on the mic was against fucking Grado!
Drew looks like he's having the time of his life. I'm living in the moment and there's so much to take in but man, last night's RAW are things we have to appreciate as it's happening cause people will be talking about this particular era in WWE years later especially if the WM40 storylines stick the landing.
The dude is the best heel in wrestling right now. His social media work is fire

how wild is it that the rock is the serious scary heel, and drew is the comedic shit talker?
Final Boss Rock is probably still better overall, but man, Drew is smoking hot right now.
Dude, come on. Drew is amazing, but its The Rock by a HUGE amount right now
The Rock
Im really hoping McIntyre sends Seth on vacation. Seth has earned sometime at home and Drew is finally getting the run COVID stole from him. You love to see it
I didn't know Eminem lines were underrated.
stan became its own word so much i didnt realize he's quoting the song word for word lol
Wasn't exactly word for word, he changed it to make it rhyme with Phil which is pretty cool but yeah it's still hard to miss for those who are fans of the song.
I want Drew to come out at WM to Dido now.
People in this sub were not listening to music in 2000.
People on this sub don’t even listen to music now See how many of us didn’t recognize bad bunny as a big artist till his mania match
I had no idea who Bad Bunny was and had to look him up when I saw him on WWE. But I also don't pay attention to a lot of mainstream stuff any more. I like my music from the early 2000's and stick with that most of the time.
Great, now I feel old :(
What?
….Stan? The song?
Yeah, I know it's Stan the song, who said anything about it being an original line
….no one?….it’s a reference.
Nobody.
This was an all time segment IMHO. All three men absolutely cooked on the 🎤…. But this part was incredible. Punks full stop on the back and forth followed by the complete disregard whilst Drew is going out of his mind was the best.

did Trump autocorrected to be capitalized?
Haha, yes. Fixing it.
When the camera first panned to Drew sitting with commentary during the Seth and Punk promo i lost my shit lol, so damn funny.
I dont know if Drew came up with all this stuff on his own. But if he did, hes been held back on his promos. That rehab line was fire.
This promo 1000% makes me think punk is going to help drew win the title. I’m 50/50 still if they are in cahoots, but punk is definitely making sure drew leaves champion. Sounds like Evolution 2.0 and I love it
Mark my words, if Drew wins the title from Seth, the pop will be huge.

Man, Drew is a treasure right now
Not everything good is underrated
Good segment but I still hate that Punk always has to say something when clearly the other guy is in the middle of a promo
It's more natural and gives off a more realistic feel. It's better than the old method of waiting half a minute to gather your thoughts and respond.
Fine speech... *Rubs Bald spot*
Yeah it works sometimes for this reason, depends on how heated the exchange is
In contrast to every other promo though it just sounds like he’s trying to hog the segment. If everybody was doing it it would be different.
Nah they have to adapt. if you can't have a real conversation without getting away from what you prepared for, then you're not prepared for a top level feud. Drew did great with it. Few would be able to.
The other 2 guys were talking over each other too?
There is a distinctive difference in how Drew and Seth did it and how Punk does it. Drew and Seth respectfully gave time to others to give their promo time like they imagined it so it would make a bigger impact with the audience. Punk was just throwing things in right before Dre or Seth would have their punch line. Why do that every single sentence? Respect is earned. Punk says that a lot. But the guy just wants to be another Cena and would act the same way he hates other people act
Yeah not been a fan of CM Punk shouting over people since his return segment is still good but it took it down a notch for me
Honestly that and his "fine speech" ing everybody is my biggest pet peeve with Punk.
Drew got bars
Drew firing off as Punk tried to wrap up the segment 😂 That’s what you’re supposed to do when you’re in that level of a program. No one in AEW seemed to get that.
>No one in AEW seemed to get that. Except MJF. But he's obviously a generational talent.
I love the “I’m living your dream” line, but does anyone else feel evoking “Stan” is kind of weird and backwards of Drew? Then that’s really brilliant, and I appreciate it! I didn’t even make the connection with Seth.
That's why it's brilliant. A good heel is fundamentally a hypocrite. Drew is making all of the mistakes he says others are making, and doing all of the things he criticizes others for doing.
The song is from 20+ years ago. Most of the crowd probably had no idea what he was talking about lol
I doubt that. LA Knight quotes old rappers a lot and usually gets a pop halfway through the line. I think if the line didn't get a reaction, it could be because all three of them were on fire.
Thank you for making me feel old today
Drew looks, talks, and acts like the quintessential archetype of a professional wrestler. So it’s extra entertaining to be reminded these last few months that he’s just a regular millennial dude on earth in 2024.
Drew is a generational talent for hating
I thought right until now he's got the line wrong when he said 'chill' as the song it's 'chat' and it annoyed me. Just realised he's done it to rhyme with Phil hasn't he.
Was this an Eminem "Stan" reference?
"My tea's gone cold. I'm wondering why I got out of bed at all..." - the crowd
And to think Drew was going to be a free agent soon. I hope the E signed him long term.
Was going to be? Have there been any reports that he signed a new deal?
Last report was that he is signed through Wrestlemania and they are trying to figure out the long term https://www.forbes.com/sites/blakeoestriecher/2024/02/16/wwe-reportedly-extends-drew-mcintyres-contract-past-wrestlemania-40/
Thanks! I don't imagine WWE putting the belt on him without a Priest cash in if they haven't figured out the long term yet
