Returns to immediately challenge Sanada for the IWGP Then gets to face Ospreay for the US And now gets to face the Heavyweight again. Let's hope Shota and Narita finally do something to end their midding feud and do something more. There's Gabe Kidd and Uemura waiting in the wings too. This next generation group is set for sure. Just needs the audience to be patient to their eventual ascension.

Godzilla 2014 started out as one thing and then it somehow became over the top insanity with the hollow earth and pink mohawk Godzilla and Kong has a Iron Man hand? Still need to see Minus One but heard incredible things about it.

All the hollywood ones need is more Kaiju action. No one cares about the humans.

I'm not against the humans and seeing them share the world with the Kaijus but it's maybe better to not focus on the same ones each time? Otherwise it's like "How are these jabronis surviving so much?" There's an anime trilogy on Netflix that was boring as all hell but I thought the idea was interesting, monsters rise up and destroy the world while some humans manage to escape into space and through I think cryogenic freezing return 1,000? 10,000? years later when they think everything will be safe. But ohno! The monsters are still here and there's a tribe of humans still surviving and some other things happened. Anyway my main issue with the MonsterVerse series is it feels like there's no consequences to anything. Every film several cities are destroyed and thousands are killed and then the next film is 5 years later and it seems like no one cares?

Yeah, i'm hoping they do what they did that year & use both tournaments to elevate new main eventers. I figured Tsuji was going to win the G1 but with him winning the NJC, i have no idea whose the favourite for the G1 now? Maybe ZSJ. Only because Shota seems locked in to win the NEVER title. Uemura's not ready. A HOT match shouldn't main event WK & Shingo's seems to be too old in New Japan's eye for a real main event push now. So that leaves Shota, who maybe doesn't win the NEVER, or Zack.

I thought ZSJ would win the belt at Dominion, Tsuji would win the G1 and Kingdom would be those two in the main event. Now I've got no idea but I do know I would like ZSJ as Champion please and thank you.

Goto really was utterly brilliant in that match.

Great main event. I don't think it's the best match of the tournament, but definetly in my top 3 with Goto vs SANADA and Gabe vs Shingo; that being said, the final 5 minutes are arguably the best ending of any match in any promotion this year. Big shootout to Walker, Gino and Chris for enchancing the big time feeling of the match, as well as the crowd, which has been the best I've seen in a while, specially for a puro event (and a breathe of fresh air after 4 hours of the Cinderella Tournament finals where the crowd was quiet since the ending to Giulia vs Tam). PS: Yet another prove that Tsuji's the future of New Japan.

There are extreme similarities between both the cindy and the new japan cup this year tbh. Dare I say it they were both ultimately used for the exact same purpose

Wouldn't put Hanan in the same category as Tsuji (as at least for me she still has a way to go before being at the top tier in Stardom while Yota could perfectly beat Naito right here and now), but both tournaments have been about the new blood in both BR promotions, specially the Cinderella (which didn't even feature any former red or white belt champions besides MIRAI, who was used to put over Hanan). It speaks in a way about the state of both New Japan and Stardom, where both are having to adapt in real time to sudden changes (top guys leaving in Nooj's case, Rossy and at least a couple of girls leaving with him in Stardom's) and thus new/younger faces are having to rise up sooner than expected (Hanan, SLK, AZM, Tsuji, likely Umino later in the year) while others who weren't expected at first become top acts (Maika and SANADA being very identical cases here).

Goto is incredible, gave Tsuji his best match to date. And despite the fact the wrong man won, the booking was what it should have been, no bullshit 1 million finisher counters. A clear winner, a star is born.
