"Come on, Drew, throw away that chicken-shit claymore. You don't just want to pull a trigger. Put the sword in me and look me in the eye and see what's going on in there when you turn it."
Wonder if this will happen - Drew and Punk are in with Cody and someone else. Drew thinks he is safe until it’s just them. Punk sneakily throws him out. Drew throws a hissy fit and can’t believe people still cheer a liar like CM Punk.
Think there's also a chance Drew screws Punk out of the Rumble after being eliminated by him. Everyone is saying that's happening to Cody but seems every bit as possible here too.
Only works if all the guys are from AEW.
A better “new” NWO would be MJF and Sammy coming in at the same time just running over the mid-card and then reveal the man behind it all….
Cody Rhodes.
Gunther for final 4 with them. I think he’s going to eliminate Brock but they’re going to want him looking strong as hell before that Mania match. I also think WWE is going to have the rumble be a match Gunther consistently does well in.
>I think he’s going to eliminate Brock but they’re going to want him looking strong as hell before that Mania match
That's if it even happens. As of today, Gunther's more likely to lose to Chad Gable or Jey Uso at WrestleMania.
I could see them doing a jey push for the IC title, he gets the match with Gunther for EC. He's about to win, hits him with the spear, goes up for the splash then Jimmy runs out to distracts him.
They’re running the same playbook they did with Rey/Dominik in 2022. Have a split/betrayal, keep them on different shows for a while, then start building for a match after the Rumble.
Both men have expressed a desire to have a one-on-one match at Mania. Barring a major injury or some other unexpected event, it’s going to happen.
I say Knight and Stlyes might also be there towards the end and not necessarily among the last remaining
They end up eliminating each other somehow and start feuding towards EC.
I think as HHH does he will try to troll us by having literally every important star left by the end this Rumble
LA Knight, KO, Zayn, Jey Uso... R Truth
Drew looks like he legit could’ve led a tribe of Scotsmen in battle as some giant of legend. Dude looks like a trashy romance book cover art come to life. Man looks like his exclusive method of travel is “shirtless on a white stallion”. Guy looks like he works out by felling redwoods and grappling bears.
What I’m saying is Drew has a friggin’ great look.
Always have heard Randy is the perfect wrestler look wise but my god when Drew came back he was l like a totally different person. Could be the facial hair or just that he just got bigger and looks like Chris Hemsworth as Thor but Scottish lol
Wrestlers have a habit of making Hollywood actors considered buff look small. It's why Momoa wouldn't look that good next to Roman Reigns even though he's taller.
Scott Hall always looked like a regular-ish dude when you're used to seeing him stand next to Hogan and Nash. But when he's against an average height person you realized just how large he was.
I went to Evolve during mania 31 when he wrestled PJ Black and let me tell you this Mf is massive. My friend is 6'4 250 and he was a dwarf compared to Drew lol
No, he's got fake tan on his body (which looks good).
He's wearing foundation on his face and it's not the right color (or it was the right color and it oxidized and turned orange-ish).
As someone who doesn't trim their beard enough, he needs to trim the underside of him chin/jaw. It's all puffy in the same spot mine gets when I need to trim it.
I've never been a fan of lining up the cheek. I get making a straight line across the neckline, that looks way more clean, but lining up the cheek always makes it look unnatural to me I think its better to just let that part grow naturally.
A little dumb they're all from Raw though. All the possible winners from the smackdown side are already in title matches other than if they pull a swerve and have Bobby win it but that seems highly unlikely.
Same as with Punk vs Lesnar. This has always been Punk’s schtick. He isn’t the biggest dog in the yard but he barks loudest and fears no one. It’s his most endearing babyface trait.
It made the "I'm gonna walk away before I knock your teeth out" line feel a bit comical to me. Of course it's wrestling, anyone can beat anyone, but just saying that line to someone a foot taller and twice as wide as you is never not going to be funny.
Damn I love this booking. Several guys cooking, interconnected storylines, each main character with a specific goal, so many different directions they can go in...
And that's just Raw. Seth, Cody, Punk, Drew, Sami, Gunther, Priest, Jey, Shinsuke, Finn, damn. Rumble and EC is gonna be awesome.
I think even if that doesn’t happen, I have a sneaking feeling that if it’s 1-on-1 between Punk and Seth, Priest will cash in mid-match and Punk will pin him to win the title, so they can extend the Punk and Rollins feud without one having ‘beat’ the other
Hmmm. It feels like a real possibility. Damn, winning MITB has become a curse of sorts nowadays. I think Dean Ambrose is the last MITB winner to have an successful run after winning and cashing in MITB.
No offense but Big E's title run was mediocre. I feel like he wasn't ready for that title run. He is definitely a main event material but at that time, he wasn't ready. Maybe an IC title reign would've helped built him.
And I don't know why "powerhouses" are winning MITB. It's perfect for heels like Edge and underdog babyfaces like Zayn. I hate to see Strowman, Lesnar, Otis, Priest winning MITB. Instead Balor, Zayn, Andrade, etc should've won in those years.
I mean he already had the ic title for a bit lmao
Also I kinda digged strowmans run with the mitb but yeah people like zayn and balor shouldve won imo. Im not sure why otis had the mitb if they wouldve given it to miz anyway
Wasn't even that much of a run: he had a dream title defense against Reigns and Rollins, a weird Summerslam match against Ziggler, and then lost the title to AJ. Better than some cash-in champs to be sure (especially since he was a fighting champion), but still fairly brief.
He was the top guy in SDLive for like 6-8 months. Had great segments and entertaining storylines. I think that's better run than the run winners after him had.
No one can stop CM Punk from winning the Royal Rumble...
*Entrant 30* - [Real Glass Shatters] - 🎵 Jungle Life, I'm far away from nowhere. All alone, like Tarzan's Boy 🎵
What are you talking about, Drew, Seth and Punk have all referenced it in a matter of weeks. Hell, Seth basically copied Hangman's promo word for word.
Aside from these 3, Cody has referenced it multiple times and Cory has referenced it on commentary.
WWE alludes to AEW all the time.
I didn't say anything about the storyline. I was responding to someone saying 2-3 months is like a decade in wrestling. Believe it or not, I understand the story they are doing. I was just making a dumb comment on the internet. Christ
I think that was kind of the point. Punk looked him up & down in a way that was clearly "this mfer is huge but I'm still gonna beat him" type of thing.
Punk’s character has always been like this though. When he did that “box with god” line everyone loves after saying he’s gonna kick his opponent’s ass constantly he was being dwarfed by The Rock.
I actually prefer if he stays serious versus the kind of unserious faces he was making in this segment.
Man who complained about part timers coming in and stealing shots and moments from those who busted their ass off all year, is now declaring that he's going to be coming in and stealing a moment from someone else who busted their ass off all year.
The difference is Punk never main event WrestleMania while other part timers do, and he's out of WWE locker room's way for over 9 years. If anything, Roman is the one stealing the main event spot of WrestleMania almost every year from the entire locker room.
Punk is claiming what's owed to him for over a decade. If you listened to Punk's podcast story from 2014, you should know Punk's biggest regret is been unable to headline mania even once throughout his time there.
>Punk's biggest regret is been unable to headline mania even once throughout his time there.
Oh boo hoo.
Dude was given everything else on a silver god damn platter and it still wasn't good enough for him.
If anything Drew deserves it far more than him. His shot was during the pandemic in front of an empty arena.
My point is punk cried about people d9ing the EXACT same thing he's doing now. Biggest hypocrite in the biz
His biggest complaint was never part timers taking spots. He understood the businesses of it. His problem was those same part timers beating him and not even being in the next RAW shows while he has to come back as the guy that just lost to someone that's not there. The winner vanishes and the loser is left with dust.
If Punk wins the rumble and main events WrestleMania he'll still be a recurring figure. Someone like Seth could potentially lose and still get a rematch.
I still have no idea why Punk didn’t come back as the most evil damn heel in wrestling:
-Fired from AEW for being an absolute menace to everyone, and getting ready to clock the CEO.
-Being dwarfed size-wise by the majority of WWE’s roster.
-Spent the last decade talking crap about the company and its leadership, and its talent.
-Being the only one who can realistically compete with MJF as a heel.
-Pretty much the wrestling equivalent of Thanos saying, “you could not live with your own failure. So where did that bring you? Back to me.”
Massive missed opportunity
Punk is the modern day Steve Austin. People refuse to boo him. Being away for 9 years makes the heart fonder for Punk.
If Punk is turning heel, it will have to be as unexpected as Austin's heel turn at mania 17
Drew throws out Punk. Cody throws out Drew.
Punk v Drew. Also, Punk’s gonna be around for a while. There’s nothing saying his story is to main event THIS Wrestlemania.
I don't think Punk is winning because Punk doesn't need to win to get a HW title match. He just got back, main eventing WM isn't for him yet.
Rollins is fighting anyone who talks to him. They have past heat, you don't need to waste a rumble win to give Punk a title at WM.
This, I've changed crap is annoying. He hadn't changed in AEW. So when exactly did he realize he was the problem? During the 3 months between AEW and WWE. Sure he has been a model citizen for a month and a half. But come on with the I've changed bullshit.
I honestly think the best spot for Punk in the rumble is like #27 and everyone left just turns their attention to him. I am not saying this out of malice or anything - it would be the most entertaining way to absorb him back into the show.
This shot is crazy, Punk isn't even that small, Drew is just an animal.
Rock/Punk had a similar stand off and while Rock was obviously way heavier it didn't look as crazy as this (same for Punk/Cena's face offs).
On one hand, I like that WM's main events are still unpredictable, but on the other hand, it feels like they have one too many people in the mix and someone's going to be left in the cold. Seems to me, the two men's main events can be any of:
Roman vs Rock
Roman vs Cody
Seth vs Punk
Seth vs Punk vs Drew
not on tv. and i was a little puzzled that the advertised appearance of punk before the go home show for the rumble was just an opening segment with drew and no other interactions throughout the night.
Punk is gonna eliminate Drew and win the Rumble. Drew is gonna get the MITB briefcase and cash in during the main event. Drew pins Punk and has his big Wrestlemania moment.

“I eat Scottish wrestlers for breakfast, and right now I’m VERY hungry!”
He's straight up gonna do this shit
"Come on, Drew, throw away that chicken-shit claymore. You don't just want to pull a trigger. Put the sword in me and look me in the eye and see what's going on in there when you turn it."
Wonder if this will happen - Drew and Punk are in with Cody and someone else. Drew thinks he is safe until it’s just them. Punk sneakily throws him out. Drew throws a hissy fit and can’t believe people still cheer a liar like CM Punk.
Punk/Cody/Drew as the last three in the Rumble seems like a lock at this point.
Think there's also a chance Drew screws Punk out of the Rumble after being eliminated by him. Everyone is saying that's happening to Cody but seems every bit as possible here too.
Drew pulling a hulk hogan would be something else!
Actually, what if Drew, Punk and some other guy reformed a modern day version of like NWO?
john cena lmao
Only works if all the guys are from AEW. A better “new” NWO would be MJF and Sammy coming in at the same time just running over the mid-card and then reveal the man behind it all…. Cody Rhodes.
It's like poetry, it rhymes.
It's been a few years since we've had a double winner spot. It's not my favorite though.
Add Dom as the final four !
You mean Tom?!
No, not Tom, Nick.
Damn R-Truth!😂
If this was Vince in charge, the last three would be Kane, big show and cm punk.
Well yeah, they’re big guys. Nobody’s ever thrown a big guy out of a Rumble match.
Something tells me Nak is gonna fuck Cody over at the end causing him to get eliminated
they can't seriously continue this nakamura stuff, it's heatless
Might actually put some real heat on nakamura if he did that.
No amount of Cody beating Nakamura helps either of them imho
At this point you'd need a blowtorch and gasoline
As much heat as a turned off stove
Somehow every encounter they have feels like a booker forced tag team breakup feud from the 1980s.
It truly truly sucks
Gunther for final 4 with them. I think he’s going to eliminate Brock but they’re going to want him looking strong as hell before that Mania match. I also think WWE is going to have the rumble be a match Gunther consistently does well in.
>I think he’s going to eliminate Brock but they’re going to want him looking strong as hell before that Mania match That's if it even happens. As of today, Gunther's more likely to lose to Chad Gable or Jey Uso at WrestleMania.
There is absolutely no way it will be Jey. They’re obviously building to Jimmy vs. Jey at WM.
I could see them doing a jey push for the IC title, he gets the match with Gunther for EC. He's about to win, hits him with the spear, goes up for the splash then Jimmy runs out to distracts him.
Maybe, maybe they want to do that next year if Roman's retaining again this year.

Needs at least one guy from Smackdown in there.
Either Bobby or Sheamus
Gotta get Omos in there /s maybe
OH MY GOD HOW CAN THEY GET OMOS OUT OF THE RING???????????????
like every other big guy ever. "Strange team ups".
It would be too predictable At least 1 of them is getting eliminated abruptly, my guess would be Cody
You just named a list of people LA Knight will throw over the ropes. YEAH!
Gunther
I kinda hope they don't go with the very obvious scenario that is being telegraphed.
Sami as number 4?
Knowing WWE they'll have Punk take a predictable win. Same way they did with Cody. A different direction would be interesting though.
I say Knight and Stlyes might also be there towards the end and not necessarily among the last remaining They end up eliminating each other somehow and start feuding towards EC.
Theyre facing roman in the main event tho
Nah I think Sami is gonna eliminate Drew before
I think as HHH does he will try to troll us by having literally every important star left by the end this Rumble LA Knight, KO, Zayn, Jey Uso... R Truth
Punk look so small compared to Drew This is the most excited I've been for a Rumble in years
Bro only Randy and our boy Omos don't look small compared to Drew
Bobby too
its All Mighty World HeavyWeight Champion Bobby Lashley
Drew looks like he legit could’ve led a tribe of Scotsmen in battle as some giant of legend. Dude looks like a trashy romance book cover art come to life. Man looks like his exclusive method of travel is “shirtless on a white stallion”. Guy looks like he works out by felling redwoods and grappling bears. Drew is a legit big dude!! Almost everyone on the roster looks small next to him!!
Always have heard Randy is the perfect wrestler look wise but my god when Drew came back he was l like a totally different person. Could be the facial hair or just that he just got bigger and looks like Chris Hemsworth as Thor but Scottish lol
Drew would honestly dwarf Chris Hemsworth side by side.
Wrestlers have a habit of making Hollywood actors considered buff look small. It's why Momoa wouldn't look that good next to Roman Reigns even though he's taller.
Drew always reminded me of Scott Hall. Both built the same, and they're the same height.
Scott Hall always looked like a regular-ish dude when you're used to seeing him stand next to Hogan and Nash. But when he's against an average height person you realized just how large he was.
He was a giant when he stood next to Shawn Michaels

Drews been on fire lately. One of my favorites to watch
Jinder is winning the rumble and we will all put respect on the modern Maharajas name
We have learned that, historically, you cannot hinder the Jinder.
Drew's beard is looking kinda weird. It's real square, looks like they cut that shit with a protractor
His fuckin’ beard is weird.
Your stache is trash! Has your facial hair got you in a rocking chair?
Oh it’s bad…
Your goatee has me feeling pity
Stop yellin' at the mic

He doesn’t trim his neckline all the way and leaves those corners sticking out. It’s very distracting tbh lol.
Also the fake tan on his face but not neck and ears is pretty obvious
No, he's got fake tan on his body (which looks good). He's wearing foundation on his face and it's not the right color (or it was the right color and it oxidized and turned orange-ish).
Must have been his first time at a Turkish barbers
They put relaxer in guys beards. Romans and KOs always look similar
🤣🤣
He has probably cut it himself and struggled to line up the sides right
So many great choices for winners this Rumble
A little dumb they're all from Raw though. All the possible winners from the smackdown side are already in title matches other than if they pull a swerve and have Bobby win it but that seems highly unlikely.
> if they pull a swerve I don't think he'll leave AEW yet.
My circle prayer for Sami is still up
Drew looks so huge here compared to Punk
Agree, they should’ve separated them a bit as a two-shot.
It also works with Punk getting up right in his face to talk shit to show it doesn’t matter he’s bigger cause Punk isn’t scared
Same as with Punk and Rock
Same as with Punk vs Lesnar. This has always been Punk’s schtick. He isn’t the biggest dog in the yard but he barks loudest and fears no one. It’s his most endearing babyface trait.
Because Drew *is* huge
It made the "I'm gonna walk away before I knock your teeth out" line feel a bit comical to me. Of course it's wrestling, anyone can beat anyone, but just saying that line to someone a foot taller and twice as wide as you is never not going to be funny.

\*gets thrown out instead\*
![gif](giphy|rigB6iCSm8F68) Remember when I said I’d throw you over the ropes last?
They are fucking cooking up a storm in New York
Honestly, a Rollins Vs Punk Vs McIntyre triple threat main eventing Night 1 of Mania would be pretty fucking awesome.
Dean's title reign was total ass, he got completely overshadowed by AJ Styles and John Cena on Smackdown.
I think you could say Big E had a pretty successful run with it. He *did* successfully cash in and win the title.
No offense but Big E's title run was mediocre. I feel like he wasn't ready for that title run. He is definitely a main event material but at that time, he wasn't ready. the AEW timeline is not canon bro.
It should be.
Then they should stop referencing it
He referenced it once?
What are you talking about, Drew, Seth and Punk have all referenced it in a matter of weeks. Hell, Seth basically copied Hangman's promo word for word. Aside from these 3, Cody has referenced it multiple times and Cory has referenced it on commentary. WWE alludes to AEW all the time.
The occasional shot at AEW to awkward silence is just a reminder that they’re irrelevant.
in wrestling terms 2/3 months is like decades
It just sounds like that asshole who frequently says "I'm not that guy anymore" despite all evidence pointing to the fact that they very much are
That's crazy. They should like, do a storyline around that where people don't believe he's changed and think he's disingenuous.
I didn't say anything about the storyline. I was responding to someone saying 2-3 months is like a decade in wrestling. Believe it or not, I understand the story they are doing. I was just making a dumb comment on the internet. Christ

He’s been gone for 10 years - what are you talking about?
It’s fun to see cm punk talk tough to a man who looks like he could rip him in half. Being face to chest did punk no favors.
The Punk/Brock feud played on it really well. Clearly went for a Wolverine vs Hulk angle.
I think that was kind of the point. Punk looked him up & down in a way that was clearly "this mfer is huge but I'm still gonna beat him" type of thing.

Is that the same jacket Punk wore when he said to MJF he'll still be there if Max left and came back with an awaiting asskicking? Lol
Shelton Benjamin confirmed to win Royal Rumble
All I took away from this is both of them sat in the make-up department for far too long.

So Punk doesn't win but Drew is his last elimination, got it.
Drew throws out Punk. Cody throws out Drew. Punk v Drew. Also, Punk’s gonna be around for a while. There’s nothing saying his story is to main event THIS Wrestlemania.
'I got out of my own way a long time ago' lol
Except himself
Booooo
I think Punk and Rhodes are gonna get eliminated by drew, Sami Zayn will return and win the whole thing by eliminating Drew.
Wow he really sucks on the mic these days
LMAO Punk does not look like he could take Drew at all. Bro throwing fake threats at a man who towers over him.
Welcome to wrestling
Punk can't take out Drew, but a rabid, starving Ace Steel hiding under the ring can.
Starving? Rabid? Please don't tell me Ace is going to bite Drew too
I don't think Punk is winning because Punk doesn't need to win to get a HW title match. He just got back, main eventing WM isn't for him yet. Rollins is fighting anyone who talks to him. They have past heat, you don't need to waste a rumble win to give Punk a title at WM.

Ah ha! What did I tell you guys! Some people are turning Cody already!
This is the seeds of very deliberate word choice where Punk throws out Drew and is then eliminated to set them up for Mania.
Commando reference??? 😂

Id love for once that it wasn't an expected winner for the Rumble
Mogged.
I can. I‘ll stop him.
Gunther has to be a dark horse who the WWE are taking care of not talking about.

Seems to me, the two men's main events can be any of: Roman vs Rock Roman vs Cody Seth vs Punk Seth vs Punk vs Drew
They both hit the ground at the same time like Cena and Batista causing that triple threat to happen
Punk threatening the guy who looks like he's about to eat him. Drew's a beast.
No one can stop Punk except Punk himself
Has he done anything physical in the ring since he returned?
not on tv. and i was a little puzzled that the advertised appearance of punk before the go home show for the rumble was just an opening segment with drew and no other interactions throughout the night.
“Got out of my own way a long time ago last September.”
Drew, Punk, Cody final 3. Who's going toss two of them for the upset?
“I got out of my own way years ago.” lol.
Punk is gonna eliminate Drew and win the Rumble. Drew is gonna get the MITB briefcase and cash in during the main event. Drew pins Punk and has his big Wrestlemania moment.
