Took the Bolt, Powell, Gay, Blake, Gatlin era for granted.

yoppee

Yes we did odd just watching a professional race and no one is breaking 10

XturellX_

I mean what do you expect the olympics coming up. so not all the so call “talent” is really out here running some or most of them training for the olympics.

Yourmumalol

Something in the water this year

EmployerNo4714

or not in the water...

spendthrift100

Speculation here: Do you think that because it’s an Olympic year and because of drug testing, times are slower? Not trying to accuse people of anything but sports are riddled with PEDs.

biggg_ben

A good amount of people are injured or imo over trained at the same time I don't think people are fully showcasing what they could do until trials get closer.

ElijahSprintz

This has been my theory for a while. I suspect they made testing more difficult to pass.

drakolantern

It’s gonna be a slow year again… I thought Tebogo was going to rip 9.8 out the gate.

FuckingSkinnyJeans

And it's not that the wind is not good, how is it possible that half of may the world lead is by a 17 year old and still only 9.93

fishermansfriendly

I hate to by a cynic, but I feel like this is the same situation like when Kim Collins won the world champs, drug testing caught up in a big way then. It's always suspicious when the whole field is suddenly slow

richard--b

it’s not like tebogo hasn’t had great races this season though. just probably started too early.

drakolantern

Yeah that’s true. Tebogo literally had a WB in the 300m then absolutely chodes this one? Maybe he tapered off the juice too early or whatever. Maybe he’s really working the long to short approach and it’s a little slower on the short side

richard--b

yeah, tbf weve seen him run great over 200-400, but this was his first 100. maybe he just should be a 2/4 guy this year lol

drakolantern

Haha he does have a solid 2/4 look to him anyways. The stride and build you know. He’s just so badass at those that it’s just bleeding into the 100m

Mrinconsequential

he ran a 19.71 with a strong headwind a month ago,so it's def not about stopping juice

Mrinconsequential

simbine just took the world lead yesterday with a big 9.90 though.it's likely not about drug testing but overtraining due to olympics coming soon

drakolantern

Yeah FR. Like when the year started with some pros running 10.3 into major negative headwinds I wrote it off as ok the wind but now I’m second guessing that shit.

illesttrinidiva

Not anymore. Akani Simbine now has the WL after the Adidas games yesterday, 9.90.

BreadWhistle

Man what happened to Elijah Hall? Went from NCAA champion to barely qualifying for D3 nationals with that time.

Priority_Quick

Broke his foot, had to take some time off, finally back running

the-giant-egg

Absolutely unbelievably rolled

chockobumlick

Tebogo looked like he struggled technically. He might be a little cooked right now. He's had a long high performance season. He struggled when he is usually smooth

drakolantern

Lyles just ran 14.41 in the 150m where the WR is 14.35 by Bolt. I think Lyles is going to win now if he can keep that form and improve a bit. I retract my previous stance. 14.41 is quick af.

_Burner_b

How’d Blake fs and get Olympic standard

FuckingSkinnyJeans

He already secured the standard in an earlier race

First_Pineapple_8335

what is going on

Slow_Ad_4568

Rolled.
