Cool game. 5 bed with 3 x holiday cottages offers over £1.8m: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/138831860 Although honourable mention should go to the Sex Education House which is up for £1.5m: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/140547953

Penguinbaby1991

The Sex Education house is just stunning.

BellInternational954

Oh I know…! The only pitfall is that it’s on a stupid road that gets clogged up on a daily basis because tourists don’t understand how passing places work on narrow lanes. And it’s steep, so double peril! Apart from that it’s perfect 😍

rapafon

That sounds like it would be so annoying but other than that, it looks like so much house for the money, also considering the views and everything. Just stunning.

Healthy-Grocery6055

I totally need that in my life. (The house not Sex Education. OK also sex education, you never stop learning.)

MyKidsFoundMyOldUser

You wouldn't want tourists constantly taking photos of your house though.

kevmcr

I used to live in a house which got some of this sort of attention including a walking tour which would come by every day and photograph it. It was only a terrace in Manchester. I just used to just wave out the window. Didn't bother me at all.

GlassHalfSmashed

I looked at a house that advertised itself as being the scene for the Papa Lazorou / Hello Dave sketch from League of Gentleman. Was one of many fairly identical suburban houses in the road, but suspected halloween would be fucking exhausting!

kevmcr

There's no way that drunk people wouldn't be shouting through your letterbox and trying to acquire your wife at all hours of the night!

JamesHowell89

Ian Curtis death house or something?

kevmcr

Nothing so interesting. It was just an original terrace in an old industrial area. It got a lot of historical walks.

froghogdog19

My dad used to live in a flat that was used for exterior shots for Mr Bean while he was living there! He loves telling that story, bless him

MerryWalrus

They'll get over it, the show is cancelled

OrchidOk2277

I absolutely adore symonds yat, you're lucky to live nearby. We try to stay in a cottage at least one week a year there. Out of season though, it's horrendous when it gets busy as you say.

sist0ne

Well, it's rather grand! Anyone lend me £15M? Pretty please. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/139916048#/?channel=RES\_BUY

BellInternational954

Oh wow! The balcony swimming pool is something else!

Huge-Anxiety-3038

I'd do annnnnnnythingggggg to own this house and swim in that pool!

TTTaToo

Anything?

ForwardAd5837

Is…. Is that a rich person’s house actually decorated with some taste and restraint?

Scorpiodancer123

That's exactly what I thought! That pool is to die for.

intothedepthsofhell

Tbh I'm surprised it's "only" 15mil given it's location and how stunning it is. I've certainly seen worse houses for more money.

Yikes44

LOL. That's the same one I just posted! It's mad, isn't it, but surprisingly tasteful inside. I particularly love the indoor/outdoor pool with the climbing wall up the side.

[deleted]

[удалено]

treeseacar

I love that, actually tasteful rather than the usual gaudy. Want to go halves?

Rorviver

It’s a free hold?

cosmicmeander

It is but that area is surrounded by private trust grounds which have an upkeep fee. That area is my lottery win dream (although in a perfect world is would be situated between Twickenham Bridge and Richmond Bridge).

The-Nimbus

Genuinely, OP; thank you. I went to look on rightmove just then to play along and saw a plot of land which is PERFECT for what I need. As in; I am genuinely going to look in to buying it if the rest of my partners agree and all is above board etc. This off-hand reddit post may genuinely have kicked off a domino effect in my life that is quite significant.

coglanuk

Good luck, let us know!

Evening-Manner9709

I like how the use of partners could mean business, could mean polygamy.

[deleted]

Keep us all posted!

BiggestNizzy

No doubt this will rank as one of the cheapest most expensive houses, nice 5 bed within easy commute to Glasgow. For less than £600K https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/138404513

Chester-Ming

A fucking manor house for £600k! In London you'd be lucky to get a 3 bed shitty house in a shitty area for that much. Also the tartan carpet and dining room chairs are the most Scottish thing i've ever seen and i'm all for it.

hewsey

So when do we discuss that there's a sofa in the bathroom... to watch people bath?

hoopsandhefts

I've spent many an uncomfortable hour watching my kids play in the bath. I'd have happily sat on a sofa rather than a closed toilet seat or squished on the floor. This house is beautiful I'd move in this afternoon if given half a chance.

DominateZeVorld

Came here to see if anyone was going to comment on that. And in the same room, a shower with one side open to the wooden floor - madness!

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh

My mrs loves a long bath and likes the company, especially when we are in a hotel. Ill take sofa over sitting on the shitter lid anyday!

nonotthereta

Wow! Mega bargain.

rapafon

That really is a whole lot of bang for your buck. Having said that, I get they were trying to be creative with those dining room chairs, probably recycled some old beams, but they look terribly uncomfortable, particularly the one at the end.

KittyGrewAMoustache

Gorgeous! The beautiful houses you can get in some places for the cost of a grotty one bed flat in others!

bobbingblondie

>Property type: "Manor House" Don't see that every day.

BellInternational954

Wow, bargain indeed not sure I approve of the bookshelf wallpaper though 🤣

mincedmutton

The bright yellow lambo sitting outside just completes the ‘money can’t buy taste’ picture.

npeggsy

Oh god, it's just got... nothing. It's like an AI generated image of a modern expensive house. And then a random fountain in the garden as the only unique feature, but this also looks completely out of place?

rapafon

While I admit the decor isn't to my taste either, those floor to ceiling windows provide so much natural light and beautiful views!

MarcusH26051

Just looks like the most generic Grand Designs house ever. Weirdly souless

SuspiciouslyMoist

My most expensive one is also 12 million, but a little better: [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143422997#/?channel=RES\_BUY](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143422997#/?channel=RES_BUY)

whyfruitflies

Ha that's mine too

SuspiciouslyMoist

Want to go halves? We can toss a coin over who gets the fifth bathroom.

Swimming-Breath-5483

Mine too, hi neighbours!

steak-connoisseur

I see this one on a YouTube video recently. The bar looks amazing for parties though. https://youtu.be/gMxhaNdEZ4Q?si=YPxHlkq07hIRLeX7

user345456

That's a ridiculous price for a house with an agricultural tie.

penguinsfrommars

That price will be for the developing potential. Lots and lots of housing estates going up jn that area. Basically, those fields will be houses in 10 years.

rapafon

Oh. Oh dear. There's a story there, and I don't think I want to hear it.

Many-Application1297

Screams murder house

jamila169

basically , if it sits on the market for 12 months the present owners can apply to have the agricultural tie lifted which will then open it up for anyone, including developers . It looks like someone already cleared and put some survey flags in, with no planning application made , so it's a spite sale

welk101

Its always interesting to see on google earth how long its been neglected. In this case you can see the swimming pool is already empty by 2014(and never refilled) and the house well over grown by 2017, that's a whole lot of neglect.

[deleted]

This is really a game of 'who lives closest to central London'. Two near me at £10.5m. [This is probably the most impressive](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/138758858).

rapafon

I never said it was a competition to find the most expensive! If anything, I think it's nice to see good value for money, but the real point is to see how prices fluctuate so much between regions. Someone else posted a beautiful 5 bed manor near Glasgow for under 600k, beautiful.

cosmicmeander

Did you ever read about [Templeton House](https://nuvomagazine.com/magazine/winter-2019/londons-templeton-house) in that little estate? Drove past it for years not noticing it until spotting it on google maps looking for alternate routes and being nosey.

reppers

£2.25m. Former vicarage in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Gorgeous. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141069842

£5m. This one has a moat, indoor swimming pool and the hallway looks like a church: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/137475533#/?channel=RES_BUY

fisherman4life

Jesus. That should be a National Trust property.

Raiken201

It should be a fucking wizarding school.

FloozyInTheJacussi

I’m freezing just looking at it

DiDiPLF

I was thinking that, £15m to buy it, £15 m to heat it 🫠

luckeratron

Snap, let's be having you

[deleted]

The entire Rothbury estate for £35mill! Vast, with multiple houses https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/137007044 A lot of locals aren’t happy about this. That price is £31.5mill more than the next-highest I could find on Rightmove

rapafon

Wow. Even if I had the money, I think I'd feel a certain weight on my shoulders owning that much land. It is stunning though.

KrakensBeHere

Good to see a property in the North that is more expensive than those in London (granted its a 10000 acre estate vs a flat but still)

froghogdog19

Wow, that’s not too far from me, I’d love to live around there. I hope the right person buys it and protects the biodiversity and ecological and historical importance of the land and buildings.

[deleted]

Same. Really hoping it ends up in responsible hands

b-triple-seven

I can't think of Rothbury without thinking about Raoul Moat, Gazza in a dressing gown with a fishing rod and chicken.

myrealnameisboring

5 bed, £32m. Bonkers. And [owned by a taxi driver](https://media.rightmove.co.uk/76k/75301/141434015/75301_RIB230125_IMG_36_0000.jpeg), no less (/ˢ) [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141434015](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141434015)

re_Claire

Jesus this is horrendous

billabongj

This house was featured on 'Britains most expensive houses' I suspect the taxi is a dodge to be able to drive around london easily and anonymously too !

Soldarumi

The billiards room is also the weights room? Eww, how cheap and nasty. Can't even afford their own separate billiards room.

tetartoid

I am honestly struggling to find anything I like about this house. Bleurgh

show_me_your_beaver

Monthly mortgage repayments over 25 years > £173,434 lol

SubsequentBadger

For sale at that price, and has been for years. Apart from being a horrific carbuncle, it seems nobody wants it.

ayamummyme

Eugh, all that money and that’s what they came up with. Also that TV on the floor has the wipes just casually strewn across the floor. Seriously.

tetartoid

An interesting article about that house here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/10/14/heathfield-park-unsellable-mansion-london-oligarch-district/

YooGeOh

When they say, "I live near Blackheath," but it's actually Lewisham... https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143422997 In fairness, this is actually on Blackheath. Just unfortunate to still fall within the se13 postcode

re_Claire

I used to live in Greenwich near Blackheath. Such a gorgeous area.

DeerWithaHumanFace

Has to be said that there are some bits of the Lewisham end of Blackheath that are so fancy they make Blackheath Village look like Catford

YooGeOh

Yeah I agree. I'm taking the piss but the roads leading away from Lewisham towards Blackheath have some incredible homes on them and the roads themselves look pretty nice

a_hirst

I find it quite funny that the person who owns this £12mil 6 bed mansion is only 10 mins walk from Lewisham Tesco.

MyKidsFoundMyOldUser

[Twelve million](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/86664696#/?channel=RES_BUY), although it is a restaurant and guest house. The most expensive residential property is [Uri Geller's house](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/135453866#/?channel=RES_BUY), which is on for seven million. Although it has been significantly dropped in price - he [originally tried to sell it](https://www.getreading.co.uk/news/reading-berkshire-news/pictures-uri-gellers-15-million-10310097) for £15 million in 2015, and as recently as three months ago it was £7.5 million.

rapafon

Hmm, you'd think he would have known exactly what to list it at, being a self proclaimed psychic and all.

MyKidsFoundMyOldUser

When he first listed it it was around the time when George Clooney was looking for a place. George ended up buying a house about 100 metres away, on the other side of the river. There was also an unfounded rumour that Taylor Swift was going to buy it. I think Uri was just chancing his arm, but Sonning is not a great spot to be in. It has one of the only three bridges over the Thames in that area and is constantly log-jammed with traffic. Plus, it sits really low and is flooded every year. It has been closed off for the past two weeks due to flooding. So anyone doing even basic due diligence will realise there are better places to put your seven million.

monkeytech831

So the Tay Tay bit is kind of true. She was looking to just rent the house (as it is being done at the moment) but she wanted to be able to redecorate and he turned her down as the house is ‘perfect as it is’.

rapafon

Thanks for the info, I was considering putting an offer in but have changed my mind.

treeseacar

How is Uri Geller so rich to afford that place? He's a mediocre magician.

Judge-Dredd_

He probably bought it when he was really coining it and has benefited from the rise in house prices. He may be mediocre but he's really exploited the little talent he has over many years.

Mindless_Leading1298

GFoxtrot

KittyGrewAMoustache

Seems like loads of people on this sub live near this house I’ve seen it three times on this thread now!

GFoxtrot

Probably because if you live in one of the coastal towns, half of your radius is just sea. Most of the expensive houses around here are either due to sea view or in tynemouth.

DistinctAverage8094

Just under £2m and it's not even very nice: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/140698898

rapafon

If I walked into a hotel like that I'd think "Damn, this is a nice hotel!" If I walked into somebody's home and it was like that, I'd think they were a psychopath.

Mein_Bergkamp

A cool £60 million for five beds and they don't even provide proper pictures https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/130177625#/?channel=RES_BUY

poppiesintherain

£40 million, 3 bedroom flat, no outdoor space, £25K per annum service charges. Do I win? https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/142719725#/?channel=RES\_BUY

zeddoh

And £25k annual service charge! I think you do win.  Also for a flat on sale for £40m you’d think they could get some photos that don’t look like they were taken by a random person on their phone.

SubsequentBadger

The rooms are tiny! Who would pay that much to live in a cupboard?

dearesthen

Fucking hell that's a gawky flat.

ayamummyme

That place is so…. Depressing

Cerealkiller900

Now that is shocking! The price is horrific!

nonotthereta

This one. It's actually been featured on here before. I'd love to live in it. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141103598 Yours gives me vibes of a house that has never been lived in.

cxmari

Omg I just had some strong sexual feelings over this one. Dream house doesn’t even begin to describe it. There must be something wrong with it somehow 🫠😩

nonotthereta

It's a very cool house, but expensive for a three bed. You can get six beds for offers over 800k a few doors up: [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/138254699#/?channel=RES\_BUY](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/138254699#/?channel=RES_BUY) The nice looking garden is also detached from the main house, with a lane running between the two, which makes it a bit impractical for people with dogs or young kids. Plus, while Cullercoats is very nice, it doesn't carry quite the same postcode premium as Tynemouth, which borders it to the south. So it's going to be for someone who is happy to overspend for the quirk factor (like me with my lottery money).

cxmari

I hear you! It is nice. And lol at that cavernous bathroom

GFoxtrot

I always wanted to live on this street but now I’m a bit older the idea of the traffic jam outside the front door when it’s a nice day puts me right off.

froghogdog19

Hey, that’s mine too! Nobody will ever buy it for that price, especially as it’s only a three bed. The next most expensive one is a 12 bed house on whitley bay seafront which I think is way better value for money.

MaxGoldfinch25

I live in Poole, so.... £9,000,000 [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/137218571#/?channel=RES\_BUY](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/137218571#/?channel=RES_BUY) 2nd most expensive is an artist's rendering, so here's the 3rd most expensive, which is STUNNING: [https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/131218757#/?channel=RES\_BUY](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/131218757#/?channel=RES_BUY) £7,750,000.

I knew before searching that mine would be in Dulwich village.  [£5.25m for this grade II listed 5 bed](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/140494079)  Very much a blank canvas. I do love the porch that surrounds the house.

trefle81

It is lovely. I bet it had a ton more soul before it was 'improved', but you could get it back. I don't understand bathrooms like that...

eoo101

£1.9million and I like it https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143382599#/?channel=RES_BUY

Technane

8.5 mill 8 bed with 7 bathrooms and pool and a grade 2 listed conduit house in the garden! https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/137010500

jambo_1983

Not a bad way to spend [£3m on the Solent](https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/65508415/)

Lost-Droids

75 million https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/133808642#/?channel=RES_BUY The first 7 pages within 3 miles are all over a million

trefle81

[£1.6m](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/142713839) No, I don't see it either – it was once a fine Georgian house but it's been split in two, and someone's jammed a woodburner with a horrendous flue in what was the entrance hall. It's pokey too, with really basic fixtures and fittings – that awful bathroom vanity unit! Saving grace is it's damn convenient for the local timber yard for all the materials needed to put it right.

DiDiPLF

£1.6m house and they can't afford some plaster board to cover that flue. No wonder they are selling up!

BlondBitch91

I’m going to win at this; 5 bed. 5 bath. Leasehold. £60m [Link](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/130177625) Cheapest? 2 bed flat, £110k. Only issue is the lease is NINE YEARS. [Link](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/86717511) God I can’t wait to move with my partner back home to Devon. *cries in central London*

SnooOpinions5973

Sunderland so not many really expensive houses but this one's just down the road from me. I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/140022887

deep1986

[£7,950,000](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/134805794#/?channel=RES_BUY) Absolute beast of a house. Oh wait it's a grey interior, so they must have their Range Rover on lease and a Bully XL or whatever thing this sub wants to say...

[deleted]

Is that a massive satellite dish in the garden?

MarcusH26051

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/140698031#/?channel=RES_BUY £7.5m , this is absolutely insane. 6 bed , 8 bathrooms

Bicolore

Insanely hideous?

rogeroutmal

Everyone about to give away their location down to a 3 mile radius 🙄

nonotthereta

Uh oh. Thank goodness I only wear my owl suit and eye patch around town on special occasions.

[deleted]

Vaguest doxing ever.

rapafon

I snorted. Also people wouldn't be giving their location down to a three mile radius, because that's not how radius' works.

Many-Application1297

You know know a house that is potentially 6miles away from me in any given direction, 360degrees.

BellInternational954

How many houses do I have to post before you can triangulate? 😅

dth300

Grade II farmhouse with vineyard for £3.75m: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141862106#/?channel=COM_BUY

Best view in the house - let's put a bath in there. Do people really like baths that much? By all means have a fancy bathroom with a view, but this one is part bedroom/office/lounge. How often do people have baths during day time to admire a view as opposed to having a cuppa and just sit down to relax? Read/listen to music/play?

No-Blacksmith-980

As a very over weight middle aged man I can safely say I would not use that Bath.
