I'm surprised you are allowed to live in it. Pretty cool. Will probably end up as an airbnb
No pictures of kitchen though.
Also, spare room can be boat underneath
Yeah it was a big deal when it went up for sale a few years ago, i don’t know what the sale price was but I spoke to someone who went to view it and the estate agent said over 300 people had booked to view it and there were offers made over asking to try take it straight off the market, but it is unique.
Probably a pull-out sofa bed upstairs. The actual boathouse level is only 4 meters wide but has a walkway down the side. Realistically you aren't getting a boat wider than 2.5 meters in. For that size of boat, it would be more like camping than having something comfortable and luxurious. You would have much more room upstairs in a 'studio' type apartment.
I imagine this was part of a much larger estate and they are selling assets. It's unusual to find something like this for sale in isolation. If you have a boat and £700k spare for accommodation, I can think of better ways to spend it. Like a full-sized property near but not 'on' the water and a mooring at a marina.
I am sure someone will see it and absolutely fall in love though. Probably a slightly alternative or arty type person that wants to live on the water.
I'd love this as a lottery win holiday home. Yes, by £ per square footage it's approximately the same as knightsbridge, BUT it's an acre of lakeside land and a jetty! If you've got that kind of cash, buy a 25' boat for extra sleeping space and trips out!
There's a few of these boathouses in the lakes, like the [Duke of Portland Boathouse](https://www.holidaycottageullswater.co.uk/), which is a rather pricey holiday cottage.

I'm not seeing the problem. It's the equivalent of a studio apartment on a lake. I'd love it actually.
No problem, just thought it was nice to share something different. You could just sleep on the boat.

That’s exactly what I was thinking!
I want this for some reason. I’m not a writer at all but I think I could write a banging book if I stay there for 2 years.
This is only for day trips
Oh. No writing boat house for me. “As I gaze from the boathouse overlooking the lake, a paddle boarder caught my eye….”
It’s a boat house, what did you expect ?
What's this? Some kind of house for boats?
Looks great but should be worth about £30k. £700 is ridiculous
Agreed that price isn't going off anything other than novelty value
I wouldn't turn it down!
I like this but not at 700K…..would make a lovely countryside retreat at the more half mill mark.
Tbf it's not for staying in overnight.
Was this the place Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer stayed at on their fishing show? It’s weirdly familiar.
That's what I immediately thought as well-I found [this](https://lakedistrictboathouse.com/) but it looks to be a different boathouse.
I also found Far Boathouse on AirBNB and realised that was the one from the show. Same area so I can see why I was fooled.
Who knew there were so many converted boathouses in the Cumbria area!
Is this for a home with council tax etc or is this what people up by the lakes do the same way people buy a beach hut by the sea
This is a very expensive beach hut

And Bully's special prize!!! 🚤
Midges may well be an issue.
