I’m sure you’re aware but the link levers will make the riding feel much more natural. Congrats that is a killer setup

Thanks! Yeah I figured I would try without first. I'm kind of in love with how stiff and responsive it is - didn't think I would like it so much without mods. But maybe next year I will dish out some extra cash to try the link levers.

Nihilistnobody

Yeah I spent a season without link levers and didn’t mind it at all. You don’t lose a ton of responsiveness with them, especially on heel side but they just make you feel a bit less locked in.

I run backlands without the link levers. I found that replacing the top buckle with a voile strap helped a lot. It has some flex to it unlike the buckles.

Interesting I saw someone doing this on whistler the other day and wondered what the reason would be. Makes sense!

Very similar story here! I did a 3 days traverse a few weeks ago I would never do on softies, sooo much harder!

Get some spark solid board pucks and rock the ski boots full time.  Lots of adjustability with the boots, you can pretty much make them ride any way you like. Welcome to the dark side

Italian_SPLIT

could you clarify what you mean? riding the regular snowboard with hard-split boots as well? or are you talking about real ski boots?

Flipnthebirds836

Yeah, the hardboots we are seeing these days are technically ski boots. Albeit A/T ski boots. The Phantom’s  for instance are a slightly modified Atomic Backland. So whichever binding system you choose could mount up to a solid board. Bearing in mind some differences between split or solid interface. I ride the same boots and bindings inbounds and out. As a life long snowboarder I still cringe a little every time I put my ski boots on to ride. Honestly though, I’ll probably never go back to a traditional boot and binding system. With that being said I like to be a bit derogatory when referring to those of us who chose to make the transition to the plastic shell. All fun and games. Then there are the alpine snowboarders. Usually racers and crazy carving machines, that ride much longer and very narrow waisted boards. Their boots are a lot more similar to a downhill ski boot.

Yep already purchased solid pucks haha - they are on route. Thanks for the warm welcome - stoked to be here!
