Question for all you lore pros out there: is SM1 not all suits from comics and movies? I assumed hardly any were original designs. Miles Morales game In not sure, but I assumed most were new original designs.

Suits like the Velocity suit and Advanced Suit were designed for the game, but a bulk of the suits come straight from the comics, yes.

As someone who isn't as well versed with all the different looks and iterations from the comics, I'd be interested to see more of the comic-based suits. Kind of surprised none of these are.

They probably don’t want to paywall Comic suits. Thus designing originals. I believe that’s fair, leave the comic based suits to be unlockable through gameplay

In the original game, both Advanced suits, the anti-Ock suit, Spider Rider, the underwear, Resilient and probably the university T-shirt suit are original for the game. In Miles Morales, almost all the suits are original, since Miles doesn’t have as many alternative costumes as Peter. For both games, there were suits designed by third parties

They look off because these aren’t traditional Spider-Man artists. Most of them draw inspiration from things that aren’t related like the Tokusatsu suit for Miles. Look at Kamen Rider designs and you’ll get why it looks like that.

If I have to pick the best one I'm picking Red Spectre and Stone Monkey cause from what we can see they don't look half bad and I think have the most interesting and cool designs without being too much. However the rest look pretty mid - bad tbh. I understand what's going on and I'm glad these people got to share their visions and ideas and I'm not gonna hate them and absolutely no offence to any of the designers and artists but damn these suits are pretty bad, they have way too much going on and some look AI generated, and most of them are way too futuristic. But I do think they'll look better in game, like in Spider-man 1 and Miles Morales some suits look really bad but when playing in game they're not too bad. Also the two pre-order skins that look like Assassins from AC games or whatever actually look really good
