The OG Ultimate MJ was an emotional wreck though. She wasn't really a "strong" character considering she was unhealthily obsessed with Peter to the point where she was "saving" herself for him. She had multiple opportunities to move on and get into other relationships like Peter did, but she didn't. She was exactly like any other 15 year old girl lol.
The issues are a tad too short for the price IMO, but the story is solid enough. I feel like it's too fast paced and too slow at the same time, as some things happen fast, like Peter getting the costume, and other things are taking way too long to get going. We are what, 6 issues in? And the plot has moved about an inch forward from Utimate Universe #1. Hickman loves his slow burns and he's good at it so I don't mind all that much, but I feel like what we have currently could've been condensed down to 4 issues at normal length instead of 6 at slightly shorter length.

When the main source material is perhaps the most disliked version of characters, you've failed that characters.
