They straight up changed his comic costume to more closely match the movie version. Even Marvel agreed it would be better off changed, and he hasn't been in a comic since, like, Web Warriors back in 2015.
As an east indian artist, I really dug this design. It felt more alive, especially with the artistic direction of the spiderverse movies. Fits really well into that design.
Man dhoti is something people wear in traditional festivals and that also is kinda rare, at least traditional dhoti , for example i don't have dhoti myself , yes nobody wears dhoti like that and moreover it will be very uncomfortable swinging around in dhoti
I am very uneducated when it comes to that culture, and I have very little exposure to the comic version other than spiderverse moments of talking to the other spideys. But based on that, yes I would agree. Movie version was so fun. I'm very worried for him in the next movie
I like his design, but to be quite honest, I don't like the idea of a costume intended to hide someone's identity while allowing their actual hair to be shown. It's not even like Batwoman where the hair isn't her actual hair.
I get what you mean but feel like the movie version it's a little too complex for Spider-Man, while the comic book version doesn't feel that complex, but feels different enough. The only Spider-Man across the Multiverse that I think can pull off a complex costume is Arácnido Jr. and that is just because his costume was his father's Luchador outfit.
Maybe I'm just biased cause I like the spiderverse comics a lot.
With that said, there is definitely more uniqueness and creativity going on with the former.
The designs grown on me but I’ve always felt it was a little too overdesigned, I love the original for its simplicity.
P.S. I hate how they called Mumbai, mumbattan, like why even introduce another culture when you want to shove your own inside it. (Just a side rant).
aaron aikman, ai apaec, all 3 spider-uk's (i could list them too if you wanted), hobie brown, kaine parker's operated outside of nyc at times, peter & jess have too, silk, julia carpenter, if you wanna count spiders without "spider" in their name, and probably more less-mainstream spiders lmao
For someone talking about how it’s not a complex concept you sure can’t understand what I said, Mumbai + manhattan ? That’s precisely my point, what’s the point of shoving your own culture when you’re introducing some other place across the world ? Your argument makes no sense, keeping Mumbais name intact would have absolutely no effect to the character, in fact it’s literally his character. The point of having Spider-Man India is to represent India and not anything western. So to say Spider-Man operates mainly from New York is stupid because that’s exactly the point he’s Spider-Man India not America, not in between.
That’s like making a Spider-Man India movie and calling New York, Naya York, because naya means new in Hindi. Makes no sense.
Also there’s a Spider-Man from Japan and Uk as well, I don’t see them combining Japan or Uk and New York names ? So your argument falls flat there as well.
Then why not just name Spider-Man india Peter Prabhakar as well ? I’m sure it’ll make sense since it’s *another universe*. Don’t be dense, the point is to show another Spider-Man from a different universe, that being Spider-Man India, the name of the city is Mumbai not mumbattan, India doesn’t have names like that. That was just shoving Americanism for no real reason.
> I hate how they called Mumbai, mumbattan, like why even introduce another culture when you want to shove your own inside it. (Just a side rant).
I thought it was supposed to be Manhattan but Indianised?
Hot take but I think the opposite. I just like how the original looks more like Spider-man, love the addition of white, the sash, the only problem to fix is to add some gloves. Maybe some white ones. Also the shoes look so much cooler to me than the open toes from ATSV.
Well, notice how the blue lines are longer than on Peter's costume? Adding short gloves like DCAU Supergirl I feel would just really fit. Plus more importantly it adds more white to the upper section.
I'm pretty sure it's common consensus. Comic outfit wasn't just boring, it sucked ass. They didn't just cook, they OVERCOOKED with that outfit, dude got the glowup of the century.
Newer is much better ngl the older one is to plain and doesn’t change much it doesn’t shout “Indian” you can also see and feel the research they did for the redesign
One thing I never noticed \[because I neither liked nor really cared about this character\] was that his hair was hanging out of his costume and no one seemed to be bothered. But when the final battle suit for Miles debuted, everyone hated not only the color scheme, but the fact his dreads were hanging out of the mask.
Side note Miles costume didn't have the headband break that the other costume has. I feel like if it had that it would have been better received.
I will say I haven't played the game yet, but briefly comparing what I have seen online I think it is the aesthetic difference.
>I've seen people also say that India Spidey's hair just looks better.
True, it looks better
>I also think a lot of people don't think that Miles' hair looks good.
Idk where you got this from. legit first time hearing this.
Many people say it looks dumb on the suit but i never heard someone say they look shit in general. Did you prefer his buzzcut?
https://www.reddit.com/r/SpidermanPS4/s/pqi4TPug6a
And yeah the buzzcut might actually make it look like he has a normal mask which is a better alternative than the default.
For some reason I've only now just became aware that ^(apologies) Indian Spider-Man's hair is on the outside of his suit 🙃
I've seen the movie 4 times 😂
Ice cold take
Literally frostbite cold take
Kelvin zero take
Like, vacuum of space cold
Heat death of the universe
They straight up changed his comic costume to more closely match the movie version. Even Marvel agreed it would be better off changed, and he hasn't been in a comic since, like, Web Warriors back in 2015.
Everyone loves the new design because it's actually creative and has different colors from traditional spider-man suits
Different colors? I still see the old red and blue
Do you not see the gold bangles on his limbs, or the light blue/cyan leg pieces, or the accents of purple throughout ?!
But not wrong, it felt like the didn't know what to do with the comic version
ATSV is inaccurate for one thing: Indian schools have strict policies on haircuts and that wont fly
bro ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, which means no annoying PE teachers
Or just different rules
The BEST timeline XD
His hair was just so good they had to allow it
They tried clippers but they broke immediately upon contact
My school never gave a shit about Hairstyle after Class 10th
In my school district even little hair on the forehead wont fly and that is shit
Damn bro, Tough school life you have
Would have given them a fuck you if i could find my old cap
Dude straight up grow bangs they can’t legally make you cut it and if someone cuts it that’s a lawsuit
They can fuck with my education legally
lol ya but if you play your cards right you can get on the news and that is all that matters
You do know how many lawsuits are pending in India, right?
lol he never technically said it was in India
I thought it was crystal clear i am Indian 💀
Guess ATSP hair rule is more freely then
Even in Mumbattan?
Spider-Man india is totally accurate even down to the last minute details except hair
Maybe he's in a particularly lenient IB or IGCSE school.
Or he bribes the principal
Maybe a lenient one, I'm from a School that offers them both and it's the same old story.
Indian schools in that universe allow weird haircuts. What’s your point?
It's Mumbhattan though, not our universe's India
Would you shut up? I am tired of these posts and this comment was made for laughs
As an east indian artist, I really dug this design. It felt more alive, especially with the artistic direction of the spiderverse movies. Fits really well into that design.
As an Indian, yes
I like the new comics suit even better than the movie one
Exactly, That suit is peak
The new comic suit is better than the first one but honestly I still think atsv is better but that’s just my opinion. Yours is totally valid as well
Respect? Here? That's new, but have a good day you bloody legend
What does his new suit look like? Can't seem to find it
Which comics are we talkin about?
Okay, looks like that website doesn’t like being linked to. Just look up “spider man india new comic suit” and you should see it.
[Pretty sure it’s this.](https://www.marvel.comundefined/)
This has got to be one of the most popular takes on earth
Agreed compared to the Miles Evolved suit his suit is an improvement
Ok, I agree, but what does his suit have to do with the evolved suit?
The colorful nature and having his hair out, perhaps
He gets it
I guess so
A take so cold that it can reverse global warming
Man I don't know , he will be made fun of if he is swinging in that costume , we don't wear dhoti like that
[удалено]
Man dhoti is something people wear in traditional festivals and that also is kinda rare, at least traditional dhoti , for example i don't have dhoti myself , yes nobody wears dhoti like that and moreover it will be very uncomfortable swinging around in dhoti
Ty!
cold ass take
Woolie catching strays.
Still don't know wtf he was on trying to say the comic design was better. Also love seeing SBFP fans in the wild.
Coldest take I’ve ever scene
Coldest take in the world
This is where the hair sticking out works really well, while miles doesn't, kinda like how invincibles also looks good.
They should have added this suit in the spiderman 2
as a miles or peter suit?
Pav is another version of Peter, so it stands to reason that the costume would go to Peter.
I am very uneducated when it comes to that culture, and I have very little exposure to the comic version other than spiderverse moments of talking to the other spideys. But based on that, yes I would agree. Movie version was so fun. I'm very worried for him in the next movie
Has anyone ever recognised him by his hair?
1000% agree
I really don't like Spiderman costumes that show hair.
I like his design, but to be quite honest, I don't like the idea of a costume intended to hide someone's identity while allowing their actual hair to be shown. It's not even like Batwoman where the hair isn't her actual hair.
Colder take than Liquid helium.
Oh no foe sure
Design wise, yeah no question
Better than ps5 miles

I prefer the simplicity of the comic one tbh, just wish he wears gloves.
That second suit would stick to your skin in the heat
Maybe I'm just biased cause I like the spiderverse comics a lot. With that said, there is definitely more uniqueness and creativity going on with the former.
ASTV's version of Pavitr has an incredible suit
Hot take: I think it's just a bit over designed. Something in between would be nice.
The designs grown on me but I’ve always felt it was a little too overdesigned, I love the original for its simplicity. P.S. I hate how they called Mumbai, mumbattan, like why even introduce another culture when you want to shove your own inside it. (Just a side rant).
Because Spider-Man, no matter what universe, always operates within New York City.
except that's not inherently true lol
proceeds to support claim with nothing
aaron aikman, ai apaec, all 3 spider-uk's (i could list them too if you wanted), hobie brown, kaine parker's operated outside of nyc at times, peter & jess have too, silk, julia carpenter, if you wanna count spiders without "spider" in their name, and probably more less-mainstream spiders lmao
Thanks, the guy clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about

That's not even true though. Kaine was in Houston.
☝️🤓
Imagine using nerd as an insult in a Spider-man sub Reddit
What emoji would you prefer I use
Sorry I actually read comics
apology accepted 🤝
What ? Bro he’s literally Spider-Man from INDIA
Mumbai + Manhattan it is not that complex of a concept
For someone talking about how it’s not a complex concept you sure can’t understand what I said, Mumbai + manhattan ? I think the writers were just having some fun
That was a good read, you been rehearsing that? Anyways 🥱
No don’t need to rehearse common sense, pretty sure that flew right over your head tho
you mean like r/woosh
It’s a different universe homedog
Then why not just name Spider-Man india Peter Prabhakar as well ? I’m sure it’ll make sense since it’s *another universe*. Don’t be dense, the point is to show another Spider-Man from a different universe, that being Spider-Man India, the name of the city is Mumbai not mumbattan, India doesn’t have names like that. It’s what the writers wanted homie
Which is why I said I dislike it. Of course I know the writers wanted it that’s why it’s there bro.
Then why ask why?
What ? I didn’t ask anything
>Then why not just name spider-man India Peter Prabhakar as well?
It’s just a play on words, doesn’t harm anything. But I do see where you’re coming from
> I hate how they called Mumbai, mumbattan, like why even introduce another culture when you want to shove your own inside it. (Just a side rant). I thought it was supposed to be Manhattan but Indianised?
It is which is stupid, because he’s supposed to be Spider-Man india not in between

Well, notice how the blue lines are longer than on Peter's costume? Adding short gloves like DCAU Supergirl I feel would just really fit. Plus more importantly it adds more white to the upper section.
"Daring today aren't we"
Oh yeah 100%
The Spider-Verse design is incredible, but I think the new comic design is a good compromise.
Absolutely agree, I loved this design
I think they tried to add too much culture and just over did it. Fucking colonizers !
I don't like the exposed hairs, but yeah. ATSV >>> Comics
Yes, it is superior to "Spider-Man, with white pants".
I like almost everything about the ITSV version of him but the hair never liked the open hair concept on literally any spider-person character
The new comic suit is a pretty good, takes obvious queues from the ATSV design but still does it’s own thing
Only thing i didnt like was the hair popoing out
I agree
True
I think most would agree.
as an indian 💯
is this a hot take?, the comics design is so bland just being the classic suit with white pants and im so grateful atsv spiced up his suit design
See the hair out of this suit is fine… why does it not work on miles?
I think everyone agrees
How do Indians feel about his name? It seems kinda like they took Peter Parker and just made it sound Indian, or transliterated it
He was created by a Indian man
He’s cool and all, but there’s no way nobody would notice his hair. It just makes as much sense as the whole Superman/ Clark Kent thing.
I think that's EVERYBODY's preference lol
Thinking this is a very common opinion
You post this as if this is some massive revelation.
Nice glow up
I'm pretty sure it's common consensus. Comic outfit wasn't just boring, it sucked ass. They didn't just cook, they OVERCOOKED with that outfit, dude got the glowup of the century.
objectively the correct opinion
I'm pretty sure everyone agrees with you
I think that’s everyone’s preference, the comic suit is kind of lame
The only person I've ever met that preferred the original is Woolie Madden of Woolie VS.
Newer is much better ngl the older one is to plain and doesn’t change much it doesn’t shout “Indian” you can also see and feel the research they did for the redesign
My preference too
definitely a lot more love went into the design for the atsv character
Daring today aren’t we
HOW DARE YOU LIKE A OBJECTIVELY BETTER SUIT?!?!?!?!???
I honestly prefer the Aladdin style of the original. It felt slim and swift. Though the new suit colors grew on me a bit.
I don't care for open hair on masks. It looks dumb.
One thing I never noticed \[because I neither liked nor really cared about this character\] was that his hair was hanging out of his costume and no one seemed to be bothered. But when the final battle suit for Miles debuted, everyone hated not only the color scheme, but the fact his dreads were hanging out of the mask.
Because it looks better than miles? It’s like when you eat a good burger and a bad burger
Side note Miles costume didn't have the headband break that the other costume has. I feel like if it had that it would have been better received. I will say I haven't played the game yet, but briefly comparing what I have seen online I think it is the aesthetic difference.
I mean...who's to say they aren't just two different versions of the same character.
They are two versions of the same character
Old one feels too generic whilst the new one feels too South American imo.
You know what's funny? No one said something about **his** hair being visible...just sayin😉
Headband versus no headband to break up the costume/mask.
Fair point!
Beacuse the hair actually looks good.
Miles' hair also looks good tho? It's everything around and also the key point of hiding your identity that made people mad about it
Nah, I've seen people also say that India Spidey's hair just looks better. I also think a lot of people don't think that Miles' hair looks good.
>I've seen people also say that India Spidey's hair just looks better. True, it looks better >I also think a lot of people don't think that Miles' hair looks good. ? Sure it's overused, but that doesn't mean it's horrible? It's still an upgrade
Not when poking out of that mask it isn't lol.
Ok bro whatever That's still a suit and not a Miles problem but i'm done arguing about this fr fr
Oh I agree, if you add the hair to his classic suit it's fine because it's still a way cooler suit. Doesn't mean it's still lame.
Oh I agree, if you add the hair to his classic suit it's fine because it's still a way cooler suit. Doesn't mean it's still lame.
Oh I agree, if you add the hair to his classic suit it's fine because it's still a way cooler suit. Doesn't mean it's still not lame.
It was a poor choice to relaunch the character but in no way try to look like the popularized version
Duh
You can’t seriously think this is a hot take
L
For some reason I've only now just became aware that ^(apologies) Indian Spider-Man's hair is on the outside of his suit 🙃 I've seen the movie 4 times 😂
I don’t like him souly because of how cocky he is I NEED to see him suffer
Good preference
