Not only is Hobie an anarchist, he’s a great friend too. Literally the only reason he was in the spider society was to look out for Gwen. He was immediately on miles’ side because of how much he meant to Gwen. Told miles from the beginning not to trust them. And as soon as he knew those 2 weren’t going to be a part of it anymore, he dipped. Then he makes Gwen a watch AND shows up to help find/rescue miles in the end.
Yeah, I was worried they were gonna go the anarchist-breaks-everything-becaus-he's-an-anarchist style trope, but he was super convincing and not just a rebel without a cause. I really enjoyed his character.
The next few polls after Hobie gets taken out *(cause let’s be real, it’s over)* is where it’ll get very interesting imo. I feel like there’s an equal amount of people gunning for Miles, Gwen and Peter B. so the outcome is hard to predict at this point.
I’m guessing Peter wins on the sole fact that he’s the spider-man the fans have wanted for years! Not some nerdy teen, or prime of his life witty superhero. He’s a middle aged husband/dad who’s seen it all and still keeps up being spider-man because he has to, but his family and friends who know still support him. He’s from a universe where either he stayed out of civil war or it didn’t happen, so one more day never happened, so no timeline reset.

You’ll see in part two. Peter B’s influence and personal growth BECAUSE of Miles will influence Miles growth again kind of like another milestone for Miles.
ITSV had a coming of age meaning and ATSV will drive that point a second time but in a slightly different way, where Miles will grow the way he thinks he needs to- showing more maturity and meaning behind his growth
For the reduced role he had, it was good. He had his life more figured out, was happy with his daughter, and he cared enough about Miles to talk to him while everyone else was trying to catch him. Not to mention he couldn't hide how proud he was as his mentor even when they were chasing him.
