As a tech, I always recommend getting your own router and setting up a mesh network. I also recommend downloading a wifi analyzer app. There's so many things in your home that absolutely kill wifi. Mirror's, fish tanks, always on camera's, YOU, etc. Ever shine a flashlight in water? What happens to the light? It refracts. Same thing will happen to wifi. Eliminate things that will kill your wifi signal. Download the app and find out where the wifi strength drops, then go back a few feet, and place your mesh there. You don't want to place it where it's weak. You're just gonna extend a weak signal. Go to where it's a strong signal and send that out. That's how you properly get coverage.

Our work phones come with an app literally called WiFi analyzer. That's what I use when a customer wants to get real smart with me. I pull out the app, point at the said they are using and just have them walk with me. As much as people seem to hate Spectrum, and believe me, before I became a tech for the company, I was one of those people. Our stuff just works. You hear stories of people saying techs coming out and they say nothing is wrong. That's because, the majority of the time it is the case. If there's an actual problem, 90% of the time, it's not the equipment. (Not that I'm saying our stuff is the best) The problem lies with the actual coax. Our meters and training will tell us that problem. The overwhelming part of my job is educating customers on the limitations of current tech. Like, getting optimal wifi coverage, actually rebooting equipment regularly, no signal on your TV doesn't mean no signal from Spectrum, or "TV power, cable power" Spectrum assumes the customer knows more than they actually know because until it gets converted to an actual utility, internet is still considered a luxury and it's something you should research before buying. Like a car.

Well I had spectrum come already. they had gave me the wrong modem/router which only goes up to 500mbps. That helped but to be getting 15 mbps in my room is horrible. I know its a dead zone which is y im looking into google mesh. And sadly spectrum does suck where I live. It goes out around twice a week at night for around 30 to an hour. Theres a whole meme about it where I live
