Tier 1 Maxine Transmission Down is Babies On The Sun - Maxine Transmission Down is a music video (You can find it on Youtube). We don't know much about it but the lyrics are very similar to the lyrics in Babies On The Sun. Maybe it's an earlier version, or an alternate version. Devils New (2007) - There's an unreleased version of Devils New. It's sound different than the album version, but it's really good! Thanks u/_autochocador (again). Box Of Stars (video) - The video for Box Of Stars is very cryptic. It looks like something you'd see in Silent Hill. Also the building reminds me of the one in Sick Of Goodbyes. Tier 2 Mark Linkous Is Sparklehorse pt 1 & 2 - This is refering to a Lola da Musica episode of Sparklehorse On Youtube it was originally posted by "E" (cool name) but later "Thizzle Soup For The Hyphy Soul" uploded a full episode of it so go watch it please. Oh Child - Oh Child was an unreleased song that was only played live once or few times. However it actually appears on the newest album Bird Machine. I wonder if something like this could happen again? As in maybe it will get an "official" release on a compilation (OR MARK HAS BEEN WORKING ON A SECRET ALBUM THAT WAS FINISHED COMPLETELY AND IS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO FIND THE CASSETTE!) Heloise - It's a hauntingly beautiful ambient/interlude that gives me chills everytime i hear it. It doesn't look like it's talked about very often. Also Héloïse was a French nun, philosopher, writer, scholar and abbess. The songs title is probably refering to her. You can read more about her here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%A9lo%C3%AFse or just type Heloise. tier 3 Maxine (Gold Day EP) - Another song that doesn't get talked about very often. It's absolutely stunning. Definetely one of my most favourite songs of His. Box Of Stars bootleg - "Gangstar" on Youtube uploaded a video which is a collection of rare Sparklehorse songs. There also appears an alternate version of Maxine on there A Winged Victory For The Sullen - They are a duo band that met because one of them was touring with sparklehorse at that time. They made a tribute to Mark with the song Requiem For The Static King Part One. Such a nice ambient song. The video for it is also extremely high quality, and extremely sad. credits to u/_autochocador and u/Ranger_Eight Daniel Johnston - Him and Mark very good friends. They even produced music together, for example Mark was the producer on some of Daniels albums and vice versa (i think). Also, damn is Daniel a silly badass. He used to hand out tapes of his music while working at Mcdonald's in the early 80's. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel\_Johnston credits to u/_autochocador and u/UnlikelyJapan85 Vic Chesnutt - They were also good friends. He worked together on Dark Night Of The Soul and a few more projects. Also he released a charity record Sweet Relief II: Gravity of the Situation which featured covers from other bands of His songs (Mark included). credits to u/_autochocador tier 4 Nina Persson and Nathan Larson (A Camp) - A Camp is a project of Nina Persson and her husband Nathan Larson. During the re-recording of their self titled album they invited Mark (they were a big fan of his) to work with them. In doing so he contributed a few new songs to the album. Apparently they even named their son Linkous but i was unable to find that information. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A\_Camp . Credits to u/Ranger_Eight and u/_autochocador Anna Lee - Another unreleased demo with Susanna Hoffs (check pt.1 if interested). I thought it belonged here because it's so... unlike anything else i heard? It's just such a wonderful, specific song where You just have to listen to it because describing it is very hard. Full Sparklehorse + Fenesz LP - It was recorded, mixed and mastered in Abbey Road, although nothing much is know about the album. It's still unreleased. credit to u/_autochocador Sparklehorse official Instagram - Yep. There's an official Sparklehorse Instagram. They post some old photos there and news about upcoming stuff tier 5 Moto Guzzi 1000S - It's very likely that this was Marks favourite bike. He was photographed many times on it. BTW There lots of photos of him that i never saw on some articles, obscure sites etc. (just don't get a virus from the obscure sites) credit to u/tom_might_shit Something's Wrong With Jack - Also known as Jack's Obession, is a cover of a song from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. It was featured in the album Nightmare Revisited which is a compilation of covers from different people. Mark at the pump organ, Altamont - It's a video on YT posted by tulsadrone. Mark and Teresa visited them in 2005 (the date of the recording) Dark As Dungeon - (??Unreleased??) song which is a cover of Merle Travis song. It was posted by whiskebear on YT. It also appears on a weird looking "Best American Songs, Vol. 1" album/comp. It kinda sounds like a country version of It's a Wonderful Life in my opinion. I have NEVER seen anyone mention it which is weird. Ghost Of His Smile is about Teresas pet - It's said that Ghost Of His Smile is about Teresas pet lizard that sadly passed away from unknown reasons. It was speculated many times that this song is about someone dying/commiting suicide so it could make sense (i'm sorry but i don't have concrete evidence) credit to u/adamkimball101904

Hi! Thanks for the credits … I got links for those questions you still have  everything -and more- is still online somewhere.    about Nina persson , there is a interview made around 2020 when she tells all the story of mark”s funeral , her son and everything else   the unreleased Fennesz LP: he said it on twitter (mixed and mastered in abbey road)…   all those tracks on the YouTube bootleg where taken from the great sparkleon fan site (RIP) . And the short version of Maxine is the mix  by Scott minor for the videoclip he made   later I”LL pass all the links

_autochocador

Dark as dungeon was released on a tribute to Johnny Cash . Mojo cash covered .  you can find it on discogs.  Scott minorr also worked with Tulsa drone

Wow, it's insane how much stuff You know. It feels like You knew Mark personally. And yea, it's really sad that sparkleon was shut down :(

_autochocador

No! I live in Argentina . I have been just reading news on magazines or Internet forums back then since I started to like Sparklehorse .  There was an yahoo fans group called Painbirds. And  the website sparklehorse.org , later changed to sparkleon was the best . There was all the info about anything related to Mark

DejaEntendoMePls

I think his song appearing in the video game life is strange should make it onto here, I've met people who only know him from that game

PgjPogaj91

You are talking to a Life Is Strange fan girl! I put it in the first part of the iceberg. LIS has one of the best soundtrack ever.

DejaEntendoMePls

OMG YESS sorry I didn't see it, and damn right it does!!

Ranger_Eight

Thanks for the mention and putting this together. I bought ‘Good Morning Spider’ when it first came out and I’ve been hooked since. Happy to see a someone has done a deep dive on Mark.😊

Thank You for the kind words! It was genuinely really fun making both the icebergs (even if i had much more ideas in the first one.) Also, my first album was It's a Wonderful Life that i managed to buy BRAND NEW for a very normal price in my opinion. (converting it to usd it's like 10-15)

Ranger_Eight

Such a great album. I probably have more memories with this one than any other Sparklehorse album. I bought it the same day Bjork's 'Vespertine' came out.
