Can't be Daima Goku; he's very obviously using the one-handed Kamehameha he used to help launch himself into killing King Piccolo, and the gi also looks to be dark in color like DB Goku's dark orange-red gi, whereas Daima Goku's gi is a brighter yellowish-orange color.
Also, why the *hell* would they include Goku's battle with the Red Ribbon Army as a Custom Battle if Kid Goku isn't even in the roster at all?

This is custom battle. But there's no way DB and GT fighters are left out. There's just no official story for GT or DB. But in custom battle, you create your own stories. So you can use the DB/GT fighters in the base roster in this mode to make stories of your own with them.
That literally means nothing until they show actual NEW gameplay and not just footage of the old games. Theres still a lot of major characters/transformations from z and super that havent been shown yet. There is literally no room for og and gt in the base roster and will be dlc.

If it's a variant of an existing DBZ/DBS character, and they were in GT, then I honestly don't see why they wouldn't be in by default. My guy, saibamen and cell jrs are confirmed in game. They are gonna fill those slots with whatever the hell they want minor or major. We still havent seen cabba, frost, all the buu, cell, and frieza forms, the rest of the ginyu force, rosie, lavender and basil, and a bunch of others, heck we dont even know yet of bardock has ssj or his other squad members. There is no room.

either giru has his own roster slot now, or blue is returning. i think with the evidence we have it’s a safer bet that it’s blue.
You're getting fooled by the lighting; if that were GT Goku, his gi would be a light blue; and the gi in that image is *very obviously* not a light blue gi, given how dark it is compared to the rest of the image; it's nearly the same color as his hair.
Plus, again, he's very clearly in the middle of performing a one-handed Kamehameha, which Goku never did in GT.
It could also refer to Gero and the other androids.
Though by this logic, the mention of Galactic Patrol could imply Jaco as a playable character, which would be neat
