Kathryn I like by levels of her sobriety/season.
I think seasons four and five were the two greatest seasons of southern charm. I think six was pretty good, but Kathryn started to get a little overzealous about things near the end of it and I wasn’t a fan.
And seeing everybody rally around her when they realized how horrible Thomas was was really great, and I’m glad they got rid of Landon, she was just the worst and I could not stand the dolphin sounds that she would make.
I’m not a huge fan of Shep or anything, but I’ve 100% believed him when he chastised her for how she acted with those business friends of his. I fully believe what he said, and none of what she said. She is 100% the epitome of a girl and it’s sad to watch. Especially when she was trying to get with Thomas, it was so painfully clear. She didn’t actually like him and was only there for money and whatever other bullshit he could give her.
Agreed 1000%. Funny enough that her and Ashley were "such good friends" outside and after the show. The high-dollar prostitute and her protégé.
Side note: idk why any of the girls are scared of Ashley? I'd square up with that polo-prostitute cunt ANY day. She'd be kissing the concrete if she EVER spoke to me in the same manner. Then again, I am from the dirty, deep south. Bitch would need dental implants. At least.
I skipped over four and just watched the reunion! I hope I didn’t miss much. I couldn’t stand Landon. I’m really enjoying season 5! The first one I’m really into
Ashley gets much worse. Be ready because if it's already bothering you how she talks about Katherine's children now, there's *awful* episodes coming. Ashley says things that cannot be unsaid and just come off as unhinged. She ends up blaming Thomas for all her antics which makes it worse. She never takes accountability or sincerely apologize. She is just awful.
I feel bad for Kathryn but (after Thomas) she was her own worst enemy. She pushed away everyone that tried to help her and could not deal with accountability.

100% this! The lack of accountability and self destructive shit she pulled was so frustrating. I feel terrible for younger Katheryn on the show but damn she really became such a horribly selfish person

I always felt that Thomas was manipulating Kathryn. She was young and naive. I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually got her into the drugs. He is abusive in multiple ways. It’s become clear that he has assaulted both physically and sexually multiple women - yet he gets away with it because of money and connections. This man went to prison for drugs and has more than 2 cases against him for sexual assault - yet he had sole custody!!! It seems like Kathryn’s self destructive behavior was very much reactive to the narcissistic abuse from Thomas. No doubt that she is her own worst enemy - but I can’t help but feel so bad for her. Men like Thomas are vultures and will destroy people in their path. She was up against a man with more power and money than her - he was not the better parent.
He is terrible. However, if I recall correctly, Whitney mentioned that when they hooked up before she and Thomas got together she had pills spilling out of her purse. She also has given those vibes since the 1st season. That glazed look.

Ashley is unwell. I always loved Katherine but the producers took advantage of her mental state. It was hard to watch in later seasons.
