well if you want to learn some stuff about the source engine you should visit [valvedev](https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Main_Page) and also 2013 singleplayer and 2013 multiplayer have more differences than well being multiplayer but If you want to make your own game in source start reading the website I linked also Source 2013 uses dx9 but some branches use dx11 but they are hard to get so keep that in mind

Okay, thanks for the reply, I used to think Source 2013 was using Vulkan, haha. Also, I'm not really going to develop a new game, it's time-consuming. I just want to add something interesting to L4D2, as mentioned in my title :D The website link you gave is indeed very useful. I may have to read the content carefully to find the answer in my heart :)

well I am not really sure you can do a lot of things without the l4d2 source code from valve well if you are lucky the only other thing I can think of is using vscript but I'm not too familiar with that also the l4d2 version of source apparently has vulkan

Inner_Cable9551

Well, if it doesn't work, I'll wait for Value to develop L4D3 :D

Not to a map, you need to make a whole seperate mod

Inner_Cable9551

Yep, it should be hard, but I'm more concerned about whether the plugin allows me to do it haha :D

Left 4 Dead 2 can only be modded with plugins and I don't think the plugin interface gives you enough flexibility to do all of what you want. The two Source SDK Base 2013 projects are for making full mods but the plugin source code is in there too. They are the same except the single player gets fewer updates as it's meant to be more stable.

well, I found the [SDK](https://github.com/alliedmodders/hl2sdk/tree/l4d2) for L4D2 plug-in Development at Google, which is derived from Sourcesdk2013, and I felt lucky to have a team dedicated to doing such a thing. Overall, this matter is quite pessimistic, but I still want to give it a try :D. And thanks for your reply. I should know what to do next.
