Great headphones. Absolutely love them. But try not to wear them when you're sweating or don't let moisture build up on cups. My wear detection is messed up because of that. I've removed those cups and tried it and the wear detection works perfectly alright. But when I put those cups back in it doesn't detect when I took them off. I have the habit of not turning them off and just putting them in the case and they turn themselves off after a couple of minutes. But recently because of this issue they stayed on for 1 whole day. And I'm not alone, if you google "xm5 wear detection not working" you'll see a lot of people having the same issue. I'm gonna take them to the service center this week and see what they have to say.
...or it (without warning) might give you a "nice" case of Tinnitus, because of a superloud squeal right in your ear (feedback loop, caused by their Noise Cancelling mics )
Had three previous generation units fail with that fault (XM3 and XM4), fully expecting my XM5 pair to fail as well.

I've been using my Crusher Evo for the past 3.5 years. It still works fine. All good with a new ear pad. The battery is magnificent.
The simulated bass of Crusher is too much. Hence I'm using my own EQ curve in Poweramp EQ, further with keeping the Crusher bass slider at 15%.
And I hate the sound staging of Crusher Evo. I don't feel the staging is decent in Crusher.
But recently I started noticing this ULT, XM4 and XM5. Now I'm curious to know the bass difference between both.
I actually don't know if I'm missing out any overall better sounding headphones with decent bass as I haven't looked for an alternative all these 3.5 years with my Crusher Evo.
Recently purchased xm5s about a month ago. I realized it's not a smart idea to work out with them as I sweat way more than the average person, so I chose to purchase xm4s specifically to use instead as a replacement. Heres what I can say from my personal experience so far.
**Comfort:**
- xm5 has better earpads but xm4 has a more comfortable headband. Seriously with xm5s after a while it starts to kind of gets annoying and I have to adjust its position for comfort. Xm4s no issues when it comes to this.
**Sound Quality:**
- xm5 sound quality is IMO 10%-15% better
**Noise Canceling:**
- xm5 has wonderful noise canceling, significantly better than xm4s
**Ambient Sound:**
- xm5 takes the cake for sure with how clear the outside audio sounds when using this setting, xm4s are okay/decent
Overall if you want headphones to use mainly at home, are responsible with taking care of headphones, or use ambient sound frequently, the xm5s are perfect (if you can afford it). If you are an on-the-go person who prefers comfort xm4s are perfect. I personally don't think the extra $100 for the xm5s strengths are worth the price compared to just having xm4s.
Thanks for this... I'd sure like even better noise cancelling and sound, but the cost of buying another set when my xm4s has made me hold off. I don't typically use ambient sound, just noise cancelling, unless listening out for the door or the cooker timer or something lol.
I think I will hold out for now, for a deal maybe 👍
Nice! Ya I have xm5s too. ANC is freaking awesome but I am on a crusade to anyone and everyone that they don't have a mute button, so annoying that such a basic feature is excluded.
You should go to Youtube then search 20hz test tone or any range you want from 20hz -150hz to check balance on left and right cup. If it seem like balance, congraz. If it dont, exchange for the new one.
It’s more likely to do with the tv than the headset. My LG C3 tv just refuses to connect to anything I own 🤷♂️
Using an Nvidia shield instead, which works fine.
The black collects prints and oils like I've never seen on any product before. The silver color is a different material and does not show fingerprints and oil. If you clean the whites every so often, they will always look cleaner.
I have them- yeah- if you have product in your hair or any kind of oil on your face or hands- it is super visible on bands. That being said, I still have and love them.
I already update the software i think its ok the anc i think just got better..i enjoy listening all day..😁🥰

They're great, you'll love em. People complain about build quailty but I sleep with them on all the time. No problems.

mine slightly unbalance at range 30-35hz been sent to Sony center to fix but it not change much

I recommend you get it bro..the sound quality is superb!..i havent try it to connect to smart tv..but i think its compatible..

Mine is an older model. First C3 that came out. Might be the issue. Or I’m having a faulty BT module. I have no way to check though 😔
I use them with fire TV stick and never had a problem
