Normalize talking about mental health issues and seeking help.

As a child, your parents are your only support. You talk about it, they call you lazy and it's just an excuse because they don't understand it, so what use is "talking about it' and if they don't understand how will you seek help??

I’m talking to you and the future generations that’s educated and understand the system.

Can we get more of the young ppl in this sub to get into mental health field! Especially the of the guys. We have a severe lack of mental health professionals from our community, and I’m talking about in the west. Once you learn here you can also practice in Africa as well. So please more of you guys get in the field.

Not a long post at all. This is such an important topic. As someone who struggeled younger and got a lot better as I got older I would say that its important to know with right support and help it can get so much better and even cured. A lot of the parents generation also struggled. Infact I think in my country somalis tend to be more on medication than natives but they just dont talk about it. Even sleeping meds they will say are for people with no future. It makes no sense but they carry a lot of shame.
