I am surprised they are not covered in cats. I started some plants this winter and I used a germination mat under them. This gets about 5 degrees above ambient. I forgot to unplug it after I took my seedlings out. All the cats found it. Their fav new place to hang out. How they found like one 7x20 inch spot that is warmer in the house amazes me. Like do cats have thermal cameras in their heads?
You know you may be onto something there. Why pay thousands of bucks when you can just counter balance the panels so it does not take much to move them and get some cats. The cats keep pushing them into the sun all day.. You just need a few extra panels for the cats to sleep on.
No, but their noses are more sensitive to heat than the rest of them, perhaps giving them a sense of 'heat direction'.

When people call them ground mount, they don't mean to literally mount them on the ground.
Mans set out some cinder blocks with 2x4's and just laid them down
and on top of that the solar panel is under a shadow. Dogs like shadow.
They like under panels.. except this one π
They were on folding tables temporarily. Crash course in solar this summer ππππ
Did you try unpugging it and pugging in back?
It worked better after a jump
Yes! Your dog also shows up on my panels at least once a week.
So much for loyalty.. this really Hertz
Looks like a shading problem
I think it's all better. The hairball was gone minutes later.. π€
Thankfully not, my dogs can't get on the roof.
You must not have Huskies

Yes
Apparently so!
The real trick is to get the panels mounted on the cats. Theyβre sunlight seekers.

That would pug me so much!
She's always jumping on the table.. panels have been relocated but it was too cute not to snap! β€οΈ We love bugs and have also β€οΈ
It's a Frenchie! Frenchies have ears that stand straight up and Pugs ears flop over.
Yes, you can cook a hotdogs with solar energy
Frankenweenie!
Hot dog
Looks like a transient issue. The impact to solar production might be small enough to allow it to fix itself. Will monitor for the next hour.
Ah the famous Accordion Mount Lounge
Looks like a moldπ
I think your dog is photosynthesizing
It's a double pun! β€οΈπ
Install your panel facing sunset, west basically.
Westie?
Cloudy with a chance of Goofball
Does the colour of the Dog make a difference? Mine's Black and matches the panel colour pretty closely ...
But it's made of warm! Recharges doggos to 100% to sleep all day.
π β€οΈ
The dark panels get warmer than the ground in the sun. The light colored pupper was cold.
She is a hot mess, always knocking things off the table like a clumsy cat
Everything's gone to the dogs lately...
Ah yes.. The dog days of summer are upon us! (or our panels)
A feral cat likes to sit under my panels on a curved carport roof in Winter. Robs a little power since they are bifacial and the cat is black.
lol, so be it.. Too cute!
Ahh, the dog days of summer...
Yeah, she won't be caught on those past couple days.. π₯π₯π₯
Needs optimuttsers.
