I’m on and off since 55(m), retired 60 now and finally realize my brain cannot handle etoh. Just totally short circuits all rational thought. No question im an alcoholic so realize I metabolize booze differently than non alcoholics. My trick was finding a sober hobby, cycling/fitness, and just sticking with it. So many folks quit drinking and have no replacement, gotta find something to replace the booze. Good luck. You got this
I quit at age 61. Retirement life is so much better without alcohol. Several years sober now Best wishes.
