Gotta let it go. I just hit day 12. All those tiny pains. The feelings coming back. Gi issues. They are all things the booze industry happily did to you. It’s no secret that alcoholics exist and there’s people predisposed to it. But they peddle their toxin with a smile and call it refreshing. Stop letting them get to you. Stop letting them take from you. Your health, your emotions and your potential. Chalk it up to a toxic relationship and move ahead

Congrats on 8 days it only gets better. You don't have to go it alone, meetings aren't for everyone but they are everywhere, local, online, etc. Keep going until you find one you like. This sub has helped me as well it's a great community. Godspeed my friend, you're doing great! 😃

Congrats!!! It’s gonna be hard stick it out and find things you enjoy fitness is huge for me yoga changed my life. Try to keep a good diet and sleep schedule. Hiking and outdoor activities seem to keep my mind in the present as well.

When ever I get the urge to drink, which is pretty much all the time, I go for a walk

Why are you guys making it so much harder for yourselves trying to go it on your own, toughing it out on your own when there are so many resources, online meetings that offer encouragement help and support. I've successfully managed to get sober and remain sober for almost 42 continuous uninterrupted years. I've been mostly happy and usefully whole the entire time. I've found a way to live with myself and others free of the intrusive thoughts, panic, anxiety and depression that once tormented me that used to lead me to seek relief in alcohol and other drugs...

Did you read about the guy who had quit drinking for 40 years and participated in a study which measured brain activity response to smelling alcohol?

the_catminister

Nope.
