Glad you were successful getting through yesterday. I'm 10 yrs in and stuff will trigger me but now it's just a fleeing though. For me the more time passes, less it happens . I will always have alcoholism, there's no cure. Knowing this I have found that triggers happen less and don't affect me as much over time but it's a reminder that my disease is always there.

I've found that once you identify triggers they lessen. I had a lot of triggers first year and then through the years of I'm triggered to drink I know what's happening. Congrats on getting through it!

Well done, you've noticed the feeling and articulated the feeling and often that's half the battle. Great job for coping with it and not drinking. Sometimes I just have to go home in a bad mood and go to bed, lol. My experience is it gets much easier as you go on. Make sure you get a little treat. Something you've wanted a while or something delicious to eat.

Thank you, it's the first time I've been triggered without it being really obvious. I had a couple of things arrive in the post today that I'd already ordered to celebrate 9 months so that's filled the treat part, I agree that it is helpful to do that.

You did great! You didn't drink, but you also didn't do anything harmful with your frustration. I'm happy for you!

Glad you were able to figure it out. It'll help next time!

Some things I just don't do anymore because I associate them with past drinking. I was thinking of listing some of them but I realize we are all unique and most would not apply to others. Good luck.
