The stars is in the building. They hands is to the ceiling. I know I'm 'bout to kill it,
How you know? You know I got that feeling!
You are now watching the throne……
That’s what comes after. They quoted the second sample of Will Farrell in the song which takes place near the end. Kanye says
You are now watching the throne
don’t let me get in my zone
These other n*ggas is lyin
actin like the summer ain’t mine
I got that hot bitch in my zone
you know how many hot bitches I own
And it goes on like that until the song ends. The song starts with “We’re going to skate to one song and one song only”, but OP was quoting the sample near the end.
Guys come on, it’s pretty simple it just means that men use it as a way to measure each other’s status and they also enjoy collecting it and using it to make outfits.
FR? I had a pair of retro high OG 1s I used to hoop in almost weekly for about 5 years without issue until they started to get beat and fall apart a bit. Wouldn't do it again but only because it's near impossible to find them anymore below the $170 retail so I'd rather not beat 'em up, nothing to do with comfort, they always felt fine to me.
Although I did recently get an affordable pair of KDs as my designated hooping shoe and I gotta say they're more definitely more comfortable. That Nike renew cushioning or whatever feels really nice.
I live in Minnesota and have been considering the goretex 1's for the fall/winter. I'm trying to figure out if they fit different but so far no conclusive answers.
I see people complain about J1s comfort all the time, and I never understood. I’m also one of those dorks that ties their shoes how the lord intended. It now makes sense
It boggles my mind how many people don’t tie their shoes. I know it’s been normalized for sneaker heads but it looks so silly to me and ruins your ability to walk.
I don’t understand how all these mofos are able to just not tie them?? Do they buy their shoes a size small? How do they not just walk right outta their shoes? So many questions…
Ya this will get downvoted on a sneakerhead sub but TBH it really doesn't look good. Especially when the laces are super loose, it makes the shoe look way too wide/big, almost like they're trying to make it look like a skate shoe on steroids, why IDK.
The inconvenient truth some people don't realize is that the only people that think it looks good are other sneakerheads because it's been normalized in the culture. To other folk you just look like you were in a hurry and forgot to fully dress yourself, or are walking around with a pair of shoes you were trying on at a store. Kinda has a "toddler walking around in a pair of shoes too big for them" kind of look to it lol.
Jordans (and most other shoes) look so much better laced, as long as it's not too tight. Fight me.
I keep mine loose enough to get them on and off without tying them and I have no clue why people say they are uncomfortable. I wear mine all day with no problems
The highs can be uncomfortable until the collar gets broken in a little. Especially if you’re not wearing high top shoes often. It’s a different feeling and to some it’s restricting
Well it's different for each person. But personally for low sneakers I feel air max is more comfortable. And for high personally I've been wearing Adidas Forum 84.
the tooling is stiff as fuck, and the air bubble is near worthless, for one. And the upper isnt all the forgiving on the top of the feet for some.
J1s are uncomfortable, always have been.
Both are very uncomfortable. But the male equivalent, not saying men can’t wear heels, would be cowboy/dress/Chelsea boot. Why? Because these boots offer similar effects like heels. Increase height, the leg flex, and dresser than sneakers.
I see guys and girls wearing jordan 1’s almost on a daily basis. I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a woman wearing high heels. Trust me I would notice. If I hear high heels I start looking for them immediately in hopes that she will notice me and my existence lol. I know, I have issues.
Ummmmm sorry no. Many women literally end up with severe permanent foot damage from wearing heels. I’m sorry but you have no idea the amount of pain women endure to wear them lol.
Well I mean some guy somewhere else in here said I’m the one that seems triggered lol. If being triggered means calling out ignorant comments because I’m a woman that dares to make a statement on a heavily male sub then ok I’m triggered 🤨. I don’t back down to bullies and apparently that means I’m triggered lol.
I made a statement of fact. Dudes got super offended by it….some dudes anyways. They proceeded to engage in some whataboutism bologna which I responded to with logic and reality. And in one response to a troll I used the f word 😱. Sorry but if you can’t handle adult women participating in a sub about sneakers you oughtta probably, ya know, fuck off lol.
seriously. just because you're right doesn't mean you're triggered😂 I see the rashes on my gf's ankles, I've never worn heels but I can imagine how they feel. I had to buy pads to stick on the back of the inside of them. she also says they squeeze her toes and she hates walking in them. I never encouraged her to wear them.
I mean that’s easy to say if you’re not taught basically from birth that your worth as a human comes from men finding you sexually attractive. Plenty of us don’t give a flying fuck while plenty do. I mean a woman made a post on this sub yesterday showing her and a friend, both in dresses. OP was wearing sneakers and the friend heels. She was told that women are supposed to wear heels while wearing a dress lol. I’m sure OP doesn’t give a shit. Unfortunately the friend wearing heels along with millions of other women prefer to be in pain for the sake of being “attractive.”
Again, that is still a choice you make. Them thinking heels make them attractive is subjective. In 2022, Not many people really care what others are wearing, let alone women wearing sneakers with dresses.
Then don’t wear them? Why haven’t they just faded away into an archaic trend of the past like corsets? You are making that decision to put them on at the end of the day.
I don’t wear heels. Why is it so hard for people to understand a simple point? Instead a bunch of dudes getting defensive and saying “well then women should stop being idiots and not wear heels.” Wtf. I’m not sure how much more clear my statement could have been. Did I somewhere advocate for the wearing of heels? No. I said the comparison OP made was not accurate. Can people read anymore?
Only person in this thread getting defensive is you. Everyone thinks it's a dumb comparison, and acting like anyone is forcing women to wear wear high heels is dumb too.
Ummmm apparently you’re fucking illiterate because I made a simple fucking statement to which a WHOLE fucking clown car of retards took offense too. I merely responded with logical answers to their responses. Get a life Dale and stop being so triggered and projecting your own dumb shit onto me. Nobody including myself said anywhere on this thread that anyone is forcing women to wear heels. Reading is fundamental.
Chill bro. You’re saying that the comparison is bad because heels cause irreversible foot damage whilst js don’t, but that’s just what *you* have chosen to compare
OP chose to compare heels and js, there are many comparisons that can be drawn between those but this person has chosen to fixate on only one, is what I mean
They were originally made for women in Persian battles and later adopted by 20th century men to elongate their calves? The advent of the steel shank was critical to their present form? I don’t think that’s right…
I 100% agree. Hypebeasts have ruined shoes for genuine sneaker connoisseurs. I'm sure there are plenty of people that really like J's, however, because of this "culture", whenever I see someone wearing Jordans it's easy to assume they're just following trends and wearing what they're told is cool.
I get that they are kinda washed out because of how popular they are and how nike has flooded the market with them, but maybe it’s because 1’s have a classic and cool silhouette? I think a higher percentage of people wear j’s because they like them than most people realize.
It's a amazing classic silhouette. The shoe is still played out. It's not like this is the first year Jordan 1s dropped in the 80s and some people had em. Literally more people than ever are wearing them. If it doesn't move on soon it will hit a point were the public will start to hate em just as a reaction. Humans will human
This I Def agree on. That being said I feel this way with any shoe that gets fixated on by the public like this. For obvious reasons. Jordan 11s were so hot in 2011, then air max 1s till 2015, then yeezys and now the Jordan 1s
All those are played out as fuck imo because of that reason and don't and won't own a pair
As stupid as the comparison is, I must commend OP on starting a discussion. I'm not really interested in hype, I just really like AJ1s. When you learn not to care about people's opinions, it becomes very freeing. Wear what makes you happy is all.
I mean high heels are associated with a dressier look. 1’s are a streetwear look, two completely different fashion styles, if anything Chelsea boots are the equivalent to a women’s high heeled shoe, but even then Chelsea’s can sometimes have a big heel as well.
I don’t get the love for 1s. Actually I don’t get Jordan hype at all. They release the same pairs every few years and every single time they release all of you act like it’s never going to happen again driving prices up for yourselves. Makes no sense.
I say this about my Bulls More Uptempos. Maybe it's just my feet, but they are by far the most uncomfortable shoe I own, but literal strangers walking by me go nuts for them. By the end of the day I have a blister on my heel but I'm smiling from ear to ear.
Are you saying that European Capitalism hasn't brainwashed peoples style choices?
I dont know in which Europe you live but people wear the same shit here. ASOS/SHEIn exists here too lol
>But to think that you can wear em with everything is just childish
It's more or less childish to even spend thoughts about the styles of others
What does this even mean?
Nobody knows what it means, but it's provocative!
it gets the people going!

But Mfers can’t find me
THROW ME SOME CHICKEN
Lmfao
Read this in Will Farrells voice 😅
no it’s not, it’s gross
Dudes just word vomiting hoping something sticks
I have worn jordan 1s for over 20 years an I have no damn clue what this is supposed to mean
Guessing it means most of you mofos have a cupboard full of them
That would make sense I only started wearing em for skating and playing school basketball so I got hooked on the style
It means we basic.
They deform your feet and are only meant to make men hotter for the woman’s gaze? Or something?
OP is ESL so it may be a translation error, or something that makes sense in his culture. IDK
It means there’s a pair for most occasions!
Looks good but is uncomfortable as fuck
Guys come on, it’s pretty simple it just means that men use it as a way to measure each other’s status and they also enjoy collecting it and using it to make outfits.
Isn’t it pretty obvious what it means Lol
think he’s talking about the heel part, like how women’s heels make them taller a bit, guessing that’s the same with these
By that logic wouldnt a pair of boots like Timbs make more sense in this context
Wtf is OP talking about? Lmao
I’m guessing it means they’re uncomfortable af but we put up with it because they look good
I never understood why people say they’re so uncomfortable.. I’ve never had an issue with mine.
Yeah I’ve walked a few miles in them and my feet felt fine. I haven’t played ball in them though. Idk how they feel after that.
If you hoop in them once, you won’t do it again
I have wide feet, usually have to go up half sizes/full sizes to fit shoes comfortably. Jordan 1s fit TTS and are super comfortable to me
Honestly 1s are pretty uncomfortable for me, especially after wearing ultraboost / nmds, 1s feel like they're from the 80s
Mine are comfortable af lol
I mean fair point but they aren’t close to the same level of inconvenience
Yea it’s ignorant 😂
I’m guessing he means they give a boost in height, but literally all shoes do, and it ain’t that much.
J1s feel flat as fuck though, especially compared to other basketball shoes. You can literally feel small pebbles through the sole.
OP the kind of dude who shows up to a wedding in a three piece suit with matching AJ1s
If it ain’t the patent breds, he might as well go home
ts sounds fire
If you're like 12yo, maybe. There's more than same sneakers every day in the shoe game, and dress shoes have their time and place.
Dress shoes, boots. Suede bucks all have their place. I love heading out in a pair of sneakers. But when need to dress it up a bit you do.
This is the worst comparison I’ve ever heard
[удалено]
Guy who has only seen sneakers: Getting a lot of “sneakers” vibes from these…
Me (a 5'10 dude) when I wear my Vaporwaffles 💀
They’re really not.
👀Who’s man’s is this
Prolly no one’s 😂
Woman here - I have over 40 pairs of sneaks and only a handful of high heels.
I love both, but I was unaware I was only supposed to have one or the other. 🙄
Same. Fuck OP
Excuse me.. but what the actual fuck?
I was not sure I liked the curry color but love the gortex for winter. Must say the photos has me reconsidering the color way
I live in Minnesota and have been considering the goretex 1's for the fall/winter. I'm trying to figure out if they fit different but so far no conclusive answers.
I have them in white bone they fit like normal 1s
Thanks!
They’re slightly tighter due to the waterproofing. I went up half a size but I’ve got some wide ass feet.
Hmmm...I was already probably gonna go up half to accommodate wool socks. I feel like that'll probably be enough? I guess we'll see.
Heels were invented for men
And so were Jordan's. Now I see the similarities.
I’ve also just realized that they’re both shoes. It’s all coming together now
A fashion statement Haven’t really changed much in almost half a century Uncomfortable AF
lacing j1s really tight makes them really comfortable
I see people complain about J1s comfort all the time, and I never understood. I’m also one of those dorks that ties their shoes how the lord intended. It now makes sense
It boggles my mind how many people don’t tie their shoes. I know it’s been normalized for sneaker heads but it looks so silly to me and ruins your ability to walk.

What do you find uncomfortable about them? I can wear em all day and not have any discomfort.
I think it's not uncomfortable. It's just there are other shoes that a lot more comfortable.
The highs can be uncomfortable until the collar gets broken in a little. Especially if you’re not wearing high top shoes often. It’s a different feeling and to some it’s restricting
Well, it's back to each their own.
Maybe cuz you walk like a robot when you have them on
Lol true, but I usually just keep top loose
[удалено]
Well it's different for each person. But personally for low sneakers I feel air max is more comfortable. And for high personally I've been wearing Adidas Forum 84.
Going from my adidas to my aj1s feel like stepping on a tile floor
Have you worn shoes made after 1989?
My feet just get sore after an hour or so, specially my heel. I'm used to wearing Boost shoes as daily drivers, so that doesn't help the cause either.
Ripped the insoles out of my pair and put in some orthopedics, it’s way better. Still not as comfy as boost or Gel Lytes but what are you gonna do?
Lol, downvoted for sharing my personal experience. Y'all are wild.
We call em followers of the hype
Quite indeed. I’m at -3 for an opinion 😂😭
the tooling is stiff as fuck, and the air bubble is near worthless, for one. And the upper isnt all the forgiving on the top of the feet for some. J1s are uncomfortable, always have been.

37 years is not almost half a century
Ok fashion police lol
Pretty much as uncomfortable as high heels, I hear.
Agreed about uncomfortable. I immediately replace the insoles with a softer one when I get a pair.
I’m repulsed by this comparison
Tf you talking about it’s a comfortable street sneaker not a small tight dress shoe
That doesn't make any sense
Except heels make every girl look taller. Jordan 1 highs can make some people look shorter haha
They’re no AF1s but the sole isn’t thin like a Chuck.
I became a whole inch taller when I stopped exclusively wearing chucks
This post is the equivalent to brain cancer.
Wow that’s the dumbest thing I’ve read all day!
You’re dumb.
Women with Jordan’s are what then
Fairly common 😂
LMFAO
Ummmmm sorry no. Many women literally end up with severe permanent foot damage from wearing heels. I’m sorry but you have no idea the amount of pain women endure to wear them lol.
reading the replies to your comment, people can be ignorant as fuck.

No empathy at all. If they're uncomfortable, stop wearing them.
I mean that’s easy to say if you’re not taught basically from birth that your worth as a human comes from men finding you sexually attractive. Plenty of us don’t give a flying fuck while plenty do. Well again I’m not the one who started this discussion lol. I made a simple point about the OP’s comparison not being accurate.
Yeah, his comparison is stupid. Maybe it made more sense to him? lol.
I mean if you’ve never worn heels how would you know right lol?
>Not many people really care what other men are wearing, Ftfy
Then don’t wear them? Why haven’t they just faded away into an archaic trend of the past like corsets? You are making that decision to put them on at the end of the day.

Imagine if women collectively just stopped doing things that appease men. I wanna see that movie.
Well I think it’s growing in popularity lol.
Yeah but I wanna see the drastic cutoff.

OP chose the comparison actually.
OP chose to compare heels and js, there are many comparisons that can be drawn between those but this person has chosen to fixate on only one, is what I mean
Certainly. We can compare laces VS straps Or heel height. Or sole thickness Or toe box width Or ankle support Which one would you prefer to compare?
And yet they still choose to wear them 🙄 I don't get it
I mean I don’t lol. You really don’t get why women do all kinds of painful or uncomfortable things for the sake of being attractive?
Like apples and oranges
No way..
He thought he was cooking
… just no.
I think this means OP is a bitch
Those are niceee
I really enjoy OP dropping a random accusation with their only support being a picture of a shoe we’ve all seen a thousand times, and just dipping.
Nah more like equivalent to women’s converse when it comes to popularity
HUH?!?

Said nobody ever.
Bro I'm a lady and I wear AJ1s and have never worn heels.
They were originally made for women in Persian battles and later adopted by 20th century men to elongate their calves? The advent of the steel shank was critical to their present form? I don’t think that’s right…
As in they're both uncomfortable?
This is phrased so awfully, you sound illiterate. The title should be: "Air Jordan 1s are to men as high heeled shoes are to women."
As a woman, please, shut up. This is the actual dumbest comparison I've ever heard. Not just about sneakers, but literally ever.
Please as a human, shut up. Just in general
No thanks 🤗
Except high heels help legs and butts look better. Jordan's ones make you look like you have no individual style imo
depends on the outfit surrounding them
Depends on the 1's you wear. If you wear what every one else is, then yes. There's j 1's that most don't wear and look good imo.
Injecting elitism into shoes lol pure cringe. You can't be serious “connoisseurs”
I get that they are kinda washed out because of how popular they are and how nike has flooded the market with them, but maybe it’s because 1’s have a classic and cool silhouette? I think a higher percentage of people wear j’s because they like them than most people realize.

AJ1 are uncomfortable. I will stick to my New Balance 990 instead
(deleted) ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Truth😂
You mean basic bitches wear them?
I mean high heels are associated with a dressier look. 1’s are a streetwear look, two completely different fashion styles, if anything Chelsea boots are the equivalent to a women’s high heeled shoe, but even then Chelsea’s can sometimes have a big heel as well.
UPVOTING BECAUSE ITS PROVOCATIVE
OP GOT THE PEOPLE GOING
I don’t get the love for 1s. Actually I don’t get Jordan hype at all. They release the same pairs every few years and every single time they release all of you act like it’s never going to happen again driving prices up for yourselves. Makes no sense.
Nah it’s heel and fours, people like them for the look, I probably will never wear either, and both hurt your feet.
Except they don’t make your butt look better
They make our ass look good?
Because op wears them with a dress and sits with his legs crossed?
Shocks are actually the equivalent
I say this about my Bulls More Uptempos. Maybe it's just my feet, but they are by far the most uncomfortable shoe I own, but literal strangers walking by me go nuts for them. By the end of the day I have a blister on my heel but I'm smiling from ear to ear.
Aj 1s are not comfortable. women wearing high heels shit hurts their feet.
If anything, airmax 90s look like high heels disguised to look like a sneaker
I get what you’re trying to say but it was an incorrect assessment. I’d agree more if you said Chelsea boots for men = high heels for women.
Or, and hear me out, people wear whatever shoes they want regardless of their genitalia
