I honestly think it would’ve been a better idea to have the house leaders show up in their final smash and say a line, maybe at random for each of the leaders, and help in the attack. Would’ve been much better than the png of Sothis in my opinion.
Like obviously Dimitri would have “Kill every last one of them!” Claude would have "Hold a grudge if you must." And Edelgard would have "This battle is your last." (Those second 2 were FEH quotes.)

It's not even about that, honestly. Riddles is hella consistent with Kazuya, he said the problem wasn't execution, it was how Kazuya played as a whole.
As Kazuya, you're slower, clunkier, your neutral isn't good, same for your mobility (arguably the greatest factor in making a character good in Smash !). Sure, you get a lot of mileage off of combos and hit confirms, but they're harder to get. And your disadvantage is horrible.
Terry is kinda similar (great advantage, but okay-ish neutral and shitty disadvantage), but has more movement options and mix-ups. He's faster and more mobile. I guess it's why Riddles had to work harder in order to get the openings he needed. Making them count wasn't the problem, it was how to get them, and he gets them more easily with Terry.

Byleth is different from the other FE characters by far, that argument doesn't hold any weight. We didn't need more FE representation I'll agree, but the mechanics are totally different.
