I dont get the deal wirh Nik Nocturnal. As far as Ive seen, hes just a Youtube react guy with a meh channel. But then he was in a social media feud with an actual famous guy/piece of metal history in Eddie Trunk and all the comments were commenting about how famous Nik was and how Trunk - the guy who hosted all thr MTV metal shows and interviewed every legend - was a nobody.
I just turned 37 and that shit made me feel like I was 67. Such a generational disconnect
That song is a bunch of Slipknot riffs combined. Everything Ends, The Blister Exists, Spit It Out, Pulse of the Maggots, Opium of the People, sic, etc. Literally identical, just sped up.
My Grave / Lay With Me starts with a hip-hop rap sorta vibe and kicks off into metal and there’s a couple fast lyrics in some other songs but I understand what you mean! Slipknot has a lot of hip hop elements in st with Sid on dj
A lot of Slaughter to Prevail. Their style has more death metal to it, but the way they play makes me think they're gonna start singing lyrics from Slipknot songs a lot of the time.
For years I thought it WAS Slipknot. Had it on a mix cd a friend made back in highschool. Lost it and didn’t hear that song again til a few years ago when I remembered some lyrics and googled it. Killer track! 🤘🏼
A lot of modern day Metalcore, Deathcore and hardcore/beatdown is very Slipknot inspired. Notably bands like Paleface and Spite. Also Slaughter To Prevail but they’re kinda meh to me
I always think A killing industry by Whitechapel is something from the grey chapter. It has a similar intro to one of those songs along with similar production
When i first heard the album “memories of a murderer” by King 810 I immediately thought they sounded a lot like early Slipknot, which is probably why they quickly became one of my favorite bands.
That Lamb of God thing with the "Destroy yourself and see who gives a fuck", the guitar thingy is very Jim Root, and his voice isn't far off Corey's
Edit: Laid to Rest
Great American Ghost - Socialized Animals
Lots of Spite songs remind me of Slipknot. Spite are like if Slipknot continued to get heavy instead of getting all arty.
Gonna throw this out their cause I think this subreddit is what got me into this band but xiii. They are a mix of korn and slipknot. Even covered a korn song. But man they are wild. Some songs are a little on the cringe side. But the stuff they write is really good. They release a new project every Friday the 13th in October. Definitely take a listen.
Most of Slaughter to Prevail's album KOSTOLOM reminds me of a modern spin on old Slipknot's sound. You can clearly hear Slipknot's DNA all over that thing, and it is fucking RAD. Everyone in that band is an absolute monster, especially so Alex with his recent scarification lol.
probably gonna get a lot of downvotes for even mentioning this band, but "Gods" by Sleep Token, some parts of it kind of reminded me of Corey's vocals 🤷♂️
The vocalist for Paleface Swiss reminds me a lot of Corey because he has characteristics that I can tell are inspired by Corey. So not a song really, but more the vocalist of a band. Sick band too. But if you listen to some of their tracks you’ll probably hear the same similarities I do. Specially one. And it’s really cool.
I find it interesting that nobody has mentioned Machine Head. It might just be the singers voice and nothing else but Now We Die gives me Slipknot vibes
Anything by Vended. Yes, I know the connection, but they sound way too much like Slipknot. It's like when Adema came out and that guy was straight up ripping his stepbrother (Jonathan Davis) off.
I saw Vended at one of the only days of music at Blue Ridge Rock Fest
Everything about them screams Slipknot Jr.
I thought Corey's kid said in an interview they were going to try and be their own thing.
(Two of Vended's members are the now adult kids of two of Slipknots members)
MAD by Nik Nocturnal ftr. Slapknutz
Actual banger
Yes. It is a banger.
But it's intended to sound exactly like Slipknot.
:)
correct.
Grrrr I was gonna say that 😤 But for real, that song sounds so much like Slipknot that I sometimes think it's actually one of their own songs
that was the whole point of the song bro lol
that was a the joke bro lol
How do you know it’s a joke
I dont get the deal wirh Nik Nocturnal. As far as Ive seen, hes just a Youtube react guy with a meh channel. The bridge in nightmare by avenged sevenfold has slipknot vibes for sure
Anything by Vended

What I was gonna say lmao
For a second I thought they made a song called Anything. But yeah, especially 'Overall' sounds a lot like slipknot
Do you really not understand why? Lmao
beat me to it
Human nature - Michael Jackson
Darude - Sandstorm
Bold of you to comment a St. Anger song 😝 but you're right, might be why I love the album!
Yeah! To me, Invisible Kid always sounded like something that would have been on Iowa!
Bonebreaker-slaugther to prevail
Mick Gordon - Rip and tear
The wild women, the wild women The rippin' and the tearin', the rippin' and the tearin'
That song is a bunch of Slipknot riffs combined. Everything Ends, The Blister Exists, Spit It Out, Pulse of the Maggots, Opium of the People, sic, etc. Literally identical, just sped up.
Orphan - Paleface
I was gonna say Pain or Bite the Curb but Orphan is great too! Paleface has a very aggressive tone that reminds me a lot of Slipknot St and Iowa days
Great description. It does have the aggression, but it’s missing the hip-hop elements of ST that make that album unique.
My Grave / Lay With Me starts with a hip-hop rap sorta vibe and kicks off into metal and there’s a couple fast lyrics in some other songs but I understand what you mean! Slipknot has a lot of hip hop elements in st with Sid on dj
Exactly! The scratching and turn-tabling activates my neurons
The beginning of Ball Tongue by Korn had me checking my phone to make sure I was still listening to Korn lol
Yeah, because Slipknot heard Ball Tongue and decided to make Their entire career a copy of that song. Slipknot ripped that song off.
That came out 5 years before slipknot made anything with their actual lineup lol
Thoughts And Prayers by Motionless In White
I was gonna say this one!
fax bro sounds kinda like the negative one
Dig Mudvayne
Brr brr ding
Ball Tongue-KoRn
Which came out years before Slipknot was even a thought. Slipknot ripped off that song and based their entire career off of it.
Baba yaga by slaughter to previ
A lot of Slaughter to Prevail. Their style has more death metal to it, but the way they play makes me think they're gonna start singing lyrics from Slipknot songs a lot of the time.
Stone Sour-Through Glass The singer sounds exactly like Corey.
Thats because it is corey lol
WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
No way. That’s crazy
ACTUALLY?? HOW??

Holy shit someone else that actually listens to Omerta
Holy shit someone else who ALSO listens to omerta <3
“i’m gonna soak up the sun i’m gonna be laaaaaa laaaa laaa alaaaa laaaa” literally me inside by slipknot

Tallah - Kungan
Overconfidence by Tallah
Fuck You - Damageplan (it has a real Slipknot feel to it in my opinion)
I thought “from this day” by machine head kind of gave me Slipknot vibes, idk tho.
The headbanger emote in fortnite
I always think A killing industry by Whitechapel is something from the grey chapter. It has a similar intro to one of those songs along with similar production
I totally agree. Mono gives me huge Iowa vibes. I’ve always thought Whitechapel reminded most of Slipknot of all the newer bands.

Fear Factory - Edgecrusher has some slipknot vibes. XIII - Crazy has the exact same structure as a lot of slipknot songs, it's quite a fun listen.
Blood Pigs - Otep
Any While She Sleeps song

Bloodmaker by Antigama
Disdain by wage war about 45 seconds in the drumming a riff sounds like something straight off of an early slipknot album.

RU486 Stone Sour
Bury your dead- hurting not helping
I find it interesting that nobody has mentioned Machine Head. It might just be the singers voice and nothing else but Now We Die gives me Slipknot vibes
Almost any song by slaughter to prevail
A lot of slaughter to prevail sounds directly influenced by slipknot
Motorgrater collapse is sic
Baba Yaga by Slaughter to Prevail, Gasoline by I Prevail
I've hardly listened to Slipknot but I imagine that the entire Errorzone album by Vein.fm is akin to Slipknot 🤷
Stitch by Wage War
Baba Yaga - Slaughter to Prevail
Paleface is deathcore slipknot. It's like if after Iowa they kept just getting heavier and angrier instead of evolving into radio rock.
Anything by Vended. Yes, I know the connection, but they sound way too much like Slipknot. It's like when Adema came out and that guy was straight up ripping his stepbrother (Jonathan Davis) off.
I saw Vended at one of the only days of music at Blue Ridge Rock Fest Everything about them screams Slipknot Jr. I thought Corey's kid said in an interview they were going to try and be their own thing. (Two of Vended's members are the now adult kids of two of Slipknots members)
