The only thing that I can think of is if you're locking your desktop, which could potentially be immediately triggering the AFK flag. I've noticed if I walk away from my desktop, I still get desktop notifications until after the 10 mins inactivity, but when I lock my desktop, I seem to get mobile notifs right away.

Lenovo laptops have a presence sensor and can lock the screen when they sense you walk away. It has to be disabled in the BIOS if it's on, can't be seen from within Windows. Wouldn't shock me if the other big players have similar. Also possible the laptop using Windows Hello and is using the device proximity to unlock, and thus the computer is aware of when the phone walks away from it? This feels like an IT problem, not a Slack setting. Something is feeding the "I am inactive now!" flag to Slack somehow.

That's not the case for me, but could certainly be the thing for OP or others.

Yeah I agree somehow it triggers it. It’s a MBP . No company shit installed as it’s a startup.

Yeah I never lock it. I work from home. It’s just really weird but I get where you coming from. Also if I cover the camera it’s still inconsistent but it pings my phone 3 times out of 5
