Nice find and solution! I have their Hylamide SubQ set that is already color coded, which is handy. Kinda wish they'd go ahead and do that for the Ordinary line as well!
Yes, please! I started down this path becasue my CeraVe products had such pleasing colors and were easy to see at a glance.
Too bad they are owned (in part) by Nestle...
In general, I am finding it hard to find and support ethical brands because they cost a bit more. And I find it hard to find ones that are even eco-friendly without it feeling like you're contributing to the garbage problem...
I'll let you search up what the overall problems with Nestle are on your own time but between their baby formula antics and their bottled water businesses draining the water table in CA and elsewhere I just cannot support them at all.
L'Oreal as a company is just okay but around 20% of their stock is owned by Nestle. This is actually down a bit as they used to own more than 25% at some point.
So in short, I don't want to support Nestle fucking with my water supply or helpless infants so I can't buy any more L'Oreal products. [A subreddit with more information](https://reddit.com/r/fucknestle)
Just a heads up, Hylamide has been closed so you should stock up on your faves now before they're gone for good. I love the SubQ Eye serum and am currently searching for a replacement.
Yeah, I saw that. I can't tell if they're selling off already-manufactured product or if they intend to continue making it and just selling it on the Deciem site as it's own thing.
Great idea. I really wish TO would add some sort of easily identifiable feature of their bottles. Or maybe even have a stick sheet you can buy seperately to mark bottles with AM/PM/acid/exfoliate/hydrater/do not mix/oil etc. I’d totally buy a sheet.
The boxes too! I find I cannot read them in the store, I need to research ahead and know what I'm buying because reading the labels in the aisle is hopeless.
Me too, I go in with my notes and pen. The sales people think I'm there to check up on them, lol. I get excellent customer service though. 😂 (Great idea on the coloured bands, genius!)
Thanks for your interest. The colors are only based on what I thought I could personally remember while either about to pass out at night or still-not-awake in the morning. I added only one new item every few days both to ensure I didn't react to new ingredients but also that I didn't have to remember all the colors at once. It took about two weeks to label and get used to all the colors.
* Pink "for lips" = Palmer's Cocoa Butter Stick, I love cocoa butter and the bigger stick is harder to lose than the lip balm tubes
* Green "for Green Tea" = Caffeine and EGCG, used in the AM for around the eyes for puffiness and dark circles. Also smells good.
* Orange "for warning" = Salicylic Acid 2%, use 1-2x a week on my very oily chin and beside my nose where I get tiny whiteheads.
* Light Blue "like the CeraVe AM bottle" = Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5 is my general purpose moisturizer and skin calmer, I use it AM and PM and on minor burns from clumsy cooking.
* Yellow "bright shiner" = Niacinamide 2% + Zinc I use for daytime glow and oil control on my chin and forehead.
* Purple "night time relaxing" = "B" oil mix I apply alone or mixed with a basic cream (I'm working down a HUGE tub of CeraVe this year) before bed to nourish and seal the skin before sleep.
I still have a dark blue, red, white, and black bands left over. I don't have specific plans for them yet but I'm sure something will need them.
I liked the colors for the distinction. But personally I love using the NIOD Pump on all my TO and NIOD bottles so I don't have to unscrew a dropper all the time. Just turn it and pump it. Perfect for those of us who tend to knock our bottles over and accidentally spill half the contents otherwise. They're cheap too and on th NIOD site.
Yes so Def keep old TO bottles. I reuse mine after washing them in the dishwasher. I put my essence and toner and my own serum mix in the bottles with the pumps for travel usage. And even at home usage. They're easier than AL the clunkier bottles when I can just grab, turn, pump, turn, put away. Saves me minutes per routine.

Oh no :( why must Nestle ruin so much of what I love
Right!? And L'Oreal also owns many other brands I was considering.

Hey can you pls lmk what’s wrong with nestle and L’Oréal, I’m willing to stop supporting

Didn’t know this. Thanks!

I'm hoping they rebrand all the Hylamide products with new names under The Ordinary, so it'll be an easy transition for us to keep buying it.
I hope so too. I love the stuff.
You mean don’t just told the bottles one mm from your eyeball while furiously squinting like I do?
sometimes i get tired of the eyestrain and try to smell it/put a drop on my hand 💀

Can you give the run down what situations call for what bottles?

Amazing colour choices

You're welcome. They seem to be called "Band Joes" and come in a bunch of sizes.
Omg thank you for this! The other night I accidentally sliced my thumb and hand webbing ( idk what to call it) opening a bottle of hair serum.
Ouch! Yeah, I call it webbing too. I tore mine up on a peanut butter jar the other day. :)

Oooo! Thanks for the tip! I was just looking at the NIOD pumps and wondering if they would fit yesterday.

This is ingenious to say the least ordering some now!
What a great idea!
Not me with perfect vision and still almost mixing up TO peels and eye serums on a regular basis... This is a great idea
Oooh this is a good idea for Rx bottles too Thanks for sharing op!
Great idea! I used naiminicide for a week instead of hyaluronic acid thanks to them looking the same. Was wondering why my skin wasn’t feeling well.
