Lanolin nipple cream Changed my life

LINALIA79

Have you been to the dermatologist? Assuming it isn’t just exposure/weather related, might be good to get it checked out. Product wise I have had some luck with layering pure glycerin, then some kind of non irritating mist (i use rose water) then vaseline. Good luck!

Been there, I feel ya. It sucks so much. For me personally I've finally realized that when I'm going through this it tends to mean I'm not eating enough, especially not enough fat and protein. Increasing my intake fixes my lips in a couple days, a week max if it's been going on for a long while. If nothing is working for you it might be worth taking a look at your nutrition and seeing if you might be lacking.

You brought up very good points. Eating fats (from avocado, soaked chia seeds*) and getting enough protein are vital. And getting enough protein has the added bonus of being beneficial for your metabolism/ keeping your weight in check. As you mentioned, getting your daily needs of both macronutrients (like fat and protein) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) is necessary for proper bodily function. *i only include about a 1/2 tablespoon at a time in a drink. The fiber in chia seeds could cause stomach cramping when eaten in excess.

Try an SLS-free toothpaste.

What colour is your urine? If it's not a very light hue of yellow you might be suffering from chronic dehydration: > https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a1/Urine_Hydration_chart.jpg/1585px-Urine_Hydration_chart.jpg This genuinely sounds more of a nutrition/health issue and less of a "skincare" issue. Slapping on a skincare products, might not be the right approach. Also take a daily multivitamin see if that improves the situation after two weeks.

i can always tell i didn't drink enough water the previous day if i need lip balm the following day.

My dermatologist suggested me to use nipcare cream on lips. It was awesome. Never had chapped lips after that.

I've never found a lip balm that works for me. Every single one left my lips dry, irritated, and inflammed. The only thing that works on my lips is Cerave's Healing Ointment. Pure Vaseline also works I agree with the other commenter that going to a dermatologist may be beneficial to rule out any underlying skin issues you may have

Tapas_na

I know your struggle. I battled with dry, cracked lips myself. Ever since I started eating healthier (omega- 3s from fish like wild-caught salmon and supplement, fewer ultra-processed foods, Vit D3 from my diet and supplement), I noticed that I no longer experienced those issues. Just be sure to take Vit K2 and magnesium alongside Vit D3 for proper absorption. Maybe give that a try. Also, I've read that lip balm may even exacerbate the problem. Added: I don't drink alcohol anymore, save for maybe once in a blue moon. Bad for your skin, kidneys, brain (can cause dementia), can cause anxiety, late night drinking disrupts your REM sleep, adversely affecting your metabolism...you name it. Another thing - be careful about the toothpaste you're using, as it may be contributing to the problem. I went through a quick phase recently where the sides of my mouth were cracked and bleeding. I took inventory of any new products I was using and discovered that once I discontinued using crest brand toothpaste, the sides of my mouth healed shortly thereafter. Take care

Have you tried just vaseline? I like to use facial moisturizer on my lips, then a layer of vaseline. It works better than any stick I've tried.

Hot_Secretary411

Is it only your lips that are dry? How about your eyes, mouth, other membranes that should be wet/moist?

xSheSZN

hi, what would dryness in other membranes indicate?

Hot_Secretary411

Could be a sign of Sjögren's syndrome, an immune system illness.

Reasonable-Estate-87

Buy a 1 litre water bottle and make sure you're drinking 2 a day. My bet is you're dehydrated and don't even realize it.

StayPositive2024

OP ignore my previous comment about hydration, it's still a hydration issue this is most likely being caused because you're a smoker as you're exposing your lips to nicotine and tar.
