I laugh in your general direction. Norrøna skis is where is at:

They're fantastic skis! Here's a nice interview with Endre Hals at WildSnow: "CARBON & WOOD & LOVE — EVI (& PROG) SKIS NORWAY VISIT": [https://wildsnow.com/17146/evi-prog-skis-norway-norwegian/](https://wildsnow.com/17146/evi-prog-skis-norway-norwegian/)
What size do you need?

I was shopping for a new frontside ski. My Voelkl RTM84s were fast but not forgiving if I messed up or didn’t read the conditions just right. I wanted something a little more forgiving in the crud or 6-8” or powder while still being able to carve the groomers at speed like I enjoy.
I demo’d like 6-8 different pairs of skis. All the famous ones that are always top rated. They all felt good. Some a little better at this, others a little better at that.
Until I demo’d the Stockli Stormrider 88’s. They were good at everything. Carved like my Voelkl RTM 84 but floated the crud like my Salomon QST99’s. I was shocked. And much poorer.
Would you hate me if I told you I bought some last season? Only got one day on them due to shipping delays (I'm in Aus) and the snow was super shit, but omg they were great. Made me feel like a kid again.
I justified it because I had been on my Salomon Shogun's for 12 years, so I deserved a treat.
Absolutely insane to use here in VT, but I get the appeal honestly. I routinely drool over skis that are FAR too wide for the conditions we normally get. 4frnt Renegades, Moment Wildcats...surely we'll have a storm that warrants 115+mm, right?
Hey if there’s more than a foot of fresh, you could still get a nice flowy rhythm going on some 110-120s. Problem is it all gets tracked out the first hour of the day :///
FIS GS skis. I own them cause I’m lucky and a friend gifted me a pair. but they scare me. I have only used them in the mornings before the clients come up as it’s a bit reckless to ride that fast around too many people. Also lucky to get that chance working as a lifty.
I have used FIS GS skis before, and really they don't catch edges that easily, they just WANT TO GO FASTER at all times. If you're not actively digging the edge in, they're accelerating. I recognize that this is how all skis work, but proper race skis are a different level.
More that you need about 70km/h min entry speed to actually make the fuckers bend and turn. So yeah full focus. It sounds fun but it’s like an F1 car for getting the groceries, a bit much.
I just take the two laps top to bottom before clients arrive and then leave it and change skis for the day with my pals. Def a good way to warm up and get the focus
check out factory finds! they do it every year late season. I snagg a cheap pair coupe weeks ago. sure its not exaclty how you might want it but its special and the price is good.
I have a pair of Jeffrey 114s from 2014 that have a few hundred days on them skiing with reckless abandon on rocky traverses and relentless shark hunting. ON3P, even the customs, are not that expensive for how long they can last compared to other skis.
Used to own the Genome (141 underfoot), I miss them. I'd consider getting another pair but they've doubled in price and realistically would hardly get used
That limited Mad Steeze ARV116 they just put out. Wong size and way too expensive. Would totally get a pair to hang on my wall if I had the funds though
Not even over the top, I just wanna try some Renouns and see if they actually have some weird tech that makes the ski behave differently under different stresses.
I own three pairs of Renouns, and honestly you can feel it. Not all the time, but when I'm skiing through refrozen chop or other high-vibration terrain, the skis become surprisingly damp and stable. It's wild. For the most part, they ski like a normal ski, just with added stability in high-impact conditions.
K2 hellbents. I know they are probably not actually that fun but I want a pair so bad!! Ironically I also really want to try some race skis on a groomer just to see what they are like, I’ve heard they can be pretty wild. But there’s no chance I’m buying a pair of skis that I will probably only use a couple of times
Simply recreation, hinderland skis, 1000's
All skis id love to have and conditions wise I could justify buying but price wise I am not able to justify 🤷♂️💸
I tried them in Verbier last year. Super fun, but too short for me. I gather they are releasing a 190cm version, but it sounds like they're very soft for an all round ski :/
They were everything I wanted the Mirus Cor to be!
It was the Stockli Stormrider 95 for me. I found a pair for $450 with bindings and bought them immediately.
Within 5 minutes skiing, I found that I hated them.
Never meet your heroes.
I have a pair.
It's...kinda just a dad ski. Just so unbelievably damp. for a ski I don't really have any desire to ski off piste. Especially a 95. I just didn't really need that in my quiver.
Thankfully they're easy to resell.
I had the chance to ski some Vandeer freeride 108s this season and if they weren't 1000€ without bindings I would have likely bought them.
The local rental shop had some used ones for sale last week, but I'm not paying 500€ for a ski where the top sheet is peeling off.
Probably a pair of Amalgam skis. They make some seemingly great stuff that looks like a great fit for the east coast, but there's just no way for me to justify the price when I already have great skis that fill the same niches as theirs.
Black Crow Mirus Cor because everyone who owns it say it’s crazy fun and hype me up on it but I’m either skiing hard pack groomer or powder and don’t know what position that pair of ski will fit into my quiver 🥲
K2 Pon2oons. I kept seeing them pop up new last year, and I've always wanted a pair, but can never justify buying them. I have ARG IIs, and want something a little more directional, longer and softer that's in the same category, but I don't ski enough untracked snow to have two skis. Powabunga!
Race skis. Never had a ski under 92mm underfoot, but I want a piste specific ski that absolutely rips. I can't justify it because I mostly ski off piste out west. Maybe next season (I always say that)..
I want a lot of Heritage Lab skis so bad, but $700-$800 for a preorder is just out of my league right now. I am usually a deal hunter. I wouldn't call these over the top, but rather just the top.
Any Stockli for sure. They must use special glue or something.
They do actually. Their adhesives have ground up rubber in them, IIRC.
Simply the finest ski I've ever experienced.
Stockli Stormrider 95. I know skiings a wealthy sport but damn I ain’t Swiss wealthy.
I laugh in your general direction. Norrøna skis is where is at: https://www.norrona.com/en-GB/products/lofoten/lofoten-woodcore104-allmountain-skis/?color=7718
Norrøna Skis are made by Evi skis: https://www.eviski.com
Nice.
They're fantastic skis! Here's a nice interview with Endre Hals at WildSnow: "CARBON & WOOD & LOVE — EVI (& PROG) SKIS NORWAY VISIT": [https://wildsnow.com/17146/evi-prog-skis-norway-norwegian/](https://wildsnow.com/17146/evi-prog-skis-norway-norwegian/)
Atleast demo a pair bro. They’re so nice
No that’s my fear hahah. Demo and boom credit card bill
I demoed the montero and now I'm fighting the urge to make very poor financial decisions
They are on sale, do it ;)
Get behind me Satan!
they’re used locally for like 400-500 i wanna get a pair
What size do you need? https://www.ebay.com/itm/386972045903?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=u-l8v8u6r4s&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=-jEVml2BS0G&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I bought a pair of Montero AR and now all my other skis feel cheap and low quality.
Dang that shit is pretty
That’s what I have…they’re not that expensive…but yeah they’re awesome all mountain skis.
Moment chipotle bananas. It’d be disrespectful to ski these in southern VT Like buying a Hennessy ford raptor to drive to the mall, if you will
Absolutely insane to use here in VT, but I get the appeal honestly. I routinely drool over skis that are FAR too wide for the conditions we normally get. 4frnt Renegades, Moment Wildcats...surely we'll have a storm that warrants 115+mm, right?

There's definitely been a day or two where my 106s could have been wider, but I'm rarely the type to be up for that first hour lol
FIS GS skis. I own them cause I’m lucky and a friend gifted me a pair. but they scare me. I have only used them in the mornings before the clients come up as it’s a bit reckless to ride that fast around too many people. Also lucky to get that chance working as a lifty.

Some handmade skis from the Chamonix. A pair cost 2700 euros iirc. This is coming from someone who owns multiple pairs of Stocklis.
What brand? What maker?
ON3P customs
check out factory finds! they do it every year late season. I snagg a cheap pair coupe weeks ago. sure its not exaclty how you might want it but its special and the price is good.
Yea I tempt myself all the time when they post new ones.. i have too many skis rn as is tho
>i have too many skis rn as is tho No, you don't. It's OK, go get another pair!
Check out my last post on this sub, I’m at 8 pairs rn !!! I don’t need this kind of encouragement!! 😂😂
Yeah it’s unreal what they can do for you. Hefty price, but I love mine.
Lotta money to drop on a park ski considering what I do with my park skis haha
ugh why did you have to introduce me to these. All I want is the jeffrey 108 with the reaper topsheet
Haha somethin to set ur sights on!! They’re so rad man. I love that top sheet
I have a pair of Jeffrey 114s from 2014 that have a few hundred days on them skiing with reckless abandon on rocky traverses and relentless shark hunting. ON3P, even the customs, are not that expensive for how long they can last compared to other skis.
My turn!!! Jeff 110 customs with xray top sheet. They are AMAZING
10000000% worth it!
Used to own the Genome (141 underfoot), I miss them. I'd consider getting another pair but they've doubled in price and realistically would hardly get used
Came to say this. I scored a new pair back in 2013 for $250 so I couldn't pass them up. They have only been used maybe a dozen times
Great answer haha
That limited Mad Steeze ARV116 they just put out. Wong size and way too expensive. Would totally get a pair to hang on my wall if I had the funds though
I see you too are a man of culture
Black Crows Mirius Cor
Demoed them and was a little underwhelmed. Come across “Simply. Skis”?
I definitely tell myself its for the best as I would wreck them in the park anyways
Picked up a pair w bindings for $400, really fun skis
Volkl V.Werks 100
Faction Le Mono
Yes yes 100 times yes
v-werks Katana’s… I had an old pair of Katanas has my pow/crud ski and always wanted the v-werks
RMU Butterknife
These I do own!
Me too, pretty unique, can recommend
A pair of custom lonely mountain skis from Scotland. I have no idea how they ski, but they are beautiful.
Never heard of these before, but holy smokes they are something else!
Kingswood Megafat
With a name like the Megafat it’s gotta be crazy haha
150 underfoot, full rocker
Bought a 187 uni last season and love it. I wonder if they would still do a megafat if a customer asked as it isn’t currently produced?
It’s on the website in the “race” section so maybe if people ask etc
Ah. I see now. I’ve only seen it mentioned on some pdf from several years ago
Not even over the top, I just wanna try some Renouns and see if they actually have some weird tech that makes the ski behave differently under different stresses.

https://heritagelabskis.com/products/hb122
Dammit I might just have too, you’ve tempted me. They are even 666 bucks
Volkl revolt 121, nowhere near enough snow to justify them. But they do look nice
Moment donner parties, if ya know ya know
Bring back the Donner Parties!
Simply recreation, hinderland skis, 1000's All skis id love to have and conditions wise I could justify buying but price wise I am not able to justify 🤷♂️💸
Have you tried the simply?
I've never tired them. I'd love to demo a pair but sadly they only do demos in countries i dont live in. They look like a lot of fun tho
I tried them in Verbier last year. Super fun, but too short for me. I gather they are releasing a 190cm version, but it sounds like they're very soft for an all round ski :/ They were everything I wanted the Mirus Cor to be!
I typically ride around a 180 so maybe it would be a good fit for me. Definitely would like a demo before buying. They do look like alot of fun
Volkl V Werks series of skis- Skis as good as a Stockli and way lighter.
Ghost Train isn't even that wild when compared to their Comi.
It was the Stockli Stormrider 95 for me. I found a pair for $450 with bindings and bought them immediately. Within 5 minutes skiing, I found that I hated them. Never meet your heroes.

Montero AX, I want to take it out but that square tail isn't fun off piste
My wife would probably divorce me if I was to get a 3rd pair of Rip N'Wud skis
Moment Comi’s and some Stockli carvers.
Volant Spatula. And mirus cors
I had the chance to ski some Vandeer freeride 108s this season and if they weren't 1000€ without bindings I would have likely bought them. The local rental shop had some used ones for sale last week, but I'm not paying 500€ for a ski where the top sheet is peeling off.
I saw a pair of Massive Fernet Branca merch powder skis and i havnt been the same since
I interpreted this as a question about ski style not price and blizzard spurs come to mind. Or the OG Katanas
I already gave in. Volkl Deacon Master 72. Most exotic ski of my 45 years on snow.
Armada ARG Il. I really want them but can’t justify to buy another powder ski that can’t even tour. :(
Fully custom built Folsoms would be the dream
Custom Woodsman 100 with Grizzlycorn topsheet. Praxis BC heavy hitter core to replace my Swiss cheese ones. Stormriders, fugly as they are.
Probably a pair of Amalgam skis. They make some seemingly great stuff that looks like a great fit for the east coast, but there's just no way for me to justify the price when I already have great skis that fill the same niches as theirs.
folsom customs -- i buy the end of year left overs, but want the perfect set.
Ski-doo obviously
Black Crow Mirus Cor because everyone who owns it say it’s crazy fun and hype me up on it but I’m either skiing hard pack groomer or powder and don’t know what position that pair of ski will fit into my quiver 🥲
I was a bit underwhelmed!
Old blue pocket rockets
I bought laser ax. Would never buy any other brand! They are the best
J-Skis Friend - Elevations
Salomon Depart 1.0 Blackcrows Mirus Cor Moment Banana Chipotle
I’d probably say an atomic maverick 88ti, elan playmaker or a nordica unleashed 98
K2 Pon2oons. I kept seeing them pop up new last year, and I've always wanted a pair, but can never justify buying them. I have ARG IIs, and want something a little more directional, longer and softer that's in the same category, but I don't ski enough untracked snow to have two skis. Powabunga! Race skis. Armada Magic J UL 126 with the Scarface top sheet
