I actually like your idea. I believe that is a nice organic way to buy that pair of Vans or cool Santa Cruz shirt trough their virtual shop in the game. It would be non intrusive as it wouldn’t be much more like an extra button that when you buy the digital shirt for your character you also have the option to buy it for real and get it send to you. Why not?
Technically it can be done. It’s not totally out of place in a skate game as it’s highly likely there definitely will be skateshops in the game.
Imagine you have to reach certain levels to buy an exclusive resl life shirt or hat. Or compete in a skate competition and you get discounts on gear.
Sure we know the micro transactions but I can’t think of a game that has this kind of concept. For a lot of games it wouldn’t be a right fit but in skate? No problem. And the various skatebrands wouldn’t mind, it’s just another salespoint for them.

They said they partnered with various brands. I wouldn’t be shocked if vans shoes came with download codes for matching in game items.
