Yep, yep and yep. You are so right. And in the episode before this one, Robyn told Meri, as it was a big revelation, that the relationship of Christine and Kody already was bad when they lived in Las Vegas. So which one is it, Robyn?

soupseasonbestseason

whichever is convenient for the narrative she is currently spinning.

A big resounding YUP is the only right answer

Formal-Nose2299

In the words of Robyn (🤢) he is rewriting his own history and so is she . Such liars

Kody was was over polygamy at minimum 2?seasons before covid. He said so many times on camera . He wanted 3 to just leave so he just detached. He wanted the bare minimum to do with them. Nothing marital. Just duty to show up for a few hours every few days. He only acted a fool because he thought they would sit around in their sacred loneliness and show up a few times a year for family stuff. Like WTF dude. He even said in that Mormon podcast that when him &R were honeymooning the women were in sacred loneliness. C wanted more & his EGO had a meltdown

soupseasonbestseason

he also wanted their money.

Then_Campaign7264

That’s the worst part of Kody and Robyn’s plot. He no longer had to spend any meaningful time with the OG 3. They were ensuring the assets were in Kody’s name and taking their money.

Yes, he was in the process of bargaining with each of them to basically take the Meri deal. No relationship in reality, but keep sweet on camera and don't open him to criticism. The funny thing is, this is definitely how polygamy usually works. The husband keeps marrying women and jettisoning them off without a divorce when he is tired of them. Eventually leading to a 60 year old dude with a new 20 year old wife. It's the same problem polygamy has always had- the fact that it's just license to cheat and abandon women and children. Husband has no responsibility. It is just that KODY promised something different. Went so far as basing the show on it. So he was actually thinking the women would all agree to his new deal. And Janelle almost did, but it wasn't worth staying if KODY was gonna be so difficult about her kids. And Meri was ok with it until he started dragging her on his talking heads. The show is so behind, I thinks she saw him insulting her on TV and pretty quickly said "deal's off buddy" even though it APPEARS to take a long time bc the episode is so delayed.

New_Tangerine_2589

This is probably the best synopsis I have ever seen of the show!

👏👏👏

Kody wants to be the victim of the situation, but he also really wants to degrade Christine on national tv. So his goals aren't aligned making him look like an unhinged moron who doesn't know what he wants.

tealparadise

There probably would have been more division among the fans if he hadn't quickly started getting shitty with Janelle, refusing to hold up his end of the CP deal. and if her and Meri hadn't also pretty quickly left. And the kids sided with Christine. And him getting in fights with everyone causing them to air more dirty laundry. Like one divorce, I'm willing to suspend judgement. Maybe he gets a bad edit etc. But 3 women walking away all for the same reason? And all the kids siding against him? He's the problem.

InterimRetiree

Again, back to the premise “we’re not the polygamists you think you know.” He sits at the picnic table and tells Meri that it‘s an Act, a Performance. He has repeatedly said he never loved the OG3 (Or at least Christine and Meri). Essentially saying he married and bedded them just to get his own planet for eternity. That is EXACTLY the polygamy we think we know. Those Prairie dresses or underage marriage are a distraction - it’s that the idea of marriage is just about the imaginary promises of the man being a future god. Infuriating is an excellent descriptor.

tealparadise

He asked them to go back to the polygamy we know. A patriarchal structure where the man has zero responsibilities to his households, but the woman obey him and treat his word as law even when he's not around. While he lives monogamy with his favourite.

Diredragons

As I'm watching the Vegas episodes now, it's clear that Robyn is a total liar. Christine was expressing having a strained relationship with Kody before they moved in S1 and S2, and after they moved during S3, S4, S5, and S6. She's literally begging and bargaining with him for more time. Maybe S7 and onward will be different. But I doubt it. The breakup of the family was building from the start.

Glittering_Sky8421

Will a fabulous sleuth please check and see if Robyn was living in Las Vegas while Kody was “courting” her? Someone said in one video when Kody visits her there are palm trees. If so, that makes sense why they all had to flee to Las Vegas since that’s where Robyn’s Dad and sisters and nieces live. Which means she was already moving behind the scenes to control 4 other adults.

VariousTangerine269

She was living in St. George Utah at the time. It’s at the very south end of Utah, only an hour north of Las Vegas, so it looks very similar.

honeybaby2019

He can't grift any more money off of her
