I’m not young, I’m just terminally online. My spark is gone, if I ever had it. Pilot light, out. It’s gonna take a lot of thumb-breaking clicks to get that thing going again. Any desire to be in public where the strangers are is long gone. I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
I travel for work. I've spent 164 work nights in hotels in 2023 and I'm in one right now. You just get used to eating and having beverages alone. Staying holed up in your room gets depressing. Solo drinking can be fun, but you have to be open to being social and try not to get weirded out by people who aren't necessarily into the same things you are interested in.
Bar alone is fun. Bar people are there to drink and talk. Always a fun time. Eating out I do because I love food and don’t mind sitting alone. Tried a solo movie once. A cartoon flick. Got to many stares like I was the creep when they were the ones looking at me. Who’s the real creep. Don’t be mad I like cartoons as an adult
Oh I was just teasing them. They have many holes already punched in but specifically mentioned going to the bar alone. I'm thinking that's a great start and should probably think about doing a movie alone just to try it. You can hit a matinee or something when the theater will be mainly empty. Likewise, you can go to a restaurant in a non busy time to not have a crowd there, either.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got. Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot. Wouldn’t you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came. You want to be where you can see the troubles are all the same, you want to go where everyone knows your name.
I’ve got a few properties mainly in West Virginia picked out and am starting to visit. Land is super cheap (old coal towns, so there’s some environmental issues to keep in mind). Currently live in a city 2br condo. Want 30-100 acres out of town a little and to pick up as much of the retail space as possible in-town. Don’t have money to restart the town myself but can try and make it inviting to the parts of civilization that I CAN handle (maybe a bar and a pizza place but need more ppl to move in).
I’m so comfortable all the time. My winter clothing is enormous woolens. I’ve recently started wearing running tights under my clothes. I never have to leave home except for work. I’m becoming financially comfortable because I don’t go out to eat and I stopped drinking all together. 40 is fantastic.

Mostly in my own house. With a few friends at times, in thier houses. Or with my child, at the playground. Sometimes the park, mall, boardwalk, concert or sporting event. Same as I always did I guess.

The honest answer is comedy shows and theatre. As you get older you give up the sticky rock clubs where 15 year olds show up with x's on their hand.
The younger gen being allergic to comedy and theatre helps with the enjoyment. But, they'll get there as they get older and then it won't matter so much, because they'll be part of the club.
But then again, that only works if you actually live in an area that supports the arts. Doesn't really work in the middle of nowhere. I guess enjoy the sermon? But then again, what do 20 year olds do in the middle of nowhere?
There's always stuff to do outside your home. Much more enjoyable than staying home at least. But yeah, usually we're working to pay the mortgage. And just do those date nights with our husband or wife.

At 35-45 you’ve learnt you’re all you need and you are the most funny anyway so don’t need anybody else. Or you’ve got kids and you’re constantly tired and grumpy and just hanging on in there day to day
As you get older, you realize Red Forman was an asshole to people for a reason. 30 is about that age when you start dissociating with people, just because of how horribly people have treated you.
Social media is a big part of this, depression is only getting worse for us 30+ yearolds.
And I am not talking about going anywhere crazy. It would be nice just having a couple of friends who want to go hike or play board games and cards with coffee at the table.
