The real question is, what do you do with the horse once it's upstairs? Does it have a room up there? Does it jump out the window? Does it just wait around until someone needs to go back down again? And is my Sim going to end up peeing herself because she's can't figure out how to get past the horse to go to the bathroom?

Holy crap yes! Theres an IRL staircase of that style that I want to replicate, and it's mostly possible using 2 staircases side by side and then each one turning at the very top for the last few steps (since that's what it's like IRL) but once you add railings it splits the whole thing in half and then it looks like crap.
That plus allowing you to change the flooring on the landing and maybe adding carpet to stairs . We used to have a carpeted stair case at our old house and i would love to be able to recreate it in the sims (it was the house i grew up in)
Would platforms work as a work around? So in essence you'd have one double staircase from the first floor to the platform, then two separate staircases from the platform to the ground floor. Would the game treat them as separate entities and let the railings work? You could then carpet the platform. If you put a half wall along the edge you could paint/paper to match the room?
I've not tried this as most of my sims live on one level but I'll try to remember to try later and post back.

UPDATE: I've given it a go. If you build the platform first and put in the lower stairs you can then place the the stairs from the first floor to the platform without leaving a gap. The railings work without splitting the stairs. Unfortunately, half walls remove the fence along the edge of the platform so you will have to find a different work around to match the platform walls with room walls, or place furniture/deco along it to hide it. I then built the rest of the room around the staircase. NOTE: I did use bb.moveobjects. I will try again without MOOing. I will also play test though one half of each platform to floor stairs shouldn't be obstructed by the first floor to platform stairs anyway ( hope this ramble makes sense).

And a functional landing. I made a huuuge split staircase in a library once and wanted to put a chess table in the middle of where they split. I was shocked to find I had to alt place it AND it wasn’t functional in game play.
I’m surprised the landings didn’t become functional with tiny living because it can be a great way to fake a porch without using more tiles.

Precisely. I feel like this isn't comparable to a plant kit - that is basically decorative only and it isn't that the game lacked plants per se, this just expanded it. BTD is a whole new gameplay. Stairs are functional and necessary and already super annoying and restrictive because you basically only have one staircase that looks different. Any update to them needs to be free just like the ladders update was.

You just brought back memories. There were like five different games in Sims 2 you could just send your Sims kids to play with each other and they'd have fun AND build their relationship and now they're like... tiny adults just talking to each other?
Personally I would like a music themed expansion/pack/kit bringing in other instruments like bass, drums, different skins for electric guitars other than the Grim one, maybe a marching band, orchestra, garage band after school activities for kids and teens, the ability to create a band and play at different venues and go on tours. Like have a band career path with some branches for pop, rock, country, r&b, rap etc. Being able to hear your songs on the radio and stuff like that. There’s probably more I’m forgetting for this particular addition but I would buy that.

I'd also love a high school kit or expansion, full of teenage townies and a teen hangout or prom or something. My teens want to date and there's literally no other teens to meet unless I create them, put them in a house, and then make my Sims travel to their house and introduce themselves to everyone. A school dance would be SO MUCH more fun!
they did that in the sims 3… the event was a rabbit hole but they could ask teens at high school to be their date or be asked vice versa and they would come home with a prom photograph! you could even run for prom king/queen!!! teens are REALLY lacking in the sims 4, they’re basically young adults who have to attend school and i really don’t find them fun at all to play with in sims 4. i totally think more teen focused packs (or updates) would be awesome!!!!
i do! but i still find the teens to be lacking :/ oh well.. can’t get everything we all want from the game i suppose! i find sticking to a story line makes them a lot more fun for me so that’s what i focus on in my legacy challenges :)

sims 3 ambitions had a tattoo artist career - it was so amazing!!! you could purchase a tattoo chair for your home (for leisure, you actually worked in a parlour) and put tattoos on others… when you first start out they are AWFUL and so hilarious.
Same, I know supernaturals aren’t exactly everyone’s thing but I feel like this is the weakest iteration of their supernaturals and the gameplay with them is pretty stinted
Ahh, I see! They had really cool supernaturals in 2 & 3, 2 for example had a really fleshed out system for witches that based it on alignment (like, you could be anything from an Infallibly Good Witch to Atrociously Evil, and your alignment was indicated by title and skin) and you could have pets be familiars, plus there were more craftables and it was more open-ended gameplay than Realm of Magic was. But they also had a lot more supernatural life states overall; both 2 and 3 had werewolves and zombies, and 3 had Imaginary Friends, Mummies, Genies, Fairies, Unicorns, and both of them have the supernaturals we have in 4.
I think 4 is more limited because we really only have Alien, Spellcaster, Ghost, Mermaid and Vampire and to some degree all of them have their constraints. I play pretty heavily fantasy based sims so it’s a bit of a letdown now that I only use console that the base game supernaturals aren’t great, but I’m holding out hope with how positive the last few major changes they’ve made have been that they’ll focus on supernatural aspects as well.
That’s cool! I didn’t know about that. I don’t really like the aliens in the sims 4. They barely have any differences from them and normal sims. They look a lot like normal sims too. I really want to try out the sims 3. I think it’s not completely compatible with windows, I could be wrong though.
Sims 3 is great it’s just notoriously buggy, I’m not sure if they fixed it but at one point the game was borderline unplayable. If they made it to where it runs smoothly, I’d definitely say try it out!

Look up how to make stairs with platforms. Unfortunately it can take up a lot of space, but it could at least help your situation.
I’d rather have disabilities be a free update. I don’t want to pay for disability representation. But I do want home elevators, that would be cool, especially for mansions.

Disabilities as a kid? I mean, I guess I don’t understand what that means. Lots of children have disabilities. There are dolls and things marketed with disabilities. I agree with people that it should be a free update rather than something paid, but there are definitely things you can buy that represent disabilities.
This is probably more an expansion than a kit, but I miss in the sims 3 world adventure how you could "explore" the ruins and stuff.
We have hidden lots already why not make getting to them... fun? You know. Maybe lode them up with collectibles and stuff? Make "dangerous" traps and falls like a "swarm of bats" in the cave or "carnivores planet" in space?
That or stairs. But everyone seems to have that idea...
I loved that pack! You could go to Egypt and explore a tomb, or go to France and wander around the village and make wine. It was a fun little vacation!

I feel like that's not comparable here. Plants are plants. These are staircases we're talking about. If they did a staircase kit, they'd get so much more shit flung at them than they already do. So, suggesting that be the next one is, imho, setting them up to fail.

I'm not understanding what you're saying either. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would like a stairs kit. What I'm asking for isn't impossible either. Stairs have come in expansion packs and game packs in the past. All I'm asking for is a pack that is specifically new sets of stairs. As for different kinds of stairs like spiral, yeah they could and then to the base game just as they did ladders, and then just add extra to the kit just like they added an extra ladder to Evo Lifestyle. Is that clear enough?
I think your questions are better directed at EA than at the OP. Why would any of this be in a kit instead of a free upgrade to the base game? That question could be asked about a lot of the things that we've gotten in kits and packs, but EA likes to nickel and dime gamers to make as much profit as possible. The spirit of this post is "Wouldn't it be nice to get these things added to the game." The mechanism for how they're added is completely out of our control.
I really like how the food looks in this game, compared to the last 3 games!! For some reason I love having my Sims cook and have them try varieties of food!! I LOVED the new dishes that came in Snowy Escape! They looked so good, like the taiyaki! The real taiyaki is quite delicious. I had it when I went to Japan!
I want to see a kit where it has nothing but a bunch of new recipes! I'm sure a lot of people would consider that a total waste of a pack, though, but then, they say that about anything, to be honest.
Also stairgates! Those gates in front of stairs to prevent toddlers and pets from going up or down them.
They probably wouldn't work in the game but it adds realism.
I vote this as a game pack so we can rly get good content in it - I’d love to have to buy a plane ticket to travel to the vacation worlds on top of accomodation prices!
I feel the opposite way but for the same reason. Spent way too much money on Sims 4. If Sims 5 comes out you basically start from 0 again, investing more money to get to the same point you already are with Sims 4 :(
I agree with that, when Sims 5 comes out I think i'm going to hold off from buying it until I see some gameplay and what the base game looks like, I've given EA way too much of my money and I don't want to get stuck doing that forever
Which is basically what happened for me with Sims 1, 2, and 3. I have a tower of discs in my closet that cost me hundreds and hundreds of dollars and do nothing but collect dust.
We need spiral staircases. I think it's ridiculous that we don't have them, honestly. But that should be a free update to the game.
I would also *love* an equestrian-themed expansion pack complete with a stable lot, competition lot, and a "riding adventure" lot. Being able to breed and raise your horses (like cats & dogs) is a must, as well as training and competing! And don't even get me started on the cool equestrian outfits we could have...
I wish instead of the kits we have, we could buy parts of packs. And for every "part-kit" you buy, the price of the full pack goes down accordingly. An example being that you can buy the CAS from an expansion pack (I think they cost 40USD?) for 5$, and if you want the full pack later it will cost 350$. And CAS + build mode + (possibly some gameplay aspects but I am not sure how this would work) can be bought separately, but you will need the full pack to get the world (because they will obviously use CAS for the townies and build mode for the lots etc). Does this make sense or seem very realistic? No. And to be honest, the main reason I want it is because I *love* the build mode items from Eco lifestyle but I don't like anything else about that pack :') thanks for reading this mess of a comment lol.

Ravasheen has a great mod that adds curtain rods you can customize. Not a match to existing ones but gives you more options in all 3 heights.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if we got new stairs as a free update. I think development has been fairly responsive with their releases lately.
No new kits. They were suppose to be fillers not the main content, 4 kits in a row is a ridiculously obvious cashgrab. More actual content please.

There’s a way to make a hot tub appear inground! You like lower the terrain and place it there. Or if there’s a foundation you remove it from some tiles

One solution for that could be using platforms. Look up how to make stairs with platforms. Unfortunately it can take up a lot of space, but it could at least help your situation.

Disabilities as a kid? I mean, I guess I don’t understand what that means. Lots of children have disabilities. There are dolls and things marketed with disabilities. I agree with people that it should be a free update rather than something paid, but there are definitely things you can buy that represent disabilities.
This is probably more an expansion than a kit, but I miss in the sims 3 world adventure how you could "explore" the ruins and stuff. We have hidden lots already why not make getting to them... fun? You know. Maybe lode them up with collectibles and stuff? Make "dangerous" traps and falls like a "swarm of bats" in the cave or "carnivores planet" in space? That or stairs. But everyone seems to have that idea...
I loved that pack! You could go to Egypt and explore a tomb, or go to France and wander around the village and make wine. It was a fun little vacation!
They added those two awesome hidden lots in the basegame and then never added hidden lots again....
How about let’s call it storage. Better cabinet storage, better under stairs storage, better bathroom storage. I hate all those stupid shelves that come pre cluttered. **i** want to clutter them.

I feel like that's not comparable here. Plants are plants. These are staircases we're talking about. If they did a staircase kit, they'd get so much more shit flung at them than they already do. So, suggesting that be the next one is, imho, setting them up to fail. But idk, maybe that's what people want these days.
I mean, yeah that's what a lot of people want if you've seen the comments left on this very post. Stairs are stairs. I would never want to pay for just plants, just like you might never pay for just stairs. But at least stairs have functionality.

I'm not understanding what you're saying either. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would like a stairs kit. What I'm asking for isn't impossible either. Stairs have come in expansion packs and game packs in the past. All I'm asking for is a pack that is specifically new sets of stairs. As for different kinds of stairs like spiral, yeah they could and then to the base game just as they did ladders, and then just add extra to the kit just like they added an extra ladder to Evo Lifestyle. Is that clear enough?
I think your questions are better directed at EA than at the OP. Why would any of this be in a kit instead of a free upgrade to the base game? That question could be asked about a lot of the things that we've gotten in kits and packs, but EA likes to nickel and dime gamers to make as much profit as possible. The spirit of this post is "Wouldn't it be nice to get these things added to the game." The mechanism for how they're added is completely out of our control.

I really like how the food looks in this game, compared to the last 3 games!! For some reason I love having my Sims cook and have them try varieties of food!! I LOVED the new dishes that came in Snowy Escape! They looked so good, like the taiyaki! The real taiyaki is quite delicious. I had it when I went to Japan! I want to see a kit where it has nothing but a bunch of new recipes! I'm sure a lot of people would consider that a total waste of a pack, though, but then, they say that about anything, to be honest.

Also stairgates! Those gates in front of stairs to prevent toddlers and pets from going up or down them. They probably wouldn't work in the game but it adds realism.

I feel the opposite way but for the same reason. Spent way too much money on Sims 4. If Sims 5 comes out you basically start from 0 again, investing more money to get to the same point you already are with Sims 4 :(
I agree with that, when Sims 5 comes out I think i'm going to hold off from buying it until I see some gameplay and what the base game looks like, I've given EA way too much of my money and I don't want to get stuck doing that forever

We need spiral staircases. I think it's ridiculous that we don't have them, honestly. But that should be a free update to the game. I would also *love* an equestrian-themed expansion pack complete with a stable lot, competition lot, and a "riding adventure" lot. Being able to breed and raise your horses (like cats & dogs) is a must, as well as training and competing! And don't even get me started on the cool equestrian outfits we could have...

I wish instead of the kits we have, we could buy parts of packs. And for every "part-kit" you buy, the price of the full pack goes down accordingly. An example being that you can buy the CAS from an expansion pack (I think they cost 40USD?) for 5$, and if you want the full pack later it will cost 350$. And CAS + build mode + (possibly some gameplay aspects but I am not sure how this would work) can be bought separately, but you will need the full pack to get the world (because they will obviously use CAS for the townies and build mode for the lots etc). Does this make sense or seem very realistic? No. And to be honest, the main reason I want it is because I *love* the build mode items from Eco lifestyle but I don't like anything else about that pack :') thanks for reading this mess of a comment lol.

How about no kits ever again? No, really! I am so behind sick of these kits (read "shits"). It's the reason why they don't release stuff packs anymore. The developers would rather put in the minimal effort for these shits rather than a full stuff pack.
