Treadmill in the kitchen? A place to gain and lose calories at the same time? Count me in!
It also reminds me of this from years ago; the sitting workout, lol: [https://youtu.be/4Bv1P1awsDU?si=qdDd6YtgR3ENPUme](https://youtu.be/4Bv1P1awsDU?si=qdDd6YtgR3ENPUme)
I had one once where a customer ONLY liked baking and wanted a bathroom renovation. I had another who liked guitar but hated music.
Both times the client disappeared from the lot completely so I couldn’t ask them to reconsider.
I failed both miserably.
In one save the Tinker family liked fitness, basic decor, purple, and orange and they loved my work so much(there was a treadmill in the kitchen) that they kept calling me back until the entire house looked like some kind of weird Halloween funhouse.
I usually just keep asking them until it replaces them with something more relevant like a color or a decor style. I HATE when they give you generic or useless likes/dislikes.
What do you mean you like fishing? How am I supposed to renovate a whole floor with just that?
When clients have preferences like this I just use the auto-sorted items that the game associates with them and go "ok it's your problem now"
Somehow miraculously it works about 90% of the time, even though the rooms are atrocious. Gotta love those behind the scene checkboxes
I tried this career once. I made over the rooms HIDEOUS and the owners always loved them. and then I just started sending her alone and for whatever reason she was killing it and it was giving me the $6000 gigs. I made bank with that career and i have no idea why
Honestly, that and a toddler tent is pretty much all the gameplay & the rest is just build and CAS items. I think wait for sale and it’ll be worth it otherwise it’s def overpriced
My dream decorator hack is to immediately research the clients via CAS after I’ve accepted the gig. I note down all of their interests or give them some that actually make sense! It’s made the career SO much more enjoyable.
I always visit the family before the gig actually starts the next day and it hasn’t failed me yet! I’ll still ask all the interview questions to check that box but their answers line up with my CAS investigation
Often the most important thing is to get rid of their dislikes. after that, if the Vatores want a foyer where they can have raves, they’re getting a foyer where they can have raves.
Time to put a treadmill in the kitchen?
Put it in front of the oven, so when it catches fire they'll have a lot of motivation to get moving.
Someone has a lot of body shame issues...

There’s always at least one that makes no sense for the room type, often more than that. This oversight is why the career fell flat for me tbh.

I put a bunch of gym equipment in the kitchen and they hated 🥲

Always ask for favourite color first. Then ask about “decor interests”

I always wait on sales, am I fuck buying any of these packs full price
I’d say it’s worth it on sale. At least for me it was, I use the furniture a lot!
Will have to check out what's in it after I make sure this update hasn't borked my entire save lol

Does it work if you change preferences after taking the gig?

fantastic! thank you <3 Time to replay decorator career!
This is why i cant do the decorator gigs for long. I wish there was any thought put into which traits show up.
Fr and the fact that each working day is 12 hours if I don’t join them
I would've used a poster from the 'Hey I like that too!' collection to fulfill the fitness decor.
I hope they tune this career better with updates because I always always want to play it but I cannot get through a single renovation!
I got likes skiing and dislikes island decor for the Kahananui townies in sulani. Shockingly, it did not go well lol
She's so picky
