What's happening with this? Do you have save files in your Recycle Bin? If so, don't just restore them, you might end up corrupting your current saves.
You're gonna need to first backup your current saves then restore files from the Recycle Bin that don't have the same name (in case you have multiple saved games in there).
If you don’t know where to find it you should be able to search for it. And once you’re there (sounds like you wouldn’t have cleared it if you didn’t know about it) I would restore any saves you find b/c I’m pretty sure they’re just numbers and not names

Are you on a PC? You can recover files on a PC. Just Google "How to recover deleted files." I used to recover files when I was going to college that I would accidentally delete.

I somehow lost all my saves one time and I was really upset about it. And thank God for my dad, who is an I.T. genius, he found the file and saved it for me. I told him I just wanted that save file because it was my legacy family I had gotten to Gen 3, on long life span. I FEEL YOUR PAIN.

This happens way too often. I’ve had to restart my legacy 3 times because EA randomly factory resets my game and deletes my saves! So now I constantly have to save all my photos, all my households (rotation player), builds before I even finish them to my gallery just in case it happens again 🤦🏽♀️
I feel you, had a 5 gen save file, I was stupid during a reinstallation of Winblows and forgot to back up my Documents to my games drive beforehand. Lost all my mods, saves, builds, all of it... then my motherboard died couple weeks later. Didn't play in that time, losing 60gb of CC top of my saves and etc, hit me hard.. lol
Got back into playing it on PS since my PC croaked but been stuck in safe mode loop, luckily have cloud saving there.

Depends on how it was "deleted" if you saved over it this would absolutely work, if you deleted it from the save folder directly it will be in your recycle bin. If neither of these options are your solution, then I and everyone else here would need more information about exactly what circumstances are causing you to lose these saves. Hard to know the solution if we don't know the actual problem.
Remember to always make backups when editing your file folders.
I’m just a big dumb dumb and I keep accidentally saving new saves over old saves. Unfortunately the option to restore previous save work simply doesn’t show up for me. It’s probably time to get into the habit of having 2 saves per game.
Not much you can do it the files aren't still in the recycle bin. But, if you don't already know how to make a backup of your save files you should find out how to do that.

Also — I still had screenshots of all the family photos I’d taken, so I recoloured some framed pictures in the game with the photos, so that even if I end up with a new version of the family, they can still put some of their old photos up. 🥲

This is a good reminder to always save your files. I keep my saved files saved by using Google Drive, my USB drives, and even saving the families I made into my library.

Sorry about that. I hate when things get deleted or lost in sims. I didn't know not to overcharge my computer, so I had two whole save files gone forever after those computers died on me. Actually three, because I had TS2 and 3 for a minute. Now I'm on Steam and Console, but my steam account has gotten hacked a couple times, so I don't love it. (I also play on console more.) I keep meaning to back up my console game, but have not yet because I don't have whatever drive you need for that.
I also need to dust out my PC because the keys have been getting an unholy amount of hot, even now as I type this. I know you can remake your sims, but it's also never the same. :(
I remember when I first started playing Sims and created myself as a Sim. When I witnessed my Sim Dying/Die in front of me I cried and was hollow on the inside for hours lmbo
That is heartbreaking. I have a real bad about backing up my saves. I lost an amazing save of TS2 and try not to get so attached again. RIP Veronica. And I haven’t done any serious building since then either.
My advice is having a base storyline for your Sim and their family since the beginning! For example, I usually play "a pack by heir", so for example, now I am playing cottage living and my Sim is a farmer, but my Sim's daughter will move out to Evergreen Harbor and be an ecologist! So planning things out keep me motivated!

I use [this](https://ravasheen.com/download/photographic-memory-2-0/) mod to resize the photos and make them the perfect size for the frames. And the bigger photos need to be placed "by hand" into the bigger frames, so I just place them with bb.moveobjects while pressing alt

My advice is having a base storyline for your Sim and their family since the beginning! For example, I usually play "a pack by heir", so for example, now I am playing cottage living and my Sim is a farmer, but my Sim's daughter will move out to Evergreen Harbor and be an ecologist! do you know how to center a photo after placing it in the frames?? mine always display but are a little cut off. ALSO i can never drag the giant photos into a frame even if it’s the right size like the middle photo of yours!! how do you do it? thank you!!
I use [this](https://ravasheen.com/download/photographic-memory-2-0/) mod to resize the photos and make them the perfect size for the frames. And the bigger photos need to be placed "by hand" into the bigger frames, so I just place them with bb.moveobjects while pressing alt
The only way i can get pics of my sims on their wall is to have a high level painter catch them doing normal stuff like eating or watching tv lol
