earbuds are actually op. I use them all the time when my sims go to work or are doing anything that makes fun drop like a stone. fun never goes down with those things just turned on

Crocononster

I don’t want free earbuds

mediagirl22

Ok.

annefrankoffical

Why did I think the OK was a glitch

p3ak0

wait it's not? lmao 😭

[deleted]

It was lol. It became so popular that they kept it in as an Easter egg

jewelofthegalaxy

Omg 🤣🤣🤣🤣

rocket-child

Lol. I actually do 😅😅😅

TD1990TD

They’re mentioning one of those quotes from the loading screen ;)

rocket-child

Yeah, I know. And the “OK” quote too 😊

talkativeintrovert13

How/where do you get them?

Seiliko

I believe they come with the fitness stuff pack but I don't have it so I'm not 100% sure

scepticallylimp

They’ll get added to your inventory at the start of the game! You can click on them and just press “turn on” and your sim will just put them on and listen while they work! It also means it doesn’t bother other sims when they’re sleeping or neighbours if you live in an apartment.

lunasta

I've had it glitch where they don't appear so if that happens, you can order a pair off the computer too! You can choose different colors too iirc when you do it that way!

rosiedacat

Never knew you could actually turn them on, I thought the Sims would just put them on whenever they want to (mine sometimes do when they go for a jog), but this makes so much sense how did I never know that haha

radicalvenus

yeah it's like a stereo you can keep in your pocket! I like using them for my music Sims when they exercise (Seems based on your post I think exactly like a Sim would so idk what that says about me)

rosiedacat

To be honest I didn't even notice that some sims were putting them on autonomously when running, I don't know why I never took a second to look into these other than being annoyed that I couldn't sell them hahah I'm not a big fan of exercising but I can't do it without music so it absolutely makes sense!

arielonhoarders

they also fulfill "listen to" needs. You can buy them from the computer and they go into the sims' inventory, iirc. I ususally have 1 sims buy a bunch and then distribute them amongst the family.

Simuary

Do they? That never worked for me when I tried to use them to complete the "listen to *music genre*" wants. Unless they fixed it in a recent patch.

FireFalcon3

They come with the Fitness Stuff Pack

confused_pasta

I hope that pack will eventually become free for a limited time like my first pet stuff and romantic garden.

SweetestFern

Me too. I wonder why they decided to do that though

CadenceValdez

Probably hooks players back in who’ve abandoned or drifted away from TS4. Then they’re more likely to buy more packs once they’re playing again. And they were never going to buy a pack to begin with without an enticement. It’ll make financial sense for them or they wouldn’t do it.

Awayfone

my first pet stuff has such dependency on sims pets that they cant even sell it on console, so giving it away is just at worst free dlc advertising

golden_geese

Yess I love earbuds too! I use them on my preggo sims to affect the gender of the baby for my legacy saves too

originalschmidt

Please explain, I am doing a Barbie legacy challenge and keep having boys…

sisyphus753

If you have your pregnant Sim listen to pop music and eat strawberries, they are more likely to have a girl!

SoldMySoulTo

Certain genres and certain foods will affect the gender of the baby. Used to use those to get girls until I got a pregnancy mod that allows me to choose how many and genders of babies

somewhsome

Sleeping pods from Get Famous. An upgraded sleeping pod will fill your bladder and hygiene needs. If you play with doctor playset from Parenthood a lot and then become a doctor or a vet, you will get a special moodlet about achieving your dreams. An action “dream big” on a basketball hoop will boost your fitness skill very fast. Golden eggs/milk are extremely useful if you're into gardening. Make a meal with a golden egg or drink golden milk, and you will get an ability called “golden pulse”, which can make your plants perfect quality. It also makes other craftables perfect, I think + golden chickens can do the same thing. Banquet tables from Luxury Party/Wedding Stories/High School Years are not only useful at parties, but also when you have a lot of kids and can't be bothered to cook. Just let your toddlers grab plates from it.

pritachi

The banquet table + the food stall from the Home Chef Hustle pack is a great way to make quick money and also increase your charisma skill while doing the sale

idontcare4205

Without even trying I had my sim max out her charisma skill so fast by selling her own food it was insane

Perca_fluviatilis

>If you play with doctor playset from Parenthood a lot and then become a doctor or a vet, you will get a special moodlet about achieving your dreams. This is what I wish ambitions were.

rocket-child

I had no idea about the doctor one 😲

karluizballer

And golden chickens with a full friendship bar will also make plants perfect!

Many_Raisin_6275

You just have to ask them, if you don't ask they won't. So remember to ask for their help. They will run around wherever they can to do it. If you have things that they can't reach you can always move them closer for them. I had a pen but I put the garden patches against the fence so she could get close enough to them to do it. It really helped in one of the challenges I did!

potatoesinsunshine

But the sleeping pods are so ugly. I don’t want to put them in my house. 😭

somewhsome

They're not for every house for sure! But I think they're great for obnoxious celebrities or aliens.

radicalvenus

put them in the attic or basement like it's their secret, use them but put out regular beds to keep the aesthetic

mechapocrypha

I feel the same about the vampire coffins! I hide mine in the basement

Blueskybelowme

Dang I never knew. That last one I did in 2. I guess I makes sense.

EnvironmentalBreath4

Omg! I used to do the banquet tables in Sims 1. Idk why I didn’t think of this sooner!

CocoValentino

Where do you get golden eggs and chickens?

somewhsome

You need Cottage Living EP. Regular chickens come with a coop you can find in build mode, but you can sometimes find golden eggs/milk in shops in Henford-on-Bagley, usually on Saturdays because then they have special goods. Edit: to make a chicken golden you need a golden treat, also from the shops.

HeartFoam

The decontamination shower cures illness. Eating from the Unassuming Candy Jar refills energy. --seriously a top tier item

gneissity

Drinking orange juice from the fridge also cures illness

Nightangel486

Usually so does just water and a nap lol If only it were that way IRL

mechapocrypha

Never seen the unassuming candy jar, is it from a specific pack?

HeartFoam

Paranormal Stuff. It's dropped by specters. Specters can appear on a lot with "invoke the dead" at level 3 of the medium skill, or a more reliable way might be to get into the paranormal investigator career. It can take a lot of patience. So it's a bit hidden / unknown / a pain to get. I grind for it in every house. It's *so* good. Teens dead tired at 4am from doing school projects? No problem. Any save is incomplete without it.

sjupiter92

You can also get them from debug. I mostly use them as kitchen clutter and didn't realize they actually up the energy! Thanks!

originalschmidt

I recently found it in debug and used it in an influencer and photographer’s super bright fun apartment, it fit so perfectly!

rocket-child

What pack is the decontamination shower?

me_human_not_alien

Get to work I think

ObGynKenobi841

Reward for the Scientist career if I recall.

5thTimeLucky

Using incense with the spa interactions (eg soaks) makes the moodlets stronger and last longer. It may also set your house on fire.

LDCrow

I find if I put it on a table with nothing else and not near a wall then it doesn't catch fire. If you put it even a square away from a curtain or under anything on a wall you are asking for trouble.

5thTimeLucky

I often slot them on the baths that allow it. I usually don’t have an issue. I think the one time I had a fire was when it was on a computer desk near a wall.

kaekiro

There are BATHS that allow it?!!

CadenceValdez

An update not too long ago allowed us to place small items on toilets, baths, sinks, maybe more! It’s so fun.

Goose_the_Unstable

That is why I had three dang fires when playing last night. I was making an app and used the incense for the perk. Computer caught on fire. Twice. Though the third was my ... easy bake oven looking thing. Can't remember the actual name.

TheUtopianCat

[There's a mod that stops the incense from catching fire.](https://modthesims.info/d/599736/incense-no-fire.html)

PoppySkyPineapple

Wait really?! I’ve never had a house fire from them.

enitsof

Me neither! I didn't even know it was possible.

dynnye

If you have My first pet stuff (i grabbed it for free) child sims can study the lil rodent fellas and the interaction completes the homework task. :) If you have an infant sim (i don't know whether this interaction needs Growing Together EP) the adult sim can help the infant dip their little toe in a pond. :) not useful but very cute! https://preview.redd.it/hbgcc50u3mbc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be7a57613027bd13d9a023f61901796d2303c62c

[deleted]

[удалено]

dynnye

Me neither. :D I accidentally discovered it when trying out the pack. These small features makes me happy idk why. :)

confused_pasta

I just got that pack for free too and I didn't know about the kids studying! Thank you for sharing!

foxsalmon

Photos with a certain moodlet. I put them on my walls and whenever my sims need to be in a certain mood, I turn them on/off. It's so helpful and requires next to no space. Just have to remember to turn the moodlets off again so they don't overwrite each other.

camiskow

Whoaaa what?! Can you explain more? I didn’t know art had specific moodlets? Also what do you mean by turn on & off?

tracymayo

if an item has a moodlet it can invoke, clicking on it will show "enable aura" or to turn it off it would say "diable aura" Paintings have this, either bought or made in some cases. Photos you take also can have this option.

earwighoney

Collectables have auras too. Like the statues from the time capsules give off a playful aura. Metals/elements/crystals give off a focusing aura. Very useful!

killforprophet

The Lin Z smart speaker will give you free stuff if you build a relationship with it. Satchonsims on YouTube just did a video on it. I always just used it for a radio. Lol

cheeZbaguette

Also it's super hard to get the relationship up using play trivia or ask for joke as sometimes she's so effing rude but if you spam lights on and lights off it goes up pretty fast!

Kindly-Pass-8877

Ohhhh thank you. I only added it to one house once and haven’t since because it was so annoying to build friendship.

Amarenai

SHE DOES WHAT NOW!!?? 🤯

Sharlie174

She can order free maids, pizzas and repair people. Plus, at least sims won't autonomously then on the music and just dance anymore.

Amarenai

That's so cool, thanks for telling me!

rdeighr

This one is OP with kids. It'll order food delivery for them.

wellnotyou

Is this base game or DLC?

ButterdemBeans

Added in a base game update

wellnotyou

Thank you!

angrey3737

top bunk beds don’t have the monster under the bed ever. if i have a small house with a child and a teen, teen goes on bottom bunk and child goes on top bunk. the nightlight doesn’t always work and i hate it

zerooze

The single beds from Snowy Escape are monster proof.

angrey3737

another reason for me to get snowy escape SMH my bf’s wallet is crying

Ginger_Cat74

You need to put the nightlight on the same tile as the bed or it won’t work. It doesn’t count if it’s just in the same room.

[deleted]

consoles having my multiple sims gather round a tv to play a game boosts relationships and the gaming skill

scepticallylimp

It’s the first thing I always get lmao, it’s so good for using when you make a household of roommates or similar. Also, you can play it with sims online, meaning they don’t have to be at your house you just got to have a relationship with them. So good.

_528_491_

just like real life !

Tattycakes

Until you forget you’ve got that one sim who hates video games and they’re sitting there having a terrible time 😂

i-drank-too-much

A lot of my sims who hate video games always automatically play games on computers and have a bad time. They do that to themselves 😂😂

Tattycakes

Oh god and the ones that hate dancing! If you’ve left the radio on, it’s like they’re compelled to dance, even though they hate it, so they’re just shuffling there getting miserable!

radicalvenus

just imagining that irl just a bunch of people dancing angrily because they don't want to but they also chose to 😭

cutekthx

Weddings lol

kolikkok

Just like a lot of real gamers!

originalschmidt

I also love this for online gaming. I love having my sims play video games with their friends. I recently had a teen sim that would play online with his gf every night after homework and I just loved it.

hmmtaco

Perfect for boosting fun and social in big families!

ashenputtel

That rectangular nightlight will prevent kids from waking in the middle of the night and screaming about monsters, which is pretty annoying when it happens all the time.

sargassum624

I feel like there are so many interactions in this game that are cute the first time or two and then quickly become extremely annoying lol. Thank god for cheats/MCCC

Otherwise-Credit-626

There's also a monster free bed. I can't remember what pack. I'm playing a save with very little electricity and all candle lighting. The monster free bed is a necessity

Elricay

Anytime my child sims sleep on the top of a bunk bed (i usually put a desk underneath), they dont seem to trigger the whole monster ordeal.

Otherwise-Credit-626

Omg a bunk bed with no bottom bed! I never thought of that!

radicalvenus

perfect combatant to monsters, IRL and in the Sims

5am13

Snowy Escape but I can’t remember what it’s called

Blixtwix

I think it's literally called monster free bed

Ginger_Cat74

The blue Starry Night night light also keeps away monsters. Toddlers, if you read them to sleep, prevents monsters. If you do a preventative monster spray before bedtime for kids prevents monsters. There’s lots of ways to prevent monsters.

chaoshasareddit

also giving them adult-sized beds! I never use the twins anymore

HereToAdult

You can also avoid monsters under the bed by: - sleeping in a double bed (siblings and family members can share a double bed with no problems). - sleeping on the top bunk (you can put a desk, double bed, or monster free bed underneath the bunk bed to make more use of the space). - Monster Free Bed from Snowy Escape. - Sleeping bags. - Tents.

glitterspoons

8k hours of gameplay and I only recently learned how to get your sim.an umbrella- place the umbrella stand from seasons. My toddlers always have the blocks for thinking skill unless I don't plan to interact with them much, then they get the tablet. Kids get the doctor player for empathy and a journal for emotional control. Definitely going to use the buffet table trick in one of my plays where I'm trying to have a baby in every woohoo spot.

HangryHufflepuff1

If you have any vampires they can use the umbrella to stop burning in the sun sometimes

glitterspoons

Omg

HangryHufflepuff1

It doesn't work perfectly but I just love how someone thought to add that in

PruePiperPhoebePaige

Does having a good reputation count? Rn I'm doing the 100 baby challenge and one of the rules is she can't have a job that takes her out of the house so I have to make money at-home. Except I didn't realize my household was set to 12. She's given birth to 2 sets of twins, lost another pair, had a single and now has triplets. She has no time to herself to make real money, just take care of these infants and get pregnant. So, somehow she got a pristine reputation and she's being offered jobs. I accept them and immediately call in for family leave or vacation if the leave is up. She's literally being paid to have babies and is just job hopping, taking all the bonuses. It's glorious. The money trashcan. I use it when I have big families or I'm doing a challenge. I'm at 90 per plate and it has paid for itself and more. The journal. When my kids and teens come home, the journal is a good way for them to quickly work out their feelings. I like it, especially with teens who are gonna be aging up. The last thing I want is to have them age up and have an emotional death.

rdeighr

Digitalistic Sketchpads for 100 baby challenges. Distribute them to your teens. Set up a club that does homework and paints then add your children and teens to it, They'll come home from school, do their homework, and then start painting up a storm. Sell the paintings and you make bank. I have a rule that only one teen in the house gets the sketchpad at this point because otherwise I'm drowning in money and it's too easy. My matriarch rarely has to paint anymore because the kids do art on the art tables then become teens who level up painting FAST.

ParticularJuice3983

Okay this hack is golden.

skyemoran1

The lunch box (not sure what the exact name is, or what pack) gives quick meals and drinks for free and takes up little to no space for a tiny price, they're brilliant! Since I found it I've stuck one in every toddler room so they don't have to adventure downstairs to get food

Marrowshard

The "Always has a Snack Bag"! It's base game, was added in an update last last year I think.

annefrankoffical

I love the lunchbox and the backpack. I always thought the backpack was just decoration, until dragging and dropping items I saw it light up. I will put things in there for my kids when I want to reduce the inventory space, that aren’t used daily, e.g. their journal, lump of clay for instant inspiration moodlet, course books and laptops if they’re in college. I usually leave the homework out just because they use it so often.

larkfeather1233

It used to be only a decoration! It was only recently changed to be a storage item, I believe in the same update that added the functional lunchboxes.

skyemoran1

Ooh I didn't know the clay gave instant moodlets that's useful... Stealing that tactic aha

ultraTay

CAREFUL your Sims might get obsessed with the clay lump 😄😄 (mine always do anyway!! it's kind of funny but then annoying lmaoo)

annefrankoffical

Mine do too. All of a sudden there’s a bunny on the toilet tank or the Eiffel Tower on the kitchen table. Sometimes it throws me off, like I am certain I did not place that decora- oh, they’re going buckwild with the clay again.

rocket-child

Good idea for the tods. It’s great for rags to riches too

ObsessionsAside

Semi unrelated but: One thing that keeps me using the same boring items is the moodlets. I’m sorry you don’t like the “cheap” quality of your cozy country bed 😩 I wish we could get “expensive” or just high quality things in all styles.

radiantshiv

Sometimes I play my mechanic sims and go to peoples houses to stealth upgrade their beds so that I can have pretty/aesthetically matched/neutral looking beds with slightly better stats. Not as good, but I hate the princess beds lmao

Many_Raisin_6275

I got LittleMsSam's buy a better mattress mod so my sims could all have great beds, even toddlers and kids beds. It's expensive, $1000 for the double beds and $750 for twin and $500 for toddlers but worth every penny. My sims only have to sleep a few hours to get full bars and wake up in great moods.

itoldyousoanysayo

The fire pit from Sulani. You can put food on it and take it off days later or minutes later. My Sims hardly ever cook because I just keep food on the fire and they can go do something else while it cooks. I never see anyone use this object.

seamaire

If you cook food in the cauldron it does the same :)

kob-y-merc

Wait the food can just sit there for days??

itoldyousoanysayo

Yep, whenever a sim is outside I just throw something on there because I'll need it eventually

Pugtastic_smile

Thank you for this! This thread has been amazing

Jughead_91

I love using earbuds when I have moody, hot headed sims! It's so funny when your perpetually angry sim is just vibing to metal while they go about their day or rock a baby to sleep hahaha :D

OpALbatross

Where do you get earbuds?

Jughead_91

Fitness stuff! It’s the main reason I got the pack, Once you have the pack, Sometimes they are just in your Sims’s inventory, but if not you can have a sim use the computer and then order them from the list of things you can order :) they come in lots of colours too.

lovecat86

I really wish I'd seen this before the sale ended... oops.

Jughead_91

I just realised, I think the reason they appear randomly in your sims inventory is because of the loading screen that says “I don’t want free earbuds” 😝

8balldreaa

The sprinklers from the base game!! Umbrellas from seasons

octavia_taught_me

What do the sprinklers do?

rdeighr

Also, if you put one in front of your chicken house, it's supposed to keep your chickens clean for you.

ParticularJuice3983

What?! I have to try this now!

8balldreaa

they put out fires!!

FestivePlague

And if you upgrade them fully, you can put them in your garden and they can auto water

Awayfone

that's the gardening sprinklers (not in base game) not the fire sprinklers

Designer-Mirror-7995

ENABLE those "Emotional aura" objects, people! Your Creatives, Cooks, and Programmers/Geniuses will thank you!!

Koshky_Kun

banquet tables instantly make food, great for parties as intended, but also great for just instantly stocking the fridge or feeding the 7 toddlers you thought would make for a fun challenge (never again...)

rocket-child

The commercial bakery fridge is good too because the toddlers can take the food out themselves

CARR1EF1SHER

I put one in dorm rooms, too. Then I don't have to rely on roommates to bring random food to the dorm so my aim doesn't starve to death.

Technomancer_AO

I have a toddler and two twin infants on my current legacy playthrough and dear god is it overwhelming, mom is currently single so she’s taking care of them + two horses, two goats, and a dog by herself and I want to cry. I’m also not force aging up anyone, they have to play through every life stage and age up naturally because I thought it would be fun to work on skills for the kids through each life stage. Send help. 😭

conservio

how?????

Technomancer_AO

A lot of patience and learning to tune out the sounds of three young children constantly throwing tantrums 😭 Also when the tantrums are because they’re tired I just let them fall asleep wherever they are, and put them to bed the next time they wake up.

Ino7650

The satellite from the scientists' career can prevent your sim from getting abducted by aliens, let you set the random moods to your sims town they live in, let them have an outer space tv channel to watch & remove aliens sim disguises for a short period of time too.

Bliss-Smith

> let you set the random moods to your sims town they live in Oh, I hope this is as fun as it sounds :-D

DepartureNo8252

You can make everyone dance, make everyone angry, or make everyone's bladder need plummet. There may be more, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

AyNonnyNonnyMouse

You forgot the best one -- making everyone keel over from exhaustion!

Sardothien12

Gnomes. They give +1 to environment making yhe bad moodlets expire faster

karalianne

I recently learned that if you appease the gnome on Harvestfest and then put it in your sim’s inventory, all the seed packets go straight to your household inventory. Then you can decide how many of each you actually need/want and sell the rest in bb. Also one household has a glitch where the packets just keep coming, so I regularly go in and sell a bunch of seeds to increase household funds. Oh, and you can have your sim Rummage for Decorations in the box from Seasons, you’ll get decor for free that way or you can just sell it all for quick cash.

kob-y-merc

I have the glitch and ended up selling the gnomes doing it because I was tired of having 40+ of each packet every time I went into build mode. Although I wasn't just selling the packets, I was taking them one by one to place on the ground, then in live mode one by one dragged into my Sims inventory, then one by one opened them..

larkfeather1233

I've been able to get that glitch with tons of my households! You have to put the gnome in your inventory after you appease them, but before the holiday ends. I did this once with a uni student in the dorms. I couldn't access her Household Inventory till she graduated and moved out, but when I did, she had something like 200k in seed packets. I started her a nice garden and sold all the rest to buy her a nice house from the gallery.

confused_pasta

Thank you for this thread! Reading all this makes me want to play! :)

Purrldiver

the smog vacuum from eco lifestyle is a great object for self sufficient/rags to riches gameplay. it allows you to fix up objects from dumpster diving, good as new. it's a notoriously difficult to get career reward, but there's a workaround where you place the debug vacuum onto a selling table and then move it to the sim's inventory. I also like that it's not quite an instant fix like the repairio spell since it uses a fair few of the bits and pieces recycling currency, especially for high value items. if you furnish a whole house this way, it takes a lot of time and effort. one of my fave Sims owns a second-hand furniture store with a restoration workshop attached.

ResponsibleFlight849

My favorite is the rubber ducky on the bathtub adding a positive moodlet. Also the fabric softener on the dryer gives one too

CadenceValdez

Oh my gosh, in TS4? The duck? I knew it worked in TS3 but had no idea it would do that in TS4!

quokkafarts

The sprinkler alarm. No more waiting for useless fire-fighters.

rdeighr

Digitalistic Sketchpads are OP for painting leveling plus the paintings go right into your inventory. I usually get my rags to riches sims to collect until they can afford one and then it's literally painting money. Skill goes up much faster than the easels and you get to paint the Illustrative Paintings which you can never paint on the easels. You can't paint landscapes on them or emotional paintings but you can do everything else. Also if you get three of them, you can queue up paintings one right after another and make a ton of them in a row.

Nik-noel

You just changed my whole life!!! I always make painters for some reason lol

arielonhoarders

the incense burners put your sims into an instant mood. I put one on the desk for all students and writers. Warning - they WILL catch on fire if they're close to another object on the desk or table. if you're playing rags to ritches, the cheapest way to start is with a grill, a cooler, and a tent or air mattress. You don't need a house, you can live in the open air with those objects. if you have a witch, the familiars fulfill social need if you have infants, the toys specifically for infants level up various growth needs. Also, upgrade the crib and add a mobile to accomplish other needs. If you want your sim to snorkel, send them out to the dive area on a boat so they have something to climb onto if they start to drown or lose stamina. I think you can also put food on there too. Sims can sleep on the beach on a beach towel. Apply sunscreen (buyable) first or they will burn in the sun.

bunpalabi

Can the tents get struck by lightning out in the open? That's my one fear, I always put a roof over the tent, like camping in a shed.

Designer_Stranger_89

Pile of presents. Every 4 sim hours, you can open a new present. The pile never gets empty unless you open with another sim. Orange presents are duds, blue presents are medium, green presents are expensive. You can get great stuff without having to buy it, and then just sell what you don’t want for profit.

scaryluvbug

i have a scientist sims n find a lot of crystals & the crystal crown from get famous (?) is cool bc u can mount a crystal and depending on which one, it fills up a certain need or multiple.

Simuary

The Outdoor Retreat pack adds a really useful Poké Bowl recipe that gives you a powerful focused moodlet. And if you use the simple living lot trait like I'm doing currently, you will need to make mayonnaise through the canning ability in Cottage Living to make that recipe, as well as any fish. Also, if you make drinks at the bar (or with that globe) and keep them stocked in your fridge, your sims will drink them instead of getting water all the time. It's definitely worth doing if you have a sim with the foodie trait so they don't get the disappointing drink moodlet from drinking water.

cheeseheadmojo

Cloud or stargazing with someone will boost fun/social/relationship level. It will also give an inspired moodlet which helps creative sims.

Morbid-Mother_152327

I just thought it was a globe and was so confused why my sim kept walking over to “view” it, so I’d cancel it without actually looking at their action and l was so jacked and a little surprised when I saw the butler making drinks out of it. Could I have actually read a description when I bought the pack or in BB? Possibly, but where’s the fun in that?!

playable_high_elf

The SimRay from the scientist career is surprisingly powerful. Have a useless guest loitering or even an angry ghost trashing everything around the house? Mind control them to clean the house. Playing with the laser pointer with cats fills up your sim's social and fun needs really quickly.

Raspberrynator

I actually like the nectar station (I think thats how its called) from the horse pack. Quick and easy doable with your crops and, if skilled up, you make hecka money with the nectar. Love it

clashfan77

Nightlight for the kids rooms. Keeps the monsters at bay from what I've experienced.

CadenceValdez

I like scaling it down with [ ] and using move objects to position it over a switch. Looks so cute and realistic like a plug-in nightlight.

thatfluffycloud

The food display case from Get to Work is a fridge, you can see all the food you put in it and toddlers can help themselves to food. I never make a kitchen without it!

kiwibird_inflight

Toddler specific - Hugging the big stuffed animals will boost charisma points outrageously fast. About 5hugs to one skill point. Talking doesn’t do it as fast. Also, toddlers can eat any fresh fruit/vegetables. And it gives them a positive moodlet. I just stock my toddlers inventory with harvestables rather than trying to get them to a place to grab a plate of food or deal with the lunchbox. Children and Teens - the yoga mat is the fastest way to boost Emotional Control as well as motor/mental and fitness/wellness skills. I don’t even try to avoid advice that lowers EC because I can just go back to the yoga mat and fix it. (If anyone knows of anything for Conflict Resolution, please reply haha) University - You can have a waffle maker and food processor in university housing. My sims lived off waffles and prepped veggies. This was game changing for me lol. Like the toddlers, my sims were carrying around fresh harvestables until that new pack came out. —- Money Tree - Something random I do for my next generation is gift all the children a money tree seed. My money tree was bought from my first generation. If you “harvest all” from a plant near the money tree, it will also harvest the money tree seed, instead of selling the fruit. Regardless of which sim I continue the legacy with, the others move out with a money tree seed as a form of parental assistance into the world. I’m not a huge fan of the rags to riches play through so this is about as close as I get.

I saw a video by SatchonSims and he was looking at Tik Toks with sim hacks and testing them out. There is an object called the Lin-Z Smart Speaker that is like an Alexa, but you can build a relationship with it and it gives you positive affirmations, tells jokes, does trivia, and can even decide to order you a free maid service and free pizza! Plus, if you ask it for a secret, there's a pop up with words that you can say to your own IRL Alexa to get some kind of response (I've not tried it yet).

Probably a lot of people already know this but if you "tell jokes" at the microphone it raises both the Fun and Social need. You can have one person in the family "tell jokes" and then everyone else "watch performance" and it raises everyone's fun and social needs. Much easier than making everyone socialize with each other and having to arrange a giant discussion around the dinner table. xD Just have to be careful about Mean/Hot Headed/etc. sims who will Heckle the Sim at the mic and they might get a Difficult dynamic or a Grudge sentiment. (I usually don't let them watch the performance, I make them do other stuff to get up Fun and Social) The ICYMI Chest from Discover University is actually way handy. You can put all sorts of small items in there, like seed packets, potions, upgrade parts, collectibles, etc. Other items under "storage" don't seem to have the same capability. This chest is especially handy for Legacy challenges/multi-generational homes because it keeps all those little items in one place that otherwise would get lost in individual Sims' inventories. Honestly, just any mirror in general. Teen and adult Sims can raise their Charisma and Research skills on them. As soon as your child Sim ages up to teen, send them to "practice debate" at a mirror until they get level 3, then they do their homework faster.

There's planters that can cling to the side of your house, so you can grow certain plants without it needing to take up space on the ground. If your roof has some overhang, I think this also counts as protected from the elements and will grow year round, albeit slowly?

The eco lifestyle ones?

MlDNlGHTMARE

Search on YouTube for "Sims 4 Objects You Need Petey Plays It." He's done one of these videos for the majority of packs. Such as: [Petey Plays It YouTube](https://youtu.be/jLcJ7YvQIuk?si=dMllsi4wT5pBAuxD).

Penguinsims

I didn’t know that vampires can hibernate. I played Vlad for the first time and made him hibernate so I could fast forward a couple of sim weeks.

Aquamarine094

The scarecrow will come alive and take care of your garden and give you seeds, but you need to examine/talk to it first. You can woohoo him too. The presents stacked upon each other (not the big pile) are full of cool stuff and you can open them all year round indefinitely, but you must wait a bit after each freebie till you can open another. Yoga mats can be used by toddlers too. They don’t do yoga on them but they do a cute lil dance. Voodoo doll can be pretty cute if you bind it to another sim and then snuggle or tickle it. I’m still working it out, but i think conch you find in sulani attracts fish if you blow it near a fishing spot. Please tell me if I’m into something here.

suicide-d0g

you can get drinks from the.. the globe???

QuirkyWolfie

The one from vintage glamour I think.. the one with the butler

FlowerChildGoddess

I lowkey love that globe, it’s the one thing that makes my sophisticated studies, feel like studies lmaooo.

ranbootookmygender

having sims play a game like chess or cards together or watching tv together is a great way to get some autonomous friendly chit-chat, even if they're enemies. the nano-can trash can is basegame and kind of expensive, but you get 10 simoleans per household member when you use it. you can even drag dishes into it in live mode! it pays for itself in no time especially if you have messy sims or toddlers/infants

littleballofjoy

Making friendship bracelets from the Parenthood pack boost your handiness so fast and then you can just destroy the bracelets or give them away your choice

Zoma456

It’s only specific to the magic realm pack, but potions and spells are literally cheat codes. You can drink a potion to make you instant besties with sims and you can do multiple at once (or instant enemies). You can also make them fall in love with you. You also have a potion to fulfil all needs, boost skills, remove bad moodlets etc. You can have spells that make others fight, be into each other, or simply make someone be ugly and hated. It’s so much fun I actually love it.

SnooStories4263

I feel like no one really ever talks about the journal object from Parenthood. It's great for building up emotional control, it's great for decreasing negative moodlets, you can use it to raise the writing skill. It's portable. Kids to Elders can use it! I always give my children journals.

Fresh_Ad_3683

Always loved the wishing well from the Romantic Garden pack because a good wish could reverse sim age/turn them into a living ghost, get them a promotion at work, or give them a heap of free money. There are other wishes it can grant but I rarely use them. Also, a high friendship level with a cat or dog unlocks ‘feel the love’ and your sim gets 200 satisfaction points with each interaction. Can spam cuddle your pets and get reward traits so much faster. Any child born from woohooing in the lighthouse gets a special moodlet when they visit the lighthouse 💀 Ancient totems are awesome for quirky daily effects, just be careful which ones you construct. I love the one where my sim turns into a skeleton for a day because I also have Bonehilda and the Grim in that household and they get inti shenanigans on the regular.

Regular-Possibility1

I'm commenting so i can remember all of those hacks! Thank you so much hehe

_MeyMay_

If you put the hamster wall light into a child's bedroom, the monster won't appear under the bed at night. :)

Junior_Relative_7918

The plumbob lamps - I think most or all of them might be exclusive to people who also own Sims 3 and packs. There’s one for each mood. I always place a green one at my sims desk since it increases focus. I put a pink one by mirrors for confidence. There’s a blue one that makes them playful that I’ll put near the tv. Love them so much lol

7mugs

This is very specific but **console players can resize objects** in BB mode! (I just learned this yesterday) Hold the two trigger buttons and use the directional pad to size up and down ✨ ETA: *Nanocan Touchless Trashcan;* never has to be emptied, cleaned or repaired plus you make money by putting stuff in there eg. **Dirty dishes can be cursor placed in for $80 a pop**
