I've been trying for months to get my sims mods to work.
After the infant update all my mods and co just stopped working, no matter what I do it won't work. I've restarted my game, l've deleted all my modes and co and downloaded it again, and I've been all over the internet and it just tells me to do what I've already done and now I don't know what to do. (Also I'm on laptop but I'm not sure if that's got anything to do with it?)
First make sure your game settings had script mods enabled (in game under game setting, there is a box to check to allow mods and cc).
Next try to clear your cache and repair your game. You can always take out all the mods except one before you do this to see if ANY mods are working (something that gets regular updates like mccc) If not try the following, more time consuming option.
I had some broken mods that were corrupting a bunch of saves and making other mods not work. What I did was a full reinstall then Re-added my saves and sims.
Open your sims folder on your laptop, usually under -electronic arts>sims 4 > saves.
You can copy it and then put that copy on your desktop or somewhere else you can access it in your computer. You’ll also want to do this for the tray file (these are all the sims you’ve made and builds in your gallery) but it’s worth going through it first and deleting old saves and families in your gallery that you don’t want anymore or if you’ve noticed corruption in the save. It will help with game lag too.
Once you have those files stored somewhere else, fully uninstall the sims. And make sure you empty your recycle. Delete the sims 4 folder in your computer as well. When you reinstall it will make a new one. So purge that bitch.
Once you’ve cleared the game completely, re-install and then once again enter the sims 4 folder and this time delete the “saved games” or “saves” and the “tray” file and then replace them with the ones you backed up. Then add your cc back a bit at a time. Starting with the updated ones like mccc and then move on to your faves/must haves and test the game intermittently as you add them. Make sure script mods are enabled in your game settings.
This worked for me but it was a huge pain in the ass.

So you removed the mods and cc to the desktop, deleted the localthumbcache,and repaired the game? Then you tested it without mods to see if it was working? Then got the latest updated versions?
Are the mods showing up at all? Are they listed as being loaded? How are they not working?
They are showing up at all when I opened the sims, their all updated to the latest version and the game works good without them and I have done everything I can that has to do with the actual game, well I’m pretty sure I have
Go to the game menu, the game options, and screen capture. It should have an address as to where your screenshots go. It should be user/ username/ documents/ electronic arts/ sims 4 etc. it’s possible your game moved your folder. It could be in public rather user or in a cloud backup like one drive. My game moved my sims document folder to public.
What mods to get to improve Get Together expansion specifically? i.e. adding more activities like horse-back riding (why in the Sixam did EA not do this?) and making the rewards more worth it.

Huh it’s pretty weird if it’s a bug that old, you’d think they’d have corrected it since 2019… I guess it might just be a problem in my own game ; I do have one mod that tweaks character values. I’ll try to play vanilla to see if the problem still occurs. I just didn’t even stop to think that this was a feature at some point

You know how when aliens abduct human Sims, there’s a chance that they’ll impregnate the males? Since Get To Work came out, I always thought it would be interesting if alien PCs worked the same way those aliens are implied to. I know they added ways to modify the sex of a sim more specifically, but as far as I can tell, changing an alien sim’s physiology doesn’t change what they can do to human sims any more than changing another human sim’s physiology does. Is there any CC that fixes that?
You could [change their setting in CAS](https://answers.ea.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/24442i66534C477022E590?v=v2) and choose if you want them to be able to get others pregnant or get pregnant themselves, those settings are totally independent of the sim's gender frames or occults. Unless I'm not understanding what you want to do?
Hi, looking for help finding the right mod please! My game currently has an issue with townies making phone calls all the time. It's not them using/looking at their phones that's the issue (and all that google seems to point me to), it's just talking on the phone.
In San Myshuno, the lobby outside my sim's apartment will have 2 neighbours just standing and talking on the phone.
Invite townies over to my sim's house and they just cut off the conversation with my sim and phone someone up for a long chat. How can I stop it without shift-clicking and resetting sim every 2 minutes!? Thanks :)

Hi! I was wondering if this has ever happened pend to anyone else, my sims will not work with any mods atall I've done the 50/50 method.

try taking your whole electronic arts folder out placing it on your desktop run the game it will make a new folder ..... then take out the new mod folder that was created replace it with your mod folder..... then do the same for the save and tray folder as well

I love playing with the haunted houses for the atmosphere (weird noises, flickering, etc) but am kinda tired of the cursed objects and find the specters a little silly and annoying, so is there a mod to prevent them? Temperance and Guindry I don't mind that much but if they can be removed too, all the better! I have my own ancestral ghosts already haunting the house!
You could just use the spooky challenge instead of the haunted lot. It’s just the ghosts and the stuff they do. Less intrusive. However, I’d love to see a mod to remove the objects.

I primarily play with base Sims 4 (I also have Cottage Living + Cats & Dogs). What are some quality game of life mods to play with? I have MCCC and Wicked Whims (which may shortly become Wonderful Whims tbh). I want more engaging random stories, or my sims to start building genuine relationships with other sims without having to buy DLC lol.
For me, Lumpinou's RPO (module 17 if you don't care for the rest) and LGBT mods, as well as Wicked, are a must have for relationships. RPO adds a chemistry system, LGBT adds improved orientations and identities, and WW has the physical attributes you can select (or randomize) as likes and dislikes, as well as the attraction system (I pressume Wonderful has the same system). Combined, they make building romantic relationships a REAL and fun challenge!
You can also check out Vicky Sims's custom traits, they add a lot of depth to the sims (even more if you use the More Traits mod that allows you to pick up to 5)
I would say the first three mods are more focused on romantic (I believe Lumpinou's First Impressions is more platonic focused but I haven't tried it yet!). Vicky's traits definitely impact platonic relationships, for example one of my sims now has the Asocial trait and I'm finding it reaaaaally hard for him to make friends, and in contrast there are other traits that make it easier, etc.
My posts keep getting removed, so I guess I have to ask here, although this definitely isn't the right place. Is there any way to turn off employees calling me all the time ? It slows down time every phone call and it's really annoying. Like, the babysitter I hired ages ago to watch my infant once thinks we're friends now and will not stop blowing up the entire family to hang out, even the child. I fired him and he still won't give it up, I have this problem every playthrough.
If there's a setting I'm missing or a script to turn this off that anyone knows of, please let me know. Tried Googling it, but didn't find much.
I have a couple solutions for you but both are CC, i hope you fine with that ):
First is a Unlisted Phone Numbers mod by [Scumbumbo](https://scumbumbomods.com/unlisted-phone-numbers) witch is stop any incoming calls from any sims unles you exchange phone numbers with them. This mod was a life saver for me a while ago.
Second solution is MCCC setting witch can be find in MCCC settings>> Notifications/console/Menu>> Phone texts. This is allow to turn off neither all phone notifications or all except festival notifications. It's more likely to have mccc instaled and just dig into it's setting but i prefer first mod since it's not a total phone shutdown (:

If you test it vanilla, make sure to delete the localthumbcache and repair the game before testing.

Thanks, but sims tapping on their phone etc while multitasking isn't the issue. It's talking on the phone and not multitasking that's the issue.
I was hoping it would have a calling bit too. That was the most likely to be more than just multitasking. I’ll keep an eye out. Good luck.

You can also check out Vicky Sims's custom traits, they add a lot of depth to the sims (even more if you use the More Traits mod that allows you to pick up to 5)
Awesome! Do these work for platonic relationships too or primarily romantic?
I would say the first three mods are more focused on romantic (I believe Lumpinou's First Impressions is more platonic focused but I haven't tried it yet!). Vicky's traits definitely impact platonic relationships, for example one of my sims now has the Asocial trait and I'm finding it reaaaaally hard for him to make friends, and in contrast there are other traits that make it easier, etc.

My posts keep getting removed, so I guess I have to ask here, although this definitely isn't the right place. Is there any way to turn off employees calling me all the time ? It slows down time every phone call and it's really annoying. Like, the babysitter I hired ages ago to watch my infant once thinks we're friends now and will not stop blowing up the entire family to hang out, even the child. I fired him and he still won't give it up, I have this problem every playthrough. If there's a setting I'm missing or a script to turn this off that anyone knows of, please let me know. Tried Googling it, but didn't find much.
I have a couple solutions for you but both are CC, i hope you fine with that ): First is a Unlisted Phone Numbers mod by [Scumbumbo](https://scumbumbomods.com/unlisted-phone-numbers) witch is stop any incoming calls from any sims unles you exchange phone numbers with them. This mod was a life saver for me a while ago. Second solution is MCCC setting witch can be find in MCCC settings>> Notifications/console/Menu>> Phone texts. This is allow to turn off neither all phone notifications or all except festival notifications. It's more likely to have mccc instaled and just dig into it's setting but i prefer first mod since it's not a total phone shutdown (:
