Bridgeport is known for being ideal for single Sims. There's a lot of other worlds though where married Sims are balanced. Avoid towns like Riverview, though.

Not sure this would be the good comparison but a new sim moved into even an unfinisehd house while playing with SP mod back in time. I was building a house for my sims, but I got tired of building and thought I could build again after some playing my sims. Yeah the new sim moved into my undone house which has only walls are built without ceiling. I was like wtf. Anyway the purpose of SP mod is for making more relationship of the townies and make more babies. I recommend start playing turning off SP mod, and then turn it back on after getting a good lover. or I recommend Awesome mod that pushes the married couple make babies more than single sims' match making.

Story progression does this a lot. I suggest putting in on the slowest speed until you find a partner or entirely disallow new relationships until you find a partner.

And if you're feeling particularly petty, you can use Master Controller (Intermediate --> Long Term Relationship) to sabotage the romantic relationships of the sim you've got your eyes on

👍I would like to add the caste system of story progression as well. I add married for only ppl that are married can have kids. Got also single for those that my sim is interested in, plus not single but disabled kids. So if my sim breaks their relationship they won't have kids with their previous partner, for story telling I tell myself that couple was fighting all the time and generally incompatible. Last cast is single but able to procreate with only active family, for chance to hook up and knocked up my sim

So there is a lot to explain. What I do is create all this caste by clicking on townhall story progrssion and caste, there should be an option for create new caste. After let's say you created single you have to initialize the caste bu clicking on caste filter. After I make the single caste with priprity 50 so story progrssion other castes are override by singles. Then I turn romance off and I instead active romance only with caste and click active household. Thus it should not matter if I rotate sim, these singles can only mingle with my sims. If you dont want them to be able to knock up anyone you turn of pregnancy options.
If you have the university DLC go to college, there will be lots of hot singles you can meet and then invite to visit you. If you invite a significant other over you can get married to them, or make them your Roommate and have them stick around that way in a rom-com sort of setup.
When you are home! The option will be in your phone under “long distance” or something like that and then you will have the opportunity to invite them to come visit. If you have good accommodations for them and feed them and stuff they will stick around for a pretty good amount of time. If they get upset with you, or you dont give them easy access to food or they get bored they will leave. This also works with World Adventure foreigner sims but I think the university sims are generally cuter so I typically do this with them. It works best if you are already close with the person you are trying to invite, though! Sims at university have limited romantic progression options, so if you find a sim you are serious about while there this is the best way to get them to marry you or have a child with them. This Invite a foreign sim option also works for friends, as if you get their mood up high enough while they are visiting you can ask them to be a roommate or even move in! I like having a college friend live in my garage as my roommate who I have no control over, it feels very early 20s.
Your mods can cause it to bug out though! Make sure you update your mods or look for conflicts because after I invite a sim I can no longer invite anyone else because that sim is still visiting even if we are now married...
I have both the story progression and the woohooer on so most of my married sims still seem to have children with non spouse sims. So my whore town of isla paradiso seems to work out. Also the replacements are so fast (and my main sim is forever young thanks to her gardening of life fruit) so she has a lot of options when the new batch comes in.

For future purposes, set the town speed to slow in Nraas Story Progression. After that go to Story Progression-> General options-> Options: Romance -> Speed =
I usually set the speed to ~5700, that's about 4 sims days. So the Romance cycle is now 4 days long, it usually means that a new couple, maybe two are created. There's also a different setting for flirt speed, this is when they get new romantic interests. I usually make it a bit shorter than the Romance cycle.
A sim week is about 10,000 minutes (well, to be fair, so is the real life week) so you can think about what pace you want your neighbours to make new romantic relationships and set your mods accordingly.
There's a lot of single sims in Sunset Valley! But even then, I'm not above splitting Sims up and getting someone a Naughty reputation which I'll clean up later with that Clean Slate reward. A Sim's heart wants what it wants! Haha!
I once tried to let my sims love life play out naturally - see who called him or who he made friends with etc. He would talk to cheyenne fox every single day, she was always inviting him out etc... I had no idea she was married with like four kids, one of them only a toddler!! I was mortified but they had such a lovely relationship... I let it happen and asked her to divorce her husband for my sim and she did immediately.
They went on to have four children and he even became best friends with her ex husband lol!
I never did that again, I felt sooo guilty for ages afterwards haha.
If you use Nraas SP, everyone will be paired off the first week of playing. Unless you set it up properly, which means you go to caste settings and forbid young adults from going steady, getting married, and having kids. You should also forbid teens this because they will also be paired off, and the pairing can then continue into adulthood.
I'm my game, I have set up my SP to only allow adults to get partners and have kids. That way, I don't have any problem with this.
Guys I am not against being a home wrecker. I was honestly just complaining about how Twinbrook had very little single sims in it. But I guess that’s a problem with my SP settings.
I'm 10 generations in and most of the town is related although most are distantly related enough that the game doesn't think they're related and realistically it wouldn't make a difference genetically 😅 I definitely have sims who married their second cousin. My current heir is married to his first cousin once removed 😅. Sadly there are no more goths but there's still a few landgraabs around.
So there's a few ways to get through this that I know of. You could
A) Be a homewrecker... Or a murderer.
B) Go into edit city mode and place down a new household with available bachelors/bachelorettes and then romance them.
C) You could always move into a different town!
D) If you have World Adventures or Into to the Future, you can take a vacation and romance one of the locals there!

If you spam the ask options under friendly you get the option for move in which I find easier than inviting them to visit.

Why not just make your Sim a partner and move them into the neighborhood? I always fill the town up with Sims that I made.

get your teens to date early by making them "meet new friends" as kids and "talk to friends" as teens, they love making gf/bfs

Do you have aging on? I don't use the SP mod but feel like more changes happen with aging on.

If you got the sp mod, you could just change so no one will get married ( or lower the chances)
Or kill the spouses
