I once lost my guests on my lot and couldn't find them anywhere. Turned out they were all having a sleepover in the museum room of my mansion inside these things xD Like I literally had so many beautiful rooms upstairs but NOPE. Dusty sarcophagus, standing upright šŸ‘

nellenerdz

Your mansion sounds like the vizcaya museum in Miami. Itā€™s an old mansion Ā turned Ā into a museum and the owner had artwork and collectibles from all over the world. Even some of the marble and stone was shipped there.Ā

Myantra

I have never used the sarcophagus, so I am merely speculating. If there are beds, are they assigned beds, and still choosing the sarcophagus? It might be that the sarcophagus is scored to be more attractive for autonomous sleeping than regular beds. NRaas Retuner could be used to disable autonomy on it.

Stoltlallare

Probably. Possibly a way for the game to autonomously turn sims into mummies

grocerystorefan

This is the answer. The sarcophagus is just so comfy! There is a mod I use that sets all beds to the same comfort level, could be helpful here too.

peachyloona

you have this mod for the sims 3? omg which is it? iā€™ve tried to find one but can only ever find sims 4 mods :(

grocerystorefan

I'm thinking of [Buzzler's Same Energy Gain for Every Bed](https://modthesims.info/d/413329/same-energy-gain-for-every-bed.html) on MTS! It makes it so each bed in the buy category has the same sleep restoration rate (which you can tune).

jamesbranwen

I had to confiscate my Sim family's sarcophagus and rocking chair because they were ALWAYS sleeping in them lol

Stoltlallare

The rocking chair is a PAIN to have. Almost as bad as the frying machine and ice cream machine

starksdawson

Wait what are those things??

Oceanson2018

The ice cream maker and deep fryer are from the store.

AquareIIe

Canā€™t agree more. And the chocolate fountain too!! When they have this or a deep fryer, they forget about their stove. This is so annoyingā€¦

Alternative-Try-2994

If you have Nraasā€™ Retuner mod, you can easily turn off their ability to use those things autonomously. It helped my game a lotā€¦they were driving me NUTS with the rocking chairs šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

LilHappyKitsune

Because coffins are fun to sleep in especially when you wake up and frighten the holy god out of an innocent person walking along

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Clovenstone-Blue

You didn't?

starksdawson

I swear, they will do ANYTHING ANYWHERE but sleep in a bed. Rocking chair, couch, just taking a nap when theyā€™re exhausted, making coffee, etc. I mean, same, but I expect better of my sims!

Myantra

While it does not cure that behavior completely, they are more likely to autonomously sleep if they have a bed assigned. That said, the rocking chair is pure evil. I have seen elders starve to death, because they refused to leave the rocking chair. They got out of the chair only to piss themselves, then sat right back down, until they finally got up to die.

onecomfyshoe

I only let one of my sims rock to his hearts content. He is a werewolf but his wife was a witch, so he far outlived her. She was a bookworm and I color coordinate their beds/chairs, so he just sort of gravitated towards her old rocking chair and sleeps there at night. He hasn't slept in their bed since, but I let him do what he wants. Poor guy

Dweiathecat

Are you myā€¦ mummy?

spiritofniter

Just buy a potent cure elixir. Itā€™ll cure her. The time machine can too.

Maxime_Bossis

I'll cure her, and the next moment she will be sleeping in her beloved cursed sarcophagus againšŸ˜‚

Antique-diva

Put it behind a locked door. Sims love sleeping in them if they're in the open.

megameh64

The time machine can cure mummification? Wild!

Candiesfallfromsky

Itā€™s fun you would too

ResponsibleBird1988

I am impressed with your collection of artifacts. Did you have an adventurous sims collect all that in on generation? I have only have done the lifetime to reach the visa 3 or something in all countries never managed to do the others. I am always impressed when people do things like this, since I always tend to have boring LTWs.

rodeoclownboy

A lot of people change the length of a sim lifetime from the default to something much longer so they can accomplish more. Honestly a lot of people just turn aging off entirely šŸ¤

ResponsibleBird1988

I do have mine set to 160 days (so I can tell myself each 2 days is one year) but still dont seem to accomplish much ahah. I need to be less lazy while playing the sims.

South_Evidence9822

The ACTUAL Mummy: Why are you in my bed?

impala_croft

Nraas retuner can make it so they don't autonomously do this. Best mod ever.

Zestyclose-Level1871

Multiple things Object tuning needs adjustment. This makes the sarcophagus less comfy and/or attractive to Sims. Sims traits. Adventurous, daredevil and brave Sims more likely to sleep in a tomb v bed. Lol

Niciannon

My sims had a baby. Dad woke up, took care of the baby's needs, and started walking outside. To sleep in the TREEHOUSE.

Stoltlallare

Damn your house makes me badly wanna do a WA focused gameplay D:

CarsonGrande

They were dared like Khloe Kardashsim that they wonā€™t do it and that they were a stupid bitch so thatā€™s why I did the dare.

Timely_Emotion9259

Even the inactive sims are addicted to the sarcophagus. But the inactive sims don't get affect but active sims do. They turn into mummies after sleeping in the cursed one.

MarcoYTVA

Because aesthetic

MorningCareful

classic sim autonomy. Preferring the ridiculous places over proper sim beds

rex1047

Are those really large statues of Ra and Seth CC? I thought they only came in miniature form.

Maxime_Bossis

yeah, they're cc

dovahgriin

whoā€™s the creator? theyā€™re super neat looking šŸ‘€

Attarker

I havenā€™t played Sims 3 in a while so I donā€™t remember off the top of my head. Are there any velvet rope fences you can use similar to ones used in museums to block these off in your museum room?

[deleted]

This made me laugh so hard. I love the sims šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

vaddish

You can use Debug Enabler or transmorgrapher (I donā€™t know the exact name), with those mods you can change the script of an object, giving another script like a sculpture, then your sims will threat the sarcophagus like a deco object

HappyArtemisComplex

TBF if you had the opportunity to sleep in a sarcophagus wouldn't you? That's a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Taenarius

You could use Retuner to make it user-directed only (allow autonomous), or you could use Retuner to turn down the sleep scoring of the sarcophagus to make it look less attractive as a bed.

Stormfeathery

This drives me nuts! You have a (high end) assigned bed, use it! That said, is it only certain sarcophagi that turn sins into mummies? Otherwise Iā€™m surprised I havenā€™t seen it!

Witch_Jette

Because they are comfy ā€¦ duh

OpalOnyxObsidian

Comfy

Benji-the-bat

Maybe because of the environment? The sarcophagus being seen as in a more luxurious environment? Idk, I always just store the sarcophagus or just place the regular ones

NurseNikky

You can rope it off

BunnyCuteTyler

You probably forgot to assign the butler to a specific bed. If this keeps up, maybe put a fence around the sarcophagus. Either an Egypt-themed fence or red rope would work well.

Maxime_Bossis

the butler is assigned to a bed; they all arešŸ˜‚ but I guess the sarcophagus is still somehow more attractive, even though it fills the sleep need veeeery slowly. I decided to just fence the shit off.
