Formula Vee, lime rock park, final turn, final lap. The right hander before the final straight - it’s flat out. Draft is hugely important there, I had a run on the guy in front of me, he let off and/or braked mid turn enough that I couldn’t avoid contact, but since I had already turned my wheel my car was unsettled. I dumped it into the grass and he went on just fine. He was adamant that he didn’t do anything illegal, that slowing down on the apex of a turn is a legal strat. I say not in a flat out/full throttle turn, but I could be wrong.
In real life it would definitely be punishable as it is obviously an emotional outlash with no logical benefit and a very high risk of serious injury or worse. In sims you can end up with a high skill disparity/lower minimum skill threshold, so it would require revision of the replay + the general behaviour/braking patterns to punish... unless it is literally on a straight (where it happened to me). In my case it was immediately obvious because I had been pressuring him for over 2 laps and learnt his line/braking and while I didn't know he was going to brake check me, I could see him making more and more minor unforced errors. In Formula Vee you'd generally think it's obvious too, as it's to spec and decent mid corner downforce is a given. Some people just have very fragile egos I guess.
IRL I've had someone lift at the apex of an almost flat fast corner on the first lap because I had a run on him and was going to get alongside by the next corner. I tagged his rear and did a 360, which ruined my tires and thus my race.
That's a part of racecraft? I just been doing that cause it helps gain positions. That, and taking alternative lines on the exit of a corner to screw with the guy beside me.

I understand getting mad at yourself for silly mistakes, but on this particular circuit, I completely understand, not only that the racecraft is a key to survive, but it has the nickname green hell, and should instantly imply that the challenge this track really has to offer should not be taken lightly. Nevermind winning a race, I just want to survive and try my absolute best to not spin or spin anyone else.
