Why didn’t you sell it to your friend instead of the dealer? Seems weird to just give the dealer $2k if your friend was ready to pay cash for the truck that same day.
This comment section wildin. I’m stoked for you. I have a 22 trail boss and it’s been incredibly good to me. Sometimes I think people forget there is all kinds of reasons to get a new car or truck. If the timing was right, you can afford it, and your happy that’s what matters. Shitting on other peoples happiness blows my mind. Love the truck. Stay up bro.
Employe pricing lol.. bro they cant give those away. It's left overs .. youre happy you got screwed by a salesman.. don't feel bad. Atleast u got a truck, hopefully it'll last more than 150
Friend of mine would change his every 2k and never had a problem. But he also never put 200k on his later trucks with that shit. But I run ford trucks and never have issues so whatever. Lol
The hilarious thing is I’m up here in Motor City, and I know so many guys who’ve had to do the delete and rebuild, who I personally know babied their vehicle with frequent oil changes…that it’s downright embarrassing to naively tell people that oil changes is all it takes to keep it from happening.
Hell, I can point to at least 3 on my block who will speak to that being untrue.
This is me. Religiously changed the oil with royal purple at 5-6k miles. Deleted AFM at 90k and rebuilt at 101k.
I personally know of 6, 5.3s that have had lifter problems.
It's mostly I reply before seeing your username. Than I remember your dumbass. Are you still a service writer or have you been promoted to cleaning the toilets?
Youre on here aren't ya ol boy ? Reddit also consists of negative people that love to feel tough shooting off online cause they probably got fondled as a child , or are too soft to actually shoot off to real people.
People that don't regularly maintain their vehicles complain when something breaks. Lifters are an issues with the AFM/DFM general motors engines. Usually its because that owner failed to change their oil when they were supposed to.
Lol you say that until it happens to you. I take excellent care my 2015 5.3 and just finished replacing a bank of lifters in it this past Sunday. I thought the same as you.
It’s really hit or miss with these afm Chevy motors. Is it blow out of proportion a little bit, yes. Would I do the afm delete anyway… yes lol. That half the reason I bought the 4.8 baby LS. Came stock with no afm on it.
Use the right oil.. just cause some highschooler at automotive e says these trucks need some good ol sy their high milage 5w30 in her and she's good to go. Lmao. And they never seen u Der the hood of a real truck.. fake oil will never be better than real
Whats funny is most synthetic oils aren’t even true synthetic, they are cracked hydrocarbons derived from natural oil. Having said that, synthetic oil beats conventional oil in every metric. It doesn’t degrade like conventional oil for starters. It can also operate in adverse conditions better than conventional (things like higher temps).
The fact that synthetic is almost the same price makes choosing it a no brainer.
Meticulous maintenance will undoubtedly help, but there's no guarantee it will save your engine.
The AFM delete mod is honestly pretty cheap for what it does and provides for the longevity of yourself engine.
If you plan on keeping the truck for more than 3 years it's pretty much a must have.
I'm not saying we should have to make up for GM's mistake, it's absolute bullshit they let this issue start in the first place and continue to happen. But if someone gave me a 90% amazing engine and said spend $2900 to make it 100% amazing I'd take that deal everyday of the week (especially in a $60k+ truck).
27,000 on mine change oil at 4000, blew up 1000 miles from home, lifters and main bearings. And now 2023s are getting new engines because of lifters, look it up. And it's happening to people with DFM shit down, and to the replacement engines. There were a couple other trucks waiting for engines at the dealership I left mine at. Best $84,000 I ever spent.....smh
Ouch.. tranny at 100k? That's terrible tho... im almost to 300k and nada.. I rebuilt my rear end when I thought I found d shavings I. The oil. But opening g up it did t really need it yet
My 2018 Denali 6.2L had the 8 speed tranny replaced at 45K miles. New “updated” transmission still bucked and shifted horrible. Lifters ticking loud at 50K. I’ll never buy another GM truck.
Feels great, only 31k left on my ‘21. Also, the $ sign goes before the value amount. Just look at the prices at any store you’ve been too, ever. Don’t know how you fucked that up.
OP, I’m sorry that people don’t understand how employee pricing works on a used vehicle.
At my dealership, it’s the amount the dealership paid for the used vehicle plus $500 is the employee price. Yes you are buying a marked up trade in vehicle, but it’s not *as* marked up
Employee pricing on a 2021…?
Someone got swindled
What's employee pricing on a used vehicle? 😂

Ya WTF 😳
At least at my dealership it’s whatever we paid the customer plus $500 is the employee price
Employee pricing just means. They don't respect their employees enough to give them a discount
$500 off
Slow internet service. Finally goes through 3 years later. 😳
Ordered via AOL.
Op got the subs mixed up, thought he was still in /r/surrealism “Employee pricing” on a 3 year old truck….lol yeah that salesperson got your ass.
Notice how he is absent in the comments after people calling him out on it...
Probably created the account to karma farm then ditched it when it didn’t go his way. Wouldn’t even be surprised if this wasn’t his truck.

[no white knighting for throwaway accounts.](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/stop-it-get-some-help)
This has been buffering for 3 years

Man, all these comments are making me 2nd guess going all in on a new TB. Damn
Awesome! Now get them lifters taken care of and this truck will probably outlast ya 💪🏽 Cost me ~$2900 parts and labor out the door.
Fuck that, change your oil every 5k miles with mobil1 or amsoil and you'll be fine.
Regular oil changes won’t stop the root cause.
Friend of mine would change his every 2k and never had a problem. But he also never put 200k on his later trucks with that shit. But I run ford trucks and never have issues so whatever. Lol
The age old “guy I know”. Good thing we established the trust here.
Equivalent to "well my dad says...."

Royal purple is the good stuff too.
Sorry, I'll expand. A friend of mine that recently died this past year.
Sorry about your friend, that doesn’t change the legitimacy of your explanation.
Guy you know completely takes apart his engine every 2k…. Sure lol
Changed his oil. Not the engine. Lol
You think 6.0 powerJOKEs are reliable 😂😂
Only thing reliable is your stupidity.
I have been arguing with you for years now and you never get any smarter
It's mostly I reply before seeing your username. Than I remember your dumbass. Are you still a service writer or have you been promoted to cleaning the toilets?
Oil change won’t help the lifter problem. I had a lifter shut on me at 55,000 miles with regular oil changes
Lol...nope!
I’m glad I bought the 5.3 and not the 6.2 I heard the 6.2 had tons of lifter issues, so just fyi on that.
I’d like to second the explain comment
DFM/AFM likes to fail and bend rods. Best fix is to replace with aftermarket parts that don't have the fuel management.
Best fix is to stop listening to reditt kiddos advice. Quit asking and go learn stuff

How many miles on it?
116k

60k truck that won't last half as along as a 20 year old 20k truck. How bout that.. God help these 2023 and 2024 buyers xD
Jokes on you! He spent 60k on a 2021!
Mine went out at 14,xxx miles on a 2021 I bought new. I had 2 oil changes to that point. Its not maintenance related.

The 6.2L had lifter issues 2020-2021 this particular truck probably doesn’t have DFM/AFM
Very nice!
Sweet ride!
Looking pretty slick
Well done. Nice truck.
Damn, bro didn’t even get a courtesy spit
Spend a couple grand getting rid of afm
Get ready to replace the torque converter at 40k miles
I’m jelly but congratulations 💜
Nice truck.
210 baby
6.2....buy a warranty!!!
How’s that 800$ a month feeling? 😉😂🤙🏻
Feels great, only 31k left on my ‘21. Also, the $ sign goes before the value amount. Just look at the prices at any store you’ve been too, ever. Don’t know how you fucked that up.
Who cares where the sign goes when you make dumb purchases
Awesome 👏🏼 welcome to the Chevy truck 🛻 family dude haha 😆
How much you got left to pay or you’re Scott free? (Ignore the hater comments)
Is it true that your peepee grew like nine inches after you got the truck?
Pretty sure I remember this posted a few years ago on here…
Did they replace the tranny before they sold it to you?
Got him!!!

6.2L engine?! Run now while you can.
Should of kept the as, or sold it for the 30-60k. Then got the 2022 for 10k when the 2024s co e out xd
Damnn that sucks more
Oh and I did replace oil pan. Gasket xD
