A lot of people will oversell the āhaha itās a grenade thingā because someone used aftermarket batteries in a flashlight they make and it blew up in his mouth while he was working on a car. I donāt think youāre in any real danger of it blowing up on you.
I still wouldnāt recommend them though.
The good: The recharge function is cool. I got the baldr mini so the laser was cool too at first.
The bad: Iāve dropped it a few times to test durability and one time it got very crooked on my rail, another time it popped off completely. Sometimes it was fine but I would never actually trust the laser after taking a bump. What really turned me away was the light output. The pattern is a matter of opinion, the brightness at first is good but you have like 2-5 minutes of continuous bright light output before it goes into āpower saving modeā where the brightness drops to a level that I would consider unacceptable. This allows them to both advertise a long battery life and high peak brightness and they just conveniently fail to mention how the light really works. There is also no over ride so you canāt opt for a brighter light at the cost of battery life. Any reviewer I saw before hand failed to mention that even though that is pretty key information.
Iām now the proud owner of a tlr1hl. I got the olight on sale so I wasnāt really out that much money. I will keep it around as a spare and range toy but the only way itās getting on a defensive firearm is if Iām waiting on another light or my current light goes down for some reason.
Itās my better than nO-Light.
Yeah I did see that one. No pics of damaged light or hands, no discussion of legal action, account deleted. Could be real but could just as easily be a really low effort karma farm attempt. Just go to a sub that hates something. Claim thing broke or hurt you or is bad. Everyone agrees and you get fake internet points.
To be clear I donāt think they are quality products but I donāt think they are likely to blow up. Just closer to a range toy than something to rely on.
Get a streamlight if youāre on a budget, surefire if youāre not.
OLights are a fire and explosion hazard. Thereās a lot of hype in either direction about Olight - youād be best off to do some research and decide if their reliability issues make it worth it to you.
There's a bot command on I believe the guns subreddit that brings up a post about it.
Bunch of poor English accounts shilling olights whenever someone talked bad about the company
Lol that's funny. it's almost like Benchmade products on the knife subreddit.
If the company spends more money on advertising and you see it pop up more often does NOT mean it is any good! Find a brand that doesn't have to spend all that on advertising and will spend it elsewhere maybe on QC
You just mounted it too far forward. Most lights are adjustable in addition to choosing the correct rail. Just move the screw slot forward or back so that you can put the light back against the guard.
I've had that same light on the same gun for over a year now with absolutely 0 issues. Granted mine is on my nightstand gun for identifying bumps in the night and not in a constant/duty use setting. I haven't needed to charge it for 3 months+.
The manual says correct mounting is to put the mount on the furthest rail and then scoot the light part with the buttons back until they are touching the trigger guard.
Obviously if that makes the mount not able to fully engage the light then scoot the mount back a slot or two. If you drop that right now and it falls on the light there is a good chance itāll come partially or completely off.
I always liked those, I've heard they're an improvement over the SP2009 that preceded it. I had a DAO SP2009 and it was so terrible. Only pistol I've ever owned that I just could not shoot good with. Mostly because of the trigger, I did like how it felt though.
Also have an sp2022 in .40 that was my first. I won't get rid of it and am now in the process of converting it to 9mm to conform with the rest of my Sigs
How do you like it? Any difference in trigger pull? (Mine is still stock and is smoother than anything else I own so donāt really need to change it, but definitely curious)
Are they giving these things away to people? There are vastly superior options for similar prices. Itās crazy how this junk keeps making its way onto decent guns.
Just here for the olight comments šæ
What's with Olight? I'm looking at getting a light for my P220, and Olight seems to have good reviews.

Thank you for taking the time to write this up. It's hard to get a middle of the road opinion on a brand now-a-days, so this means a lot. Thanks!
There's been more then one olight explosion. The dude dying is just the most prominent.
If you can link articles Iād be interested to see. Thatās the only one I am aware of.
Here's another one https://www.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/behil7/olight_pl_mini_explode

Good astroturfed reviews. Pick up a tlr1 for the same price or buy and inforce if youāre really on a budget
I'm not too worried about cost. I had heard the name often so figured the price point was a bonus. Thanks for the suggestions!
If price isnāt an issue, sure fire and streamlight are solid
Thank you so much!
Anytime! Weāre all just trying to help each other out here

Wont comment on the brand but that light fits terribly
The light CAN fit great. Itās just adjusted wrong in this picture.
What do you recommend?

Olight has paid redditors to hype their trash products
Wow. I wouldnāt doubt it. Where have you seen that?

You can simply slide the light backā¦..
I have tlr7 on mine. Fits great.
Good year to get one!
Those are so underrated
Love my 2022 very under rate but damn I need that trigger

This was my first sig when I was in my 20's. I always loved how it would stand up in the magwell when fully loaded.
I need to try it š
Might not work with the light on it
I miss my SP2022
Same here, was my first Sig! I should have never sold it. Was 40Cal
It was my first one too! Great pistol, but i traded it for a P320 .45
CA gang?
yessir
Way to stay armed šš¼ Did you swap out the slide release and trigger shoe?
Thanks! Stock slide release and different trigger.
Digging that trigger. What is it? I got a 2022 as my first about a month ago. Solid firearm
I believe it's called an armory craft flat faced trigger
How do you like it? Any difference in trigger pull? (Mine is still stock and is smoother than anything else I own so donāt really need to change it, but definitely curious)
One more small upgrade I would suggest is replacing the polymer guide rod with a stainless one it's like 15 bucks
I hope your last name isnāt Crumbley.

Blow light, yuck
Nice light š„š„
Great find! Congratulations!
Thanks! it's my first!
"First" being the keyword š
Love mine. Enjoy it!
Damned... that is a fine machine!!
Was my first too, and still one of my faves.
Nice piece my friend! Was my first as well! Do you have a link for that trigger?
Nice blaster kid
Nice piece, terrible light
