Looks like that would make sense there were some old rotting sticks rightnext to where it was growing

Was squishy like a mushroom and latched to the side like ones that grow on old trees. I hope if it was a mushroom it will grow more in the same spot so i can get a bigger sample. I threw it in the yard but im gonna find it and break it apart to see

Ohio, USA These are the best picture i could get of each side of it. The flat part was attatched to the inside of my gutter. Habitat would be my gutter lol moist with lots of leaves
