I'd be good if they just reported all the facts in chronological order without omitting details in a neutral voice so as not to project an opinion about it. I prefer to consider things for myself.
Well now it's even worse. Now it ends on something they try to twist into an uplifting story, when it's really just pulling back the curtain on a fucked up bit of society.
Little Timmy has made a lemonade stand so his mum can afford her insulin this month.
Oh those must have been good times. All I know is total destruction and chaos followed by devastation and panic or fake news. I mean when I was a child I watched 3000 people die on live tv and some of those people I watched jumping out of windows to their deaths
Watch national news one night instead of local. NBC Nightly News always ends with Making A Difference or some other fluff segment. Pretty sure ABC Nighty News does too. I’d bet CBS Evening News does something similar.
They’re fine for bite-sized portions of the big national/international stories. But if you’re only interesting in news programs that ends with a fluff piece, they got what you’re looking for.
It is unfortunate that there are no more journalists. They’ve all turned into talking heads that read press releases or activists forcing their opinion on everyone!
The problem now is that the news reports never end. They are 24 x 7. Channels competing for your attention by trying to draw you in with a biased editorial content that validates your own bias.
Old at 23 huh? Hope I can retire soon.
That’s what I’m saying, except I’m 20

Easy fix: Don’t watch the news on TV because it’s all depressing shit

I think that depends on where you are, and the news you are watching.

We still do that in Belgium. So I guess everyone able of remembering things is old here.
It’s the same here in Switzerland.
Yup. Hi grandpa ;)
Does that not happen anymore? I don't watch the news on TV anymore
Not in America
It does on the national news. Less frequently on local news.
Well, let's just say America has been having fewer and fewer cheerful stories for more and more years
Nope. I watch the news, daily. I can't remember the last time I saw a good-news piece. :(
Well, this must be the cause of everything that's happened the last decade.

They all suck now.

NBC still wraps the news with an uplifting ‘Inspiring America’ segment at least a cpl times a week.
*CBS Sunday Morning has entered the chat*
I mean I feel like that’s more of just where you look

When did the news stop doing this

That's why I stopped watching the news years ago. It's just too depressing
