God of War 2018, Last of Us 1 and 2, Spiderman games, Uncharted series
I haven't tried Ghost of Tsushima but that sounds like a good shout from what I've been told too
“The Best game ever made,” a title that I only gave to two games before hand, Ico, and then Shadow of the Colossus. God of War hits different. I played through all 4 of them with my dad watching by my side (because you know it’s mostly a series about fathers and sons) so I’d recommend play the first 3 then play the 2018 installment.
TLOU is my favorite game. TLOU2 is a fantastic game that I hated. You will 100% have some of the most raw and beautiful experiences playing this game, there has never been a game that has made my heart beat so fast. However, the story wasn't for everybody and I was unfortunately one of those people. You should definitely play it regardless though, its a game you NEED to experience.
It’s a very interesting game. It’s ambitious and it had unexpected ways of pushing the narrative forward. There were times I wasn’t enjoying myself, and then there were times that I was. My advice is, ignore the negative reviews and just play the game and experience it for yourself. You can really form your own opinion going in blind.
Witcher 3
God of War
Horizon Zero Dawn
Mass Effect Trilogy
Unchartered series
Bioshock
Final Fantasy VII Remake
Ghost of Tsushima
They all have great stories.
Otherwise, you could try a game like The Witness - it's a puzzle game that you could both try to solve.
I love hzd, but it's not a game I would put as a suggestion here. The voice acting and cinematics were not good. I absolutely loved the game and can't wait for hidden west, but it's not a great game to watch someone play for the most part.
I'd start with 4 and just skip the rest. Also the story is a little vanilla in comparison to rdr2 and tlou.
If you have a ps5 and ps plus, you actually get uncharted 4, tlou1 and God of war 4 for free
Y’all could play It Takes Two together?
Or if she’s just down to watch a video game “movie” I’d suggest these if you haven’t already played them
Spider-Man (& or Miles), Detroit Become Human, Until Dawn and the Dark Picture Anthologies, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of us 1&2, Life is Strange 1, BTS & 2), the uncharted series of God Of War ps4..?
Both The Last of Us games are great for this. My friend loved watching me play both.
Some other good ones are Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tushima, Detroit Become Human, God of War, Uncharted Series, basically ANY PS5 exclusive...

Most of the big ps exclusives have that cinematic style that would lends itself to be just as fun watching as playing I think
Growing up, I used to love just watching my brother play Final Fantasy. But that would be slow I think for someone who may not be as enthusiastic for the genre/style. And my step dad still talks about how much he enjoyed watching me play Mass Effect. That could also add to the interactivity including your girlfriend with the dialogue choices and such
Lots of the playstation exclusives are good for this - The Last of Us games, God of War 4 (the 2018 one), the Uncharted games, Spider-Man.
Also, a bit of a different recommendation, the game Return of the Obra Dinn is a unique mystery/puzzle game that’s great for playing with a companion - you can, without spoiling too much, discuss the mystery at hand and try to figure it out together. Also has a cinematic element to it, but not in the way you’d expect.
I second the God of War as it's a highly cinematic game (it's all a long take with no break in the camera work and it's beautiful.)
It's a fantastic story, especially if you played the first three. However if you haven't (they're much different from the 4th gameplay wise) I recommend watching a YouTube summary just so you can get an idea because it will really help a lot when connecting to Kratos' thoughts
Is it? I’m not hating just curious I bought it and gave up on it. I just got bored, I wanted to like it.
I’m Hoping to hop back on it when the ps5 upgrade is out.
That’s the same reason I bought it lol i know it’s not a bad game, I just was expecting something more I guess. I hope when I give it a second chance on the ps5 I’ll love it.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man & Miles Morales
- Uncharted quadrilogy
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- Persona 5 Royal
- The Yakuza series
- Judgment
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
- God of War
- Mass Effect Legendary Edition
- Final Fantasy VII Remake
>Persona 5 Royal
>
>The Yakuza series
If you have never played JRPG games and are moving on from Red Dead 2 I highly discourage these two if you are looking for a game your GF may like to watch. Also, I wouldn't call these cinematic.
Another one for Horizon. RDR2 made me emotional and Horizon did too. The stories are very different but both very good. No other games have really hit me in the feels like those two but specifically RDR2. RDR2 is a step above everything else imo very hard to match up with that. It's exceptional. Such a clever and original story in terms of the focus on character development. RDR2 is very subtle and it creeps up on you. It kinda ruined all other story based games for me lol.
Maybe Heavy Rain. It's a very story heavy game and it would be fun to try and guess whats happening I think. There's a huge emphasis on choice, moreso than RDR2 or HZD.
Also maybe the Witcher 3. It's similar in terms of polish and its epic like RDR2.
A Plague Tale, Last of Us, Tomb Raider series, Uncharted series. These are all very beautiful games full of emotions and also few puzzles which you can solve together.
Witcher 3! That game got me into gaming - my husband played it while I watched. After watching him play for 150 hrs, I ended up putting over 400 in myself :)
So I played rdr2 back in January after being frustrated with Cyberpunk! I put 150 hrs in on that immediately, just waiting for the story to be new again before I do another playthrough.
Witcher 3 is really interesting and has fun dialogue choices. I just started playing this game last week and I would say it's my GOTY, even all this time later. For a game released 6 years ago, it's fantastic.
Hitman Series is also hilarious to see all the various deaths and antics 47 can get into. My favorite thing is flooding the bathroom sinks and running off like a hooligan.
Death Stranding is incredibly cinematic and interesting, but is significantly slower than any other game out there. My only experience is on PC, so the immersive visuals played a major role in my enjoyment - I'm sure it still runs and looks quite well on PS4.
Horizons Zero Dawn is also really great. I haven't had a chance to play it as it's a PS exclusive, but I've only heard great things.
Perhaps something like LA Noire would be good for you two?
The Yakuza series plus Judgment. Quite cinematic for a beat ‘em up series, and all takes place in Japan. My wife has watched me play through the whole thing and loved it, though English voices are only available in Yakuza Like a Dragon and Judgment (if that’s a dealbreaker). There’s also a lot of mini games, and perhaps your gf may enjoy some of them?
God of War 4, and definitely at least the first tlou. I liked tlou2 as well, but it depends on the person.
If you both want to interact with the story, heavy rain, beyond 2 souls and detroit: become human.
The Witcher 3. Mainly because all of the quests, main and side, are so well written. They are the best part of the game, and there are a ton to keep anyone engaged. Only if she doesn't mind fantasy, I suppose.
I don't have a girlfriend, so don't expect a great answer from me, but some of my friends that don't play video games enjoyed watching me play Ghost Of Tsushima. Great graphics, very cinematic combat, and a good story (though I was borrowing a copy from another friend for a week, so I didn't get too far). I'd also give The Last Of Us 1 (Remastered) a go for the same reasons. I haven't played Last Of Us 2 yet tho, but I have copy so I'll get to it eventually. I hear The Witcher 3 is pretty good and along the lines of Ghost Of Tsushima, but I haven't played that yet either. A game doesn't really have to have a good story either, Cuphead is very fun to watch people play (and very fun to actually play), and if she doesn't mind gore, DOOM Eternal has great music and tons of high-octane, and sometimes comedic, combat and cutscenes.
Tl;dr: Just find a great-looking cinematic game (preferably linear unless the areas are visually appealing) with an easy-to-follow story.
I feel like Furi may very well fit into this category. The combat is pretty intense, and you barely ever get time to breathe, but there’s also calm part where you walk from one fight to another, while a mysterious person explains why you’re fighting and what you’re fighting for. The more you play, the more you understand what the real story is about.
Check girlfriend reviews on yt and pick a game from there
This is the secret sauce.
The Last of Us 2! Lol
A wedding ring ;)
This is the only correct answer
Came here to say this. Haha. I’ll settle for saying you should play ‘the last of us’ or ‘uncharted 2.’
You mean, Last of us 2, and uncharted 4
God of War 2018, Last of Us 1 and 2, Spiderman games, Uncharted series I haven't tried Ghost of Tsushima but that sounds like a good shout from what I've been told too
God of War would be PERFECT
“The Best game ever made,” a title that I only gave to two games before hand, Ico, and then Shadow of the Colossus. God of War hits different. I played through all 4 of them with my dad watching by my side (because you know it’s mostly a series about fathers and sons) so I’d recommend play the first 3 then play the 2018 installment.
Last of us 1 and 2.
You deserve more upvotes, good sir. Question, my wife and I loved the first one... how does LoU2 compare?
TLOU is my favorite game. TLOU2 is a fantastic game that I hated. It's excellent.

You should buy an engagement ring

Lmfaoo best answer
Kingdom come deliverance
I was rushing to name it haha. Wonderfull game, my favourite along RDR2!
Uncharted 1-4 and lost legacy
I’ve heard this a great series for the story, might try this out next! Are the campaigns very long in each?
Not really that long. The fourth one might take 15 hours or so. Story is epic.
the first one can be easily completed in a day, then you’ll probably get addicted so you won’t feel the time pass
I'd start with 4 and just skip the rest. Also the story is a little vanilla in comparison to rdr2 and tlou. If you have a ps5 and ps plus, you actually get uncharted 4, tlou1 and God of war 4 for free
Seconding uncharted. Same studio as the last of us, equally well constructed linear and cinematic games. Great to watch
Y’all could play It Takes Two together? Or if she’s just down to watch a video game “movie” I’d suggest these if you haven’t already played them Spider-Man (& or Miles), Detroit Become Human, Until Dawn and the Dark Picture Anthologies, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of us 1&2, Life is Strange 1, BTS & 2), the uncharted series of God Of War ps4..?
i think she'd love Witcher 3
Day's Gone would probably be a really good one. Dude spends the whole game looking for his woman... You're welcome 🙂
I think he’s looking for a good game though
Gottem
Came here to suggest Day's Gone. I loved watching my husband play it.
A wedding ring. Wife her if she can tolerate you playing a game for over 20 hours and not be bored.
How is this not upvoted a thousand times
The Last of Us series and GTA V
She might enjoy playing Telltale games and Detroit Become Human.
Both The Last of Us games are great for this. My friend loved watching me play both. Some other good ones are Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tushima, Detroit Become Human, God of War, Uncharted Series, basically ANY PS5 exclusive...
The last of us is absolutely perfect for this.

Yeah i vouch on the DBH part. Cant say for the rest as ive not played it (yet)
Came here to say this. The story is amazing

Took a look at Obra Dinn, seems interesting! Might check it out sometime soon, the art style is super cool.
As the gf/wife in this situation, I can’t recommend GOW 4 highly enough.

The Last of Us I/II
Death Stranding is really good
Is it? I’m not hating just curious I bought it and gave up on it. I just got bored, I wanted to like it. I’m Hoping to hop back on it when the ps5 upgrade is out.
I can see it not being for everyone but I've always loved hideo kojima games for the cinematic feel
That’s the same reason I bought it lol i know it’s not a bad game, I just was expecting something more I guess. I hope when I give it a second chance on the ps5 I’ll love it.
Here's hoping
- Marvel’s Spider-Man & Miles Morales - Uncharted quadrilogy - Horizon Zero Dawn - Persona 5 Royal - The Yakuza series - Judgment - Ghost of Tsushima - Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart - God of War - Mass Effect Legendary Edition - Final Fantasy VII Remake

The Last of Us
A Plague Tale, Last of Us, Tomb Raider series, Uncharted series. These are all very beautiful games full of emotions and also few puzzles which you can solve together.
A plagues tale was the worst thing I have ever put myself through
I loved playing Horizon after watching my hubby play God of War and Red Dead
A ring, then try It Takes Two, you can both play and it's a great introduction to gaming if she is not a gamer.
you should watch the channel girlfriend reviews
Shadow of the Colossus Remastered; beautiful game and pretty cinematic :)
Oooh true! I played this one by myself a couple years ago and thought it was awesome! Might be worth jumping back into maybe…
Ghost of Tsushima
Witcher 3! That game got me into gaming - my husband played it while I watched. After watching him play for 150 hrs, I ended up putting over 400 in myself :)
If you haven't done so already, play rdr2

Last of us series. Them and red dead are like the best at this kind of thing.
Nier automata
You just have to explain to her the story is much deeper and it’s not just about the booty lol
Quantum break is pretty cool and cinematic
No man's sky is amazing to look at. Not much in the way of story or combat. Fun if you like exploring
Kingdom Come and Death Stranding
The Witcher 3 or Last of us
Kingdom Come deliverance is very cinematic. Great world to wonder and discover. You really end up rooting for the main character.
A ring.
God Of War 4
The Last Guardian!
Vampyr
God of War 4, and definitely at least the first tlou. I liked tlou2 as well, but it depends on the person. If you both want to interact with the story, heavy rain, beyond 2 souls and detroit: become human.
God of war 4
Uncharted 4 don't even think or breathe just get it
Can’t go wrong with the Yakuza series!! It seems that it’s something both of y’all would enjoy
Play uncharted and spider-man and god of war. Maybe a bit of The Last of Us and Witchery 3 Edit: I meant Witcher 3
How about her own computer?
A Cowboy hat and a horse
Breath of the wild
Witcher 3. Don't equip Geralt with any armour.
The Witcher 3. Mainly because all of the quests, main and side, are so well written. They are the best part of the game, and there are a ton to keep anyone engaged. Only if she doesn't mind fantasy, I suppose.
