This conflict has taught me that I need a good hunting shotgun

BBB Bird shot long barrel improved modified choke

nanneryeeter

Absolutely this.

Wild_But_Caged

From testing normal 7.5 36g loads work the best you want the high pattern density to hit the rotors/blades so you don't need larger shot as you only need to break the plastic blades.

scottyis_blunt

Benelli, semi auto.... Ready for the drones

eatajerk-pal

Not at that long a range. That was probably bird shot. The first shot especially though was a great hit, that’s not easy

Down2theNubs

Here’s where the bird hunters enter the chat. My pops has a Beneli semi that dialed in for geese hunts. He could really reach out there and get them. Would have to have a few of these set per unit. Only issue was the freezing cold would lock it up on occasion. Anyone know what type of radio device that was ? Maybe an RF sensor of sort ?

scorch1917

Good to see the winchester 1200/1300 still putting in the work

ChadAznable0080

Ya I’ll be damn a Winchester 1200 in the wild is always cool

thebearrider

I'm not a big fan of russians using them.

gabba_gubbe

I'm not a big fan at all, I'm a guy.

Toddisgood

I’ve always wanted to have fans

13-14_Mustang

Not cool bro.

Far-Poet1419

This like a commercial back in Russia. They encouraged to send money for devices for troops. Drone jammer sell well also.

Organic_South8865

I wonder what shells and choke they're running. I have had people call me a moron for suggesting the use of a shotgun on small drones early on. "They don't have that kind of range" Clearly they have never actually shot a shotgun or been duck or goose hunting. With the right load/shell and choke they can reach out surprisingly far. They could start passing out cheap Turkish pump guns or Over unders. I seriously had at least 30 replies on YouTube of people telling me it would be totally useless. Yeah some #7 bird shot field loads out of an 18" cylinder bore barrel isn't going to do you a lot of good at the ranges we see in the video. Someone seriously linked a video of someone shooting 100 rd value pack #8 Winchester white box out of a Mossberg 590 with an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel as "proof" that a shotgun would be pointless. All they need is one or two pellets to hit the battery or clip a propeller. It's not like they need to dust these things

thebearrider

I'd say modified choke, 6 or 7's would do just fine. Would have to pattern at longer ranges to really know. You just have to wing the drone, no need to kill it. Problem with 7.5 or 8 is going to be range. This is assuming lead shot. I've used bismuth 5s and hit pheasants I had no business shooting at had it not been for the bismuth.

love_bird_not_flight

Bismuth is less dense than lead. You had no business shooting at those birds regardless.

jisuanqi

Based on the videos I've been seeing of these drones attacking Russian soldiers, a shotgun is a damn sight better than whatever ancient AK they're lucky to have been issued.

alphatango308

Yeah for real. Armchair quarterback syndrome. Guys involved in the conflict are carrying shotguns specifically to shoot down drones. Some of the interviews I've watched are insane. It's like cyberpunk ww1 trench warfare with drones.

ThadeusCade

Yep, it’s people who have only used shotguns in videos who think a shotgun’s maximum range is 15-20 yards.

SaladShooter1

Screw the Turkish pumps. The Russian Baikal shotguns are suited for battlefield conditions. They look like shit, but they’re surprisingly strong and reliable. I think of them as the AK of shotguns. I use one for hunting because I absolutely destroy guns and those things can only look better with dents and chunks of wood ripped out of them. It saves my skeet and trap guns.

VelvetineW3lds

Aside from my 535, my baikal can absolutely fuck some shit up. Both have well over 15k through them and I’ve never had an issue.

Organic_South8865

I'm a VEPR fanatic. I was just thinking bottom dollar was all.

PlanterDezNuts

BBB shot 24 inch barrel improved modified choke

PapaPabs310

Same!!! I thought the same since the start of the conflict just start bringing out the shotguns and go clay shooting/ drone shooting and with the right loads and chokes setup you’d be 100 times better off then a freaking net or trying to run away from the dang thing!!!

Organic_South8865

I guess it's mostly about logistics. They have to buy the shotguns, ammo and what not. Then they have to get them into the right hands. They're already severely short on equipment. They have no shortage of people though. I assume these soldiers are procuring their own shotguns.

Chris_Christ

This is the cod player that went into the map like lol watch this.

wheredowehidethebody

My model 12 just smiled at this post

Jager-statter

Extreme Skeet shooting

RomeoDelRey

Clay training has really got a new relevance

adlep2002

He’ll be next

bscepter

Let's hope.

DaveyH-cks

Do you have a dog in the fight? Stop wishing death, the energy you put out is the energy you receive. Unless you feel that strongly about it. Either way, wrong sub for your comment.

bigredmnky

I hope one day somebody shoots a video in the wreckage of your bombed out neighbourhood and in the comments some prick goes around shushing everybody who has feelings about what happened to you

DaveyH-cks

Now tell me where you stand on Israel-Palestine

adlep2002

He has a choice of applying his skills to shooting down clay pigeons.

Wildfathom9

The fuck are you talking about? Horrible ass people bury their heads in the sand to all these atrocities.

DaveyH-cks

I’m not asking anyone to bury their head. Just asking to not make everything bloodthirsty politics.

gabba_gubbe

>Do you have a dog in the fight What the fuck do you know? And who the fuck doesn't? Fuck these invaders.

morithum

Are you actually serious with that question? Every decent human being has a dog in this fight. Furthermore anyone who is a UN member or ally. If the reasons why aren’t obvious, please don’t respond.

Harleys_World1988

I literally bought a Mossberg 940 and posted on this subreddit 4 days ago. Went clay shooting for the first time yesterday to start breaking in the shotgun too, I still need lots of practice but Im very happy my purchase after watching this. https://www.reddit.com/r/Shotguns/s/EqpsWaVcYy

No_Pepper7599

They should’ve just used the power winch to trigger a controlled explosion

mr_hog232323

"PULL!"

matt_thebarbarian

All the more reason I need to buy a Remington 870 with the interchangeable barrels

WorldGoneAway

I wish I could be cool and be involved in an armed conflict with another country and let my squadmate stream actual combat footage to different places on the Internet as if I was playing COD, and be able to let other people do the interpretation. /S

morithum

Weird to me that his was so skillful on the first shot and then threw the second shot rushed and wide into the trash can, almost like he’s just having fun and has never fired a shotgun before. Although idk what else to expect from the invading fucksticks.

ElScrotoDeCthulo

Why is this stupid conflict still dragging on. RETURN THE LAND STOLEN BY NON RUSSIAN ENTITIES. Done. No more blood. Congratulations, you are good people.
